Floating Fox Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Did anyone see what happened in town after the game with the police hellicopter? norwich fans that attended the game tell me that the leicester crowd were volatile towards the norwich end! Apparently an old couple were attacked, so much so that the women had to be taken to hospital as she had blood pouring down her face, can anyone confirm this? Just to add to this, we saw a load of chavs all cuffed up by the old bill in town as well.....
BedsFox Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 i didnt go 2day (i live in norwich) but what is this all about with the croud trouble?? none at the game, bar a couple of norwich ejections v late on we must be talking about afterwards/side streets there was a police helicopter above an area c 1mile away at 5.30pm
Jack Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Brilliant today. First half was nothing special, second half was quality. Clemence among others such as Campbell and Hume impressed me today. 4 well taken goals and 3 points in the bag. Sweeeeeet
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I've been extremely critical of them in the past week and I'm so glad they put in a performance like that today. Like I've been saying, we do have the players. Laczko's sheer enthusiasm is great to watch. Obviously it's all been said about the four goalscorers - all outstanding today, particularly Clemence and Hume. And again obviously we need to see that a bit more regularly before we start to go overboard. Cracking day though. Five pints. Four goals. Three points. Two strikers scoring goals from open play. One smashing curry. No complaints.

David O'Leary Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Without reading much in this thread, what was the pitch like today? Any better than recent times? Absolutely shocking in the Kop end goal mouth, looked a lot better at the family stand end Brilliant today.First half was nothing special, second half was quality. Clemence among others such as Campbell and Hume impressed me today. 4 well taken goals and 3 points in the bag. Sweeeeeet And not a Kenton in sight
accessory Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Gotta say, Hume's booking was possibly the most cynical foul i've seen all year. I take it you missed Russell's stamp on Stearman then..
Micky Ruddle Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Delighted. Wasn't expecting a 4-0 result, but i was confident every time Leicester went forward today. Norwich looked nervous, and leaky, and we took advantage. 37 points, and Coventry's defending was quite absymal. Lets take advantage of that on Saturday, and hopefully come away with back to back wins. Jump Up....If you love Leicester

Stevosevic Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 none at the game, bar a couple of norwich ejections v late onwe must be talking about afterwards/side streets there was a police helicopter above an area c 1mile away at 5.30pm Yes, i saw it walking back to the bus station, hell of alot of police cars around at that point to.
Babylon Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I've rarely felt more vindicated.Have I not said how much we need some pace and, with campbell and Hume we had that pace. Have I not criticised Laczko for coming inside and cramping the space which others might use instead of spreading sluggish defenders out as far as possible. With Laczko and others continually making and keeping the width, didn't Campebll exploit that space wonderfully? And haven't I said we should pass the ball from the back through the team? And said we shouldn't try to sit on a lead but keep pressing forward to score again. And didn't I say we needed to score 2 goals or more to win football matches. And that our players weren't rubbish at all? Give me a bloody break, do you think you've been the only person saying those things? What people moan at you about is other things.... not stating the bleeding obvious above.
Babylon Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Proper pass and run football. It's the way forward and now you lot should all know it. How self absorbed are you? EVERYONE wants that kind of football, but some realise it doesn't bloody happen over night. Of course under you it would, because as we all know you are the greatest football squash manager to ever live.
Bezzanator89 Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I actually went to the game today for the first time in months. Most Saturdays I have work and stuff like that but I thought I may as well see how Leicester would do. Presumably thought City would get absolutely pummelled, and they would be drop-dead crap. Oh, how wrong I was.Apart from the odd time where Norwich attempted to set camp in our half, we were bloody brilliant. Oakley and Clemence working together? Howard and Campbell as a strike force, never attempted before? Leaving sure-fire players OUT of the side? Sounds crazy doesn't it? Alnwick dominated his penalty box well, collecting every available ball, and even played a part in Hume's goal (ie; Route One hoofball). Stearman was shaky at times but generally OK until he got stamped on by the Norwich player sent off. McAuley and the rest of defence were nice and tight, keeping Dion in check and putting their bodies on the line to stop any counter-attacks, if any. Hume was excellent, my Man of the Match today. Scored with a neat finish, comes with the package of being a terrier chasing those long balls, he absolutely terrorised those defenders throughout, poor buggers. Did get a bit over-exuberant, resulting in the yellow card shown to him. Took a free-kick that apparantly hit a hand but I couldn't tell because I was behind the wall of Norwich players. Oakley and Clemence were their creative selves and didn't actually hoof it, they passed neat passes intricately between the defenders whihc is why we had so many chances. Not forgetting to mention Clemence's goal, very well taken. Didn't see much of Howard before the first goal where he did the near-perfect layoff to Hume for the goal. The cross from whoever-it-was for Howard's goal was immaculate, with Howard smashing the ball past Marshall for the second goal. And Campbell, being the little tyke he is, took his goal ruthlessly and like Hume, terrorised the defenders all afternoon. Looks like Ollie might just have found the right formula. Today, I am very proud to be a Leicester City fan, and just think, I nearly decided not to go... But what was good was the fact that the most common chant was "Dion..Dion..What's the Score?..Dion..Dion..What's the Score?.." COME ON CITY!!!! CITY TIL I DIE!!!! Don't think anyone actually noticed my article, took me 15 mins to write...
WetFlannel Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I was saving my money for Coventry away so we had better put in a good performance there, or else I'll feel robbed. Really wish I went now, especially as I was offered to go.
