RowlattsFox Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 I don't see why we shouldn't have been aiming to get up and round the play-offs. Because we are not good for enough for the playoffs. Palace went on a run and got up there, spending alot less money than us. But Palace had a decent squad that was under-achieving, Warnock has not had to get rid of a load of deadwood and as not needed to buy half a team. Norwich now look as though they may do it, their fans are confident they will, without spending a penny - all loan signings. Norwich have done well but there still only 4 points above us. Despite what anyone says, Holloways reign has so far been disappointing. That is true but i'm not writing him off yet.
Mark Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 I've said his signings are nowhere near good enough and worryingly we're stuck with this lot now plus Clapham who hardly gives me much hope. The fact Ollie was moaning about having no choice but to play strikers on the wing in the Southampton Cup match and has today reverted back to that is a major concern. You had an extra option Ollie but you sent him back out on loan without seeing him in a match, really poor management in my opinion as you could never rely on two Hungarians never to play in this country before.
FilboFox Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 We lost to Blackpool... for **** sake! BLACKPOOL!?! Why the hell can't we just play some good football every week... ANY week!?! I'm gettting pissed off with the shite this lot are producing!!!
Father Ted Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 We weren't robbed we still do not play for the full duration of a game. So’ton (h): led 2-0, drew 2-2. Spurs (h): led 1-0, lost 2-1. Wolves (a): led 3-0, lost 4-3. Ch’ton (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1. Everton (a): led 2-1, lost 3-2. N’castle (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1. Bolton (a): led 1-0, drew 2-2. Boro (a): led 3-1, drew 3-3. Bolton (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1. Spurs (a): led 4-3, drew 4-4. After that John Curtis own goal I was literally crying.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Priority number one - Stay up. Have you just woke up then ? Your sig is cute btw.
Thor Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 In my view it's time to bring Fryatt back into the picture. We can't keep playing two old warhorses up front together. We need creativity. Apart from being the most skilful player we have, Fryatt is about the only one who can do the unexpected and create chances, sometimes for himself but more often for others. I for one would like to see Howard and Fryatt given a go up front. DJ is OK to bring on occasionally to run around and stir things up a bit, but in essence he's just another headless chicken in the Elvis mould.

Very well said and i agree with the Fryatt bit and the DJ part aswell. DJ is a waste of money.
purpleronnie Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Sure they'll be relegation threads now, until we win one they it will be play off threads.
davieG Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Leicester manager Ian Holloway slammed his side after their dismal 2-1 defeat at Blackpool. The Foxes had lost just once in their last seven league games to climb away from danger but Blackpool's first win in five took them above Leicester and left Holloway's men just two places above the drop zone. The visitors put in a wretched first-half performance and were caught napping when they allowed Gary Taylor-Fletcher to latch onto a long free-kick and turn in a third-minute opener. And although Steve Howard struck a 62nd-minute equaliser in a much-improved second-half showing, former Leicester striker Paul Dickov came off the bench to snatch a 90th-minute winner for the Seasiders. Holloway has brought in a host of players during the January transfer window but still Leicester's wait for a second successive win this season goes on, and Holloway vented his fury as their inconsistency continues to blight their survival hopes. "We didn't turn up for 45 minutes and I'm absolutely fuming," he said. "I'm sick and tired that we take one step forward and then two back. "We need to get back-to-back wins and we haven't done that all season, which is a disgrace for a club the size of ours and the players I've actually got here. "I'm expecting this lot to be stronger than that because away from home at the moment we look weak. "We could have climbed up the division today but we've dropped back and we've got to realise that we're in a right scrap."
Lillehamring Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 it's funny that people are suprised there is all doom and gloom on here, well of course there is, it felt like we had turned a corner, today it wasn't just like we were unlucky, we hardly had the ball, we created very few chances and conceeded what, by most accounts, were sloppy goals. and the reports coming back from people at the game by phone, pretty much back up what i think most of us felt was the case listening to the radio. i can't imagine many will come back saying we were robbed, and that we are actually a half decent side. we are so close from pulling away from relegation, yet so close to it, that it is inevitable that such an inconsistent side as we are, we are gonna be getting excited and worried as the results go for or against us. i just hope that people will come back with some new insight of where some positivity can be found.
Joe. Posted 2 February 2008 Posted 2 February 2008 Dismal. That's the best words to describe it. For a start- it was ****ing cold. Secondly, we played awful in a shocking match. A draw would have probably best reflected both team's performances. Hoofed pass after hoofed pass, and with the strong winds that had disaster written all over it. It was cold. Paul fecking Dickov. The script was already written beforehand. I dont know whether it was offside or not but a lot of people around me thought it was. It was cold. To cap off, a poor team display and we didn't really deserve anything.

Thank you Joe. Now ready yourself to be told by some asshole that we were better in the first half, the wind didn't stop us laying the ball along the ground and that it was so warm you should have applied suncream.
