Its been a long time since they have been considered credible. An excuse for "celebrities" to get pissed these days.

Most of the nominees are decided by industry people, and it basically boils down to who has made the most money for the industry or who they expect to make a lot of money for the industry, which is why they haven't got a massive amount of credibility compared to, for example the Mercury awards which has a bit more to do with artistic merit and a bit less to do with CA$H

No artist with any appreciation of their art should even consider attending. Just a shame Sam and Mick didn't sink it forever... despite inadvertantly creating the most memorable Brit Awards ever!
