Babylon Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Whys he on trial up here then? With a view to a loan, who knows. I'd imagine he is out of contract soon, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
Ric Flair Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 With a view to a loan, who knows. I'd imagine he is out of contract soon, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. His deal is up at the end of the season, unless Chelsea have released him already. Be piss funny to hear what that loud mouth cow's views are of Leicester & Hinckley when she finds out where he is this afternoon.

Babylon Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 I bet he's rubbish. Look we know... but I like to be positive. Stop spoiling it, my money is that he's the next Bobby Moore. Oi... mods keep your hands off!!!!! Don't unleash the beast.

Ultra Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Matty Fryatt > DJ Campbell. Not according to the match report...
Steven Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 From the OS. Clapham Comes Through Reserve ActionPosted on: Tue 05 Feb 2008 Pontin's Central Reserve League Coventry City 2-2 Leicester City Goals: Coventry City: Birchall (27), Andrews (71) Leicester City: Fryatt (16), Beswick (78) Yellow Card: Leicester City: Bori, Cox New signing Jamie Clapham came through 66 minutes of action as Gerry Taggart's reserve side battled out a 2-2 draw with Coventry City at the Martson's Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Clapham, who joined the Foxes from Wolves at the end of last week, had an impressive game at left-back before making way just after the hour mark. Taggart was able to field a strong side for the contest, with the likes of Paul Henderson, Bruno N'Gotty, James Wesolowski, Gabor Bori, Radi Kishishev, Matty Fryatt and DJ Campbell all included in the starting 11. Leicester's first chance of the game came in the fourth minute. Coventry 'keeper Daniel Ireland was only able to parry Campbell's free-kick, but Fryatt was unable to steer home the rebound. But Fryatt would find the target with 16 minutes on the clock - the former Walsall striker firing home from close range following a Kishishev corner. Thornton almost got a goal back for the home side on 24 minutes, but Henderson did well to get down to his 25-yard effort. The Sky Blues would find the net moments later though, Chris Birchall tucking the ball away from six yards out. Scott Dann had the first effort on goal of the second half, but his 25-yard drive fell just wide of Henderson's left hand upright. Campbell laid the ball off to Fryatt on the edge of the area on 56 minutes, but his effort fell just over the bar. Henderson kept the scores level on 69 minutes when he saved bravely to deny Birchall. But the Australian could do nothing moments later to prevent Wayne Andrews scoring from eight yards after good work from Thornton. City continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded when Ryan Beswick smashed home a free kick from 20 yards to redress the balance on 78 minutes. Fryatt had the best chance of the closing stages - but an excellent last ditch tackle from Dann meant that both sides had to be satisfied with a point on the day. Leicester: Henderson, Cox, Clapham (Rowe-Turner 66), N'Gotty (Garner 61), Worley (triailist), Wesolowski, Bori, Kishishev, Fryatt, Campbell (Burns 73), Beswick. Subs not used: Douglas, Hellings. Coventry: Ireland, Francis, Borrowdale, Hildreth, Dann, Hall (Burgess 61), Cairo (Ritchie 82), Thornton, Birchall, Andrews, Davis. Subs: Simmonds, Collett, Walker.
Calum McDermott Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Harry Worley? b'jesus i didn't think of him!!
Ultra Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Good to hear Clapham did quite well. I trust he'll have a starting place on Saturday. Beswick seemed quite impressive as well. Could he be a contender for the first-team squad?
Thracian Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Good to hear Clapham did quite well.I trust he'll have a starting place on Saturday. Beswick seemed quite impressive as well. Could he be a contender for the first-team squad? Don't be silly Ultra. Beswick's not 32 yet and if I say he's any good the reactionaries on here will call him whatever. "Send him out on loan, he's a risk, he might have a bad game, we need experience, the crowd might boo him...is there any end to the excuses people will use to stop us assembling a fit, fast team and positive team? As for Clapham I'm not bothered one way or the other. Mattock sounded good in the Under 21 game and might well start in left midfield with Clapham behind him ... a sort of Mattock/Shush! arrangement with half the goals potential but defensively as sound as we've got and about right for the level of our attacking ambitions I suppose. Cos Holloway won't be taking risks at least until we're safe and that will probably make for an increasingly nerve-wracking roller coaster of a run-in to the end of the season. Saturday's game is absolutely vital. A win would take us a little bit further ahead in our quest to get more points than we play games but defeat will take us into a difficult series of three away games out of four, low in confidence and without a system of play they have any faith in. Plymouth will know all that and will have damn all to lose or worry about.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 A mate of mine who's nephew plays for cov reserves was impressed with city and inparticular DJ Campbell!!!
