davieG Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 GUILTY Over 360 Minutes since a Leicester City player has scored a goal, chance after chance has gone begging especially in the last three games. Give them the service and they will score has been the cry - well the service has been there but where are the goals?Playing well is not enough you're payed to score!
lildave3 Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Hume and Fryatt easily the worst culprits. 3 each today at least.
Simi Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 How dare you criticize Fryatt . He's dreadfully unlucky to be on the bench and should start every match, 'cos he'll bag 20 a season. HUUUUUUMMMMEEEE.

How we havent scored against Preston & Bristol I will never know & by the way - Barry Hayles is well ugly
Joe. Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 You can't give stick to Fryatt davieg. It's not allowed. He's untouchable.
Bert Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Some people are getting a bit carried away with all this moaning about player bias. Get over it for fook sake and support the team. I'm not defending any of the strikers here because they should've scored at least 1 today, whether they were glaring misses or class saves from Basso. Get behind them! People moan when we don't and now when people are trying to get behind the players give them some confidence, they get shot down for being "biased"

You missed Oakley off that list, he missed 2 sitters.
davieG Posted 8 March 2008 Author Posted 8 March 2008 You missed Oakley off that list, he missed 2 sitters. But that's not his primary role this guys are paid to score!
colbo68 Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I would def drop Howard - can't see what he brings to the team - very average in the air, no pace, very little effort - I'd play DJ for his pace and Matty for his finishing. I'm very surprised at Hume today - the best finisher in our side should have bagged at least one of his chances - I hope the missed chances today against a very average Bristol side dont cost us our place in the Championship
Steven Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 How dare you criticize Fryatt . He's dreadfully unlucky to be on the bench and should start every match, 'cos he'll bag 20 a season.HUUUUUUMMMMEEEE. Your most sensible post yet. Wibble wibble.

The Reverend Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 They were all piss-poor today, Hume should of had a hat trick in the first half, Campbell just looked average, Howard although the keeper made a great save from his shot in the last minute, looked immobile and disinterested, Fryatt was just Fryatt, nowhere to be seen and Hayles though pushed out to the wing, perhaps should of had a penalty, but had the ball about 6 times and muct of gave it away 5.

Stevosevic Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I thought DJ played really well, our best player today along with Hendrie and Clapham, need goals though.
Mort Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I agree we really should of signed Hasselbaink I'm actually starting to regret that pre-season debacle...
Lovejoy Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I thought DJ played really well, our best player today along with Hendrie and Clapham, need goals though. I agree with that, those 3 stood out today.
Jimmy Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I honestly don't remember Fryatt having a really clear cut chance, I thought they were mainly half chances
The Reverend Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I honestly don't remember Fryatt having a really clear cut chance, I thought they were mainly half chances Fryatt's chance came when the ball dropped perfectly at his feet about 10/12 yards out, and he blazed it over the bar.
Jimmy Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Fryatt's chance came when the ball dropped perfectly at his feet about 10/12 yards out, and he blazed it over the bar. oh yeah that 1, still that's 1 chance compared to golden boy Hume's hat-full yet I still heard people asking why he was taken off, they didn't argue when I said he'd been quite shit though
Koke Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 oh yeah that 1, still that's 1 chance compared to golden boy Hume's hat-full yet I still heard people asking why he was taken off, they didn't argue when I said he'd been quite shit though I'll tell you what - Lets put Fryatt on the left or right wing for at least half the season and when he plays absolute shit, will you be the first one to crucify him and rip him into the pieces? This isn't aimed at you personally, but more at the Fryatt bum boys. Yes Hume should have buired those 2 chances but for the love of God, the lad has been shifted around left, right and centre and still puts in half decent performances in wherever he plays. And he still has 8 or 9 goals to his account this season. I'm not his biggest fan but who would I have up front as a centre forward, Hume or Fryatt? I wouldn't even bloody hesitate.

I wouldn't even bloody hesitate. that's not the point, the problem is Hume is visibly sulking on the pitch when playing in midfield, and when he chases the ball down to win it the crowd all go "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME" most of them not realizing that he's normally the one that lost it in the 1st place, and when Clapham/Stearman has the ball and is advancing he hardly ever makes a run up the line to give the full back more then 1 option, mostly he drops in behind him
Thracian Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 All our forwards, plus Oakley and Hendrie, were guilty of missing chances and I'm quite sure it showed that nervousness and anxiety are creeping into our play. Holloway and, indeed, the fans now, should focus on the number of really good chances we created and I had to wonder was it just coincidence that Clemence was missing?. One fan going out thought we could have had eight. That was never likely and he conveniently ignored Bristol's two or three near things. But we really might have had five. However, I mentioned a month ago that nervousness would be a big enemy if we didn't start scoring goals and winning and this was probably the first game that nervousness has truly manifested itself. Today's performance was a good one except for the finishing but it's Holloway who has the responsibility to get the players believing that, with endless patience, the ball will go in if they only keep believing in making the runs into the box. Blaming people won't help the situation one bit but I do believe Holloway needs to look at which players are most likely to deliver the goals he needs. And I certainly wouldn't describe Mattock as a better bet than Andy King for scoring/creating things.

If he was as good as everyone makes out, he would of buried it and started a rout.
