This place doesn't need livening up any more thanks!

True :giggle:

Anyway, might we finally see Clemence dropped now, or is that asking for too much?

Great Sigining ... If this was August 2007  I just prey that Hendrie takes that long hair yeti place in the team. Liam Miller would have been alot better.

Stoke fans also said Hendrie was class when they first had him on loan and shit the second time round.

Contradict youself there

You say he's a great signing yet say Liam Miller would have been a lot better - all in the same breath! lol

Laczko?

Like I said, who know? He could have made it easier by saying Lackzko than make me wonder what the hell he's talking about surely?

He said it would have been a good signing in August 2007, as this is when hendrie was a good player in his eyes? :dunno:

It shows how pessimistic we all are. Posters saying things like: '......if he's up for it' & '........if he puts the effort in'.

He's a new signing for crying-out loud and we all know how pro footballers always try - Birch tells us.

If he is 'up for it', however, I'm sure Ollie's tactics, team selection & motivation skills will soon put paid to that.

However much he's "up for it", our team is way too flat and our attitude on pitch remains to be fixed. Hopefully he's the catalyst for change but I don't see him improving us more than a little.

lets hope its the final piece of the jigsaw  probably not though

Fuk me, Thats a HUGE final piece if thats the case.

We're missing 60% of the jigsaw pieces, no matter how good a player you are (And I hope he is for us) I doubt we'd find 1 more player to complete it for us.

hendrie is quality

but hes not better than lee martin so he hasnt been playing

And by the way Davie G your image is an outstanding piece of work

Whose sofa was he found down the back of?

No doubt this will boost flagging shirt sales.

I'm not really excited about this signing - if he's not good enough for sheff utd then why would he be any better for us? :dunno:

Im sure i'm not the only one to be thinking this - hardley a signing to take your breath away.

Seems he has been brought in to play either wide left or right, I'd say he'd be more effective down the middle, but of course the untouchables play there!

It's a tough call. Any new signing this season is a highlight (certainly more than seeing us play under floodlight for the last time) and with his pedigree, Hendrie has a lot of experience and skill to offer. Aston Villa, Stoke, Sheffield United - he's proven on the two highest English football levels and that says something. He can create and score goals alike.

I think he'll deliver an exquisite performance on Saturday and I bet he's willing to prove himself. On paper, we have some of the best English players in this division. The potential is certainly around, but as we've all seen as this campaign has progressed, big names count for nothing if they can't/don't want to play along. But I've said it before, Holloway is also to blame for the crap tactics and substitutions of his that we've seen happening numerous times.

I'd love to see Hendrie play on the wing, drop Clemence for the game (as he and Oakley are way too similar in their playing role) and put Hume in as an attacking midfielder behind Campbell and Howard.

My only fear is that the rest of the team will behave in a very lacklustre way and suck Hendrie right into this negative attitude spiral.

Then again, it could very well be that Hendrie could act as a wake-up call for the others. Just play a proper game on the wing, bring some high balls into the box. That's one of the most basic elements we've been dearly missing for most part of this season.

I'd give him two, three games before I judge this move.

Right lets get this straight, our judgement of this player is from Sheff Utd fans on a messageboard. Great, lets not give him any chance. fook sake give the lad at least a game playing for Leicester that you witness, even that would be a harsh judgement. Fair enough if you don't like the lad but lets make a judgement in a couple of games time. We complain with what we have already, a new player comes into the side and we are already saying he isn't good enough, oh no some Sheff United fans said hes not been playing well. Bollocks far to many times we have had a player been shit then left and are much better. Sometimes it dosen't work at clubs.

Let the football do the talking Lee Hendrie.

It's not a case of whether he's good enough, that's always debatable it's whether he can make a difference. Our fundamental problem is not the lack of individual skills it's a combination of belief and approach. Our belief is almost non-existent and our approach doesn't produce goals, I just doubt Hendrie has enough about him to alter the level of belief and I can't see his inclusion causing Ollie to change his approach.

Will people please stop saying only because he has been loaned out by Sheffield United that means he most be complete rubbish! not true, maybe he generally isn't happy at the club and not enjoying his time there, so a move back to the Midlands may do him a world of good. I'm pretty sure he has signed for good reasons and wants to play some football, believe it or not players can be poor at one club and perform a lot better at others. I have no doubt that Hendrie is still that same player everybody wanted us to sign in the summer.

Quite. It's not Hendrie's fault and you can't expect one signing to have that sort of effect but sooner or later Holloway will need to make sure all these reliable, experienced Championship players he has signed can actually play together as a team week in, week out.

looking at the comments on all the blades forums he's not getting much love. He hasn't had a run of games with some consistency though and we all know he's capable of being class in this division. Time will tell.

Unfortunately Hendrie is not at his peak, otherwise I doubt he would be loaned out. City are currently struggling and it may turn out that this move will only add more sorrow to a temperamental player like Hendrie, but I do hope i'm wrong!!!

I hope your wrong as well, but I actually fear you maybe right,Hendrie cannot get into a mediocre Sheff Utd side side and that's nothing to do with the new manager flexing his muscles,if he was good enough he'd be playing!

I believe he'll be dragged down by all the doom and gloom around the walker's and quickly become as anonymous as everyone else,we need to hope we can scrape together enough points to stay up this season and then Mandy needs to get down B&Q and buy the biggest broom he can and give it to Ollie as an end of season pressie!

I must admit Holloway signing Hendrie well known to be an arogant BIG TIME CHARLIE is a bit baffling considering all that stuff he said about wanting players that were good honest hard working family men or something along those lines.

He's well known to be a complete willy puller, can't see him doing any kind of "job" here whatsoever, it seems shef utd fans are more than happy that he's been palmed off to us as well. GREAT.
