Stevosevic Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 How would we assess his performances so far? Ive been quite impressed and still feel there is more to come. In the long run i think he will be the answer to our creative problems, providing we have two decent wingers. He also gets his fair share of goals and in the past i can recall him scoring some beauties - hes due one, maybe against Coventry? Hope so. Discuss...

Discuss... yeah hes qulaity, easily our best player against plymouth and shouldve scored but the goal was disallowed! derby fans still not happy about this and for 500k its a steal!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 The best central midfielders are the ones you don't necessarily notice that much but they keep the ball moving and the team has overall control of the game - as we've seen with the Coventry and Norwich home games. In between times he's found it more difficult but you can tell he's a class act and if we had someone on the wing who took full-backs on, the whole of the team would look better, especially Oakley.
Raj Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I'm crap and over rated and I runs funny. Only joking...Me is quality.

Spot on, I also think he has helped Clemence's game improve.
AmericanScott Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I think he's great. He's helping the team out in midfield a lot. It's nice to see our two central midfielders are the former captains of 2 of the last season's promotion sides.
Raj Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 WILL MODERATORS/TEAM LEADERS KEEP EDITING MY POSTS TO MAKE ME LOOK A BIGGER TWAT THAN NORMAL PLEASE!!!! I LUV IT
mancunianfox Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Oakley has been decent for us so far but his biggest benefit to us is the influence he seems to have on Clemence who has been putting in some good performances for us recently.

I said something along those lines at Coventry. Well, about him always seeming to be there to keep the ball moving. I decided to condense this into "Steady away" in this thread. WILL MODERATORS/TEAM LEADERS AND ALL THEM STOP EDITING MY POSTS TO MAKE ME LOOK A BIGGER TWAT THAN NORMAL PLEASE!!!! Hahahahahaha. I have no jurisdiction over this area of the forum. FoxesFan123 Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Most peoples response to this would have been different had this thread been started on friday.....
Bert Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I like him. Calm and collected on the ball, has great vision, an eye for goal, not afraid to make a tackle either, has decent experience at the top level, brings the best out of Clem, and hopefully, next season, this partnership will flourish.

RowlattsFox Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I may be wrong but I don't recall seeing him ever play a long hopeful pass, he is always looking to keep the ball, even if it means going sideways or backwards. I like the way he finds space, he was picking up some excellent positions inbetween Norwich's defence and midfield. When he came i expected him to be the one from midfield who is going to get in the goalscoring positions but in the games i've been too recently its Clemence who is having the shots on goal.
Koke Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 He assisted Dudley against Norwich. So there you go. He has been fairly good for us, although I am expecting more from him. In the long run I do believe him and Clemence will turn their partnership into gold. And hopefully there is no stopping them bossing the midfield game after the game. And if we get Laczko to perform as he's shown then Oakley will look even better.
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I don't anyone with more than three brain cells ever questioned his ability.
Ric Flair Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 He is a proper footballer, but the sort of player that is wasted in a team that doesn't play the right sort of football. It's no coincidence that when we've tried to get the ball down and play, that Oakley has been superb. If the ball is launched over his head and it's all a bit messy, then unfortunately he'll not look the player he can be. But don't get me wrong, he's not afraid to get stuck in and scrap in the midfield if need be, but his revels when he's allowed time on the ball to create. I'm just waiting for a goal from him, it won't be long.

Ric Flair Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 He's due one against the scums. I think you might be right there son. Oakley piledriver and a Muzzy Izzet Kung-Fu style celebration in front of the masses.
