Hendrie Signs

I'm not really excited about this signing - if he's not good enough for sheff utd then why would he be any better for us? :dunno:

Im sure i'm not the only one to be thinking this - hardley a signing to take your breath away.

Seems he has been brought in to play either wide left or right, I'd say he'd be more effective down the middle, but of course the untouchables play there!

Pleased with this one if I'm honest.

He's surely got to play left wing on Saturday then now? It'd make a lot of sense to me. As long as he actually puts some effort in and gives 110% I don't mind.

They are our best two centre midfielders we have mate.

Oh no, you've done it now, don't question him! :P

Bout time Clemence was dropped though. I'd like to see Hendrie and Oakley given a few games together.

Why not :dunno:

Because surely if Hendrie can play on the wing, and we lack quality on the wing, then he should play there?

I'm all for giving Weso a run in the centre though.

I think mixing it up might change Leicesters fortunes - can't exactly do it any harm?

"In my eyes he can play wide left, centre midfield and wide right. I am really looking forward to working with him."

Whatever people say, beg for, Clem and Oakley will only not play if they're suspended or injured.

He'll be on one of the wings.

OK so you dont rate clemence and believe he should be dropped, but once again the problem is that we dont get down ths wings enough and supply crosses to the strikers.

Clemence and Oakley are a good partnership IMO and Hendrie will add to the midfield.

3-5-2 anyone

I still wanna see a 4-3-3 with Hume and Campbell wide up front and Howard in the centre.

I'm pleased with the signing... we needed someone in midfield to challenge Oakley and Clemence for their places. At the moment, they just swan in and out thinking that no matter what, their place is secure and that leads to shit service up front and no wins... so Hendrie will add a little something even if he doesn't play that much... certainly hope that the shit that the midfield produces can be shaken up and given some life!

Good move Ollie!

I think Hendrie is a decent gamble. We could get the player who played at Stoke last season, we could get the player who Sheff Utd are happy to get rid off. We'll see how he does.

I still think Liam Miller is worth going for. Quality player at this level and would add some mental toughness that is desperately lacking in our team.

Sounds good to me!

Maybe now we can play that formation...

----------------------- Alnwick --------------------------

Stearman ----- Kisnorbo ----- N'Gotty ----- Clapham

------ Hendrie ----- Clemence ----- Oakley -----

------- Hume ----- Howard ----- Campbell -----

I would imagine that that would work! :) Maybe play Chambers instead of Stearman... down to whether they are in form.

Very good shout. Would love us to show a bit more ambition, for Milan to spend a BIT MORE money and get Miller in.

Or play stearman centre half and put chambers RB.

I don't trust N Gotty and would give Stearman a chance to play in his natural position

He would be alittle too good for league one don't you think????

Jesus people the negativity in this area is abismal atm, this is a quality signing. If the blokes up for it, then he will save us, he the qaulity and the exeperiance to lead us forward. you dont just lose qaulity just like that, he just needs some conidence and some games, he hasnt played much at all this season, how can you expect a player to be on "FORM" when your in and out of the sqaud, its so hard to make a impact on a game when you come on with ten minutes left. Hendrie is a qaulity player, and i think the bloke will do well, your all slating him before hes even put the shirt on for god sake, its radiculous, a few games and hel find his touch again.

I remember in the summer alot of people wanted him to come here, he was awesome and a major part of stokes success last season they were unlucky not to get into the play-offs in the end. The bloke needs games which he hasnt been getting at Sheff U because they think their some supreme team.

Im optimistic about him, i cheered when i saw we'd signed him, the first thing iv cheered about for a while.

Il go as far as saying that if he doesnt make a difference to our team then i will stay completely sober for the whole summer.

I agree with what you say but i can't help wonder where all my tax is going if at least some of it isn't going into education.

I think there is room for a comma or two in there somewhere Dave!!

He is reminiscent of Jason Koumas!! I dont get why peoople are slagging him off. The guy is pure quality, think back to last season when he played for Stoke, its not just his undoubted quality on the ball and unlocking defences but he makes options for passes. He is constantly moving, and as people know, movement unsettles the oppostion and offers options for teammates to pass the ball. Im sure that once we slot Hendrie on the left of midfield we will play much better football, and rely less on the aerial prowess of Steve Howard. This signing, in my opinion, along with adding the extra quality to the team, is to facilitate DJ Campbell and get him more involved by using his pace down the flanks and behind the defence.

Remember, better players improve peoples performances. He will bring the team on no end.

Like a previous post suggests, on paper our team rivals the best in the division, its just about finding a way to get them playing together.

We needed a spark to get us going again, and I think that spark has arrived. We shall wait and see, but I am absolutely thrilled with this signing.

People who are not happy with this signing, know nothing about football I'm afraid.

Yeh, yeh, yeh if you're going to criticise the critics at least come up with something original, this has been predicted about practically every midfielder/winger we've signed in the last 4 years; adding one player to a squad doesn't change how they play, he'll soon get to learn the Leicester way.

What makes you think Hendrie will be the catalyst to this 'much better football' when no one else has managed to make the slightest difference least of all your beloved in your avatar.

I guessing we know more about the unpredictable impact that 'new' players can have than maybe you do. Let's hope he's far more influential than the gadabout Williams was!

I'll wait and see before I think about having his babies for him.

Yours forever cynical!

I bet sheffield united are already kicking themselves.
