Geo V Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I thought I`d start this thread on the back of a discussion within the agents fees thread. We seem to have a moan at all this wasted money but we just dont know how good these players will be for our club and its always risky although admittedly it always felt like silly season when Newton and Cort came along as I was 99% certain they would be useless and they didnt let me down. However, we arent the only ones who have messed up and it could have been worse. Turn the clock back to June and we were linked with all sorts of players, some very strongly like JFH and Fowler. Out of all those that we were linked to, can anyone actually think of any players who have done fantastically well with there new clubs? Fowler has been a waste, JFH has scored a few goals but generally has been poor. Im wracking my brains to think of those that were linked to us but I cant be bothered to go through the old threads in the transfer section as Im knackered but Im sure some of you can do that today???!!

Jonbluefox9 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Todorov's got a couple of goal since joining Charlton but has hardly played and weren't we linked with Dean Sinclair who ended up at Charlton too? He's hardly made an impression either. Seems like Charlton saved us a fair bit when it comes to signing players we were after too!

Rodders Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Todorov's got a couple of goal since joining Charlton but has hardly played. He's been out since October with a knee injury. Got to feel sorry for the guy - same injury that ruled him out for 2 years at Pompey (other knee though).

We're lucky we didn't end up with a striker who has hardly been available to play. I do feel sorry for him but pleased for us
