Daggers Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Bonus Marks for Zippy and George. Stez is God when it comes to Zippy and George impressions!
davieG Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 Stez is God when it comes to Zippy and George impressions! God sounds like Zippy and George! That's what I call a miracle.
Rincewind Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Well its the same as in she is trying to return home after a near death experience There is the mysterious character like the one on the TV in LOM. The barman could play a part in helping her understand things as did the one in LOM. The storylines will be different though. She seems determined to get back to her daughter though so the ending may be different no will be. The series and LOM reminds me a little of Quantum Leap.. I thought that a good series until the last one or two where they explained everything and he went home I would rather have him zooming in and out of various people for ever. The ending seemed as if they put something together just to finish it off.
stez Posted 11 February 2008 Posted 11 February 2008 Stez is God when it comes to Zippy and George impressions! as i was doing it, i thought 'i shouldn't be doing this'!

C-man Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Lets just hope it'll be a better series this time! Life on Mars is my favourite British crime series ever but the 1st series of Ashes to Ashes really disappointed me!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Keeley Hawes is phwooarr even with stupid 80's hair
Sparky Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Loved Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes , Gene Hunt is one hell of a man
Father Ted Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Lets just hope it'll be a better series this time!Life on Mars is my favourite British crime series ever but the 1st series of Ashes to Ashes really disappointed me! Gene Hunt and Life on Mars were/are quality and the first series of Ashes to Ashes was a dissapointment. Keeley Hawes spoils it tbh. She's just not quite Sam Tyler.

She's just not quite Sam Tyler. no, cos she's female and better looking! but hopefully this series will have her being less obsessed with the psychological side of 'why she's there' all the "your not real, this is a neurological reaction to trauma" etc was a bit annoying in the last series, and she'll just accept she's there and get on with kneeing fellas in the balls.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 If people want to see some quality drama and sickening violence set in the 1970s and 80s then get hold of the Red Riding trilogy, that was on Channel 4 recently. That really was ace. None of that time travel bollocks
Guest Bilo Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 no, cos she's female and better looking! but hopefully this series will have her being less obsessed with the psychological side of 'why she's there' all the "your not real, this is a neurological reaction to trauma" etc was a bit annoying in the last series, and she'll just accept she's there and get on with kneeing fellas in the balls. That annoyed me a little in the first series, but I was watching an interview with her and apparently her character is more accepting of the world around her. Oh, and we're now in 1982 as she's moved on a year. And she's still hot.
Fox92 Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 What did everyone think then? Quite good I thought, I cannot really the last series that much. Confused at times, escpecially when she was kidnapped by that doctor person thing.
Smerklo Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I watched Life On Mars, but didn't watch the first series of Ashes to Ashes. Thought I'd give this series a watch, it was alright but in my opinion it was definitely nowhere near as good as Life On Mars.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Gene had some absolute cracking lines last night. I tried to watch the last series but just couldn't get into it. Hopefully this series will be better. I just don't like all that bollocks where the radio/police dog/t.v sends messages to Keely or whatever her name is.

With Life On Mars the weird messages were subtle, only one an episode (if that).

Alex : Dont go bursting in there like a bull in a china shop Gene bursts through the door Gene : Hello , is this the china shop
Cobbo Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I thought it was good. Bit ruder than I remembered though. Ejaculations and all.
