mat_j101 Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Anyone know anything on Stearmans injury. The tackle looked awful, deserved a sending off. I couldnt see for definite but it looked like he stamped on him too.
rob-blue-fox Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Funny old game football is isn't it?First of all Russel - You dirty willy puller. Deserved to be sent off, I think that was an ongoing tussle from the game we played there not long ago. As for the game, all of the goals were pretty well worked, especially Howard's. DJ looked like the person we'd been missing, intelligent runs, I'm so glad he got his goal. First half wasn't always pretty but we did what we needed to do, Mattock wasn't convincing at left wing, but Lackzo, when he came on, got better as time went by. Clapham helped him do this and was solid again for me. Great ball from Hume for Howard's goal and a finish to match - Have that one Daggers! Consistency needed now. Hull City did it and we've robbed it! ok cheers mate
ForestFilbert Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Thank the lord we won 4-0 today and not 4-1...............Ollie would have got the sack for conceding a goal. Could not cope with another manager pay off!! Listened to the game on the internet, can't wait to see the highlights tomorrow morning. The win only soured by the injury to Richard Stearman, any news on how serious it is?
lildave3 Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I hope that's shut all you negative 'ohhh we're league 1, down for certain' fuckers up.
Stuliasz Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Tremendous all round display and result today. Of course the sending off helped but we could have easily sat back and defended that lead rather than make the most of the space as we did. Well done lads.
Ashley Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 i know this is changing the subject, but where did 'jump up if you love leicester' come fromthat was being sung in L1,have i missed something? davieG Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Bonuses 4 goals being from open play 3 from the 3 strikers 2 before their guy was sent off 1 from a midfielder 0 from defenders Might have to change my sig
Simi Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Didnt Sheff Wed start if off?If your an owl bounce around? Possibly yes, either way it's a recycled chant!
mat_j101 Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Laczko was excellent today too! I thought that was the best hes played since he got here, real class. The way he picked out Clem for the fourth was great - he could have just tried to nail it in the six yard box, which may have just gone out for a corner or something. To pick out a man like that was top! I thought Clem had one of his better games for us today too, made a couple of solid tackles infront of the back four, and some nice passess too. The thing i was most impressed with though was the way we passed the ball around for the last 20 mins or so, we had some real confidence about us, it looked really good. We put 4 past Watford earlier in the season, but not one of the goals was a 'good football goal' for want of a better phrase. All four today came from nice passes etc, with good finished. More than just 3 points, this win should give us some confidence now, so we need to make the most of that and hopefully go on a bit of a run and win a few

Good post, I agree. Ball retention was a lot better today, as it was against Watford. The difference today however was what we did with it, many chances created and all round positive attitude.
Bert Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 How had they not lost in 13? distinctly average today.
MikeyT Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Fantastic game today. Really enjoyed it, and it looked as though the players really enjoyed themselves as well! I think every player today really put their heart and soul into that performance. I think Laczko looked very good when he came on as well. All in all, couldnt have asked for more. Lets hope we get a good result next week as well! Well done lads! Oh and i hope Stearman is ok!!!
Toby or not Toby Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 why doesn't Ollie sound very happy? Annoyed with the Sterman injury?
lavrentis Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 5 of my Norwich friends have blocked me on MSN.
davieG Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 How had they not lost in 13? distinctly average today. They did what we've been doing - going to pieces after conceding a goal. I thought it was fairly even until we scored and we looked particularly weak down the left even with 2 defenders on. The injury to Mattock was fortuitous because Zsolt's gave us so much more width and it was noticeable how Ollie kept telling Hume to stay wide, stretching their defence gave us so much more room down the middle.
lee7 Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 great result today but we could of and should of won the game by more. i thought clemence had an amazing game and so did howard, oakley and hume.
SamL Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Great result. Thought we were fairly average first half but capitalized on the extra man in the second half. Doesn't make up for the last 3 games though. Still a lot of work to do but 5 points off of relegation now, things are looking up.
WetFlannel Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I just came in and saw the score Jesus Christ. Play offs?
Maybes Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Didnt Sheff Wed start if off?If your an owl bounce around? Sheff weds sing If you dont f**king bounce, if you dont f**king bounce then you're a blaaade Very pleased with the result and glad we finished them off in style. Lee Croft is one hell of a player at this level it has to be said.

The injury to Mattock was fortuitous because Zsolt's gave us so much more width and it was noticeable how Ollie kept telling Hume to stay wide, stretching their defence gave us so much more room down the middle. we were led to believe that ZLs first touch was still a bit off, today, tho it was clear he improved during the game, does this sound about right? i must say, i though, when he came on, that it was a good time for him to start, with the team having some momentum and confidence behind them...
Leicester Lass Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Finally a Saturday evening which I can enjoy Still plenty of work to be done though, starting with Cov on Saturday.
Webbo Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 I thought that there wasn't much to chose between the sides until the second goal, and then the sending off. You could see the confidence lift immeasurably. I thought McAuley and Kisnorbo were immense today, never really troubled.
AyewJoking Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 lol Delia your boys took a hell of a beating!
Jackirius Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 best day of my life lads, live in norwich and i get all the stick been taking it on the chin and now its time they have a bit back, how did we play, i couldnt get along, reakon its a one of, or start of something new?
RowlattsFox Posted 16 February 2008 Posted 16 February 2008 Excellent performance. We werent outstanding in the first half but we could have been 3-0 if it wasnt for 2 superb saves by Marshall. Clemence and oakley were outstanding, Hume was excellent, brilliant pass for Howards goal. Howard and Campbell worked well together, McAuley and Kisnorbo defended brilliantly. We played some excellent stuff once Russell was sent off, there was no 'lets just see out the game', we wanted to score more. Obviously we need consistency, but lets not think about that for now and just enjoy it.
