He has played right wing virtually all season!

Name the goals he has scored playing up front then.

piss off he's hardly played there all season just about the last 7 and a couple at the start

In fact I can only remember 2 goals from midfield, 1 against Watford in August and 1 against Norwich

Did you see the game on sat and the last few for that matter.

DJ was best player on the pitch by a million miles. Holloways decision to take him off was shocking

It's decisions like that which make me so concerned about our survival chances.

To me we had em by the throat and voluntarily relaxed the pressure.

Does anyone else think that DJ campbell is really beginning to find his form now he has had a run in the team even though he isnt scoring. I think that he is sharper and quicker than he has been this season. He has been working hard than ever chasing down balls. For example against bristol there were a few times he put pressure on bristols back line and they made a mess of it (one of humes chances were made by DJ because, he pressured their CB's. He also, created the other chance for hume. Finally, for a small player he holds the ball up excellently and brings other players into the game.

Agree/Disagree.

I think we need a big clearout of the forwards as there goals per game records are appaulling for us, you have to say it as you see it and they have not cut it at Leicester to a man, so flog um off lets get some new blood in, people who can find the back of the net with consistancy co's we are going nowhere with this lot...

I honestly do not know why Holloway took him off yesterday. He was magnificent, running around, causing mayhem for their defence, then he brings on Hayles and the attacking momentum dies out a bit. Easily the best game I have seen him play, and the hardest he has worked.

Umm.... cuz he is a poor finisher!...no real pace...can't score!...pathetic and needs to go!...hows that?

No real pace?

Looks to me like hes our quickest striker at this moment in time, whos pacier in your opinion then?

Hes scored more than Fryatt has, Cort and MDV did aswell?

:giggle:

All you DJ idiots need to realise something...we are in serious "do do"...more serious now than before..we have 2 games coming up whre we are gonna end up with nil points and then we are going in to easter in a relegation place and fighting for our survival...this is the most critical perod in the history of Leicester City Football Club!

Wolves and QPR away  Both free kicks but he played in midfield for both those games!

DJ Campbell does not have the tools in his locker to be a regular scorer at Championship level and is a lower league striker in my opinion.

The guy had pace and a good attitude and that is to his credit, however when you look at his recent run in the team he just looks devoid of any genuine ruthless edge infront of goal.

He will often end up wide and out of the picture or will lose the ball before even getting a shot in.

As for Howard he is another that has sadly caught the LCFC lethargic disease.

Saturday he was not motivated, confident or forceful enough in his game.

He allowed himself to be bossed out of sitatuations and was not willing to chase down balls or follow up for second phase play and looked like he was going through the motions.

The free header from a corner he back passed to the Bristol keeper just about summed up his performances of late.

And for me herein lies our fundamental problem.

Up front we have Campbell who is not of a quality to score in the Championship along with Howard who has lost the will to try to score.

Add to that a 4-4-2 system where we have 2 wide positions being filled by strikers and it's no wonder we are in the shit.

However young they are, or however controversial the decisions may seem given the squad at hand the manager has to pick two wide men who are genuine wide players that can deliver a cross, and in turn he must get the most motivated strikers up front regardless of cost, wages or status.

And if that means youth team players or Matty Fryatt or whatever he needs to get on and do it before it's too late.

Disagree, he is shocking!

What a waste of money, another awful allen signing.

He is only good as a supersub, thats all he did at birmingham!

And the likes of HuUUuuuuuMmme,Fatty Fryatt and Howard have REALLY got us the goals this year havent they????(ok...Perhaps if it wasnt for Hume we REALLY would be fcuked, but he didnt do himself justice on Sat did he?)

I dont mind people knocking DJ but im sure he'll come good EVENTUALLY!!!

I dont see many knocking Howard or Fatty for their lack of goals.

I thought he was great on saturday, reminded me a bit of when conolly was here and not scoring though, Because he's not in the goals he's doing work in deeper areas. Its a shame that the chances we got didn't fall to him he might have tucked one away.

I rate Deej.

His pace cause defences all sorts of troubles as we have seen over the last few games. He has impressed me since coming back from his injury. Now he just needs a goal to get his confidence up and then im sure he will start to score a bit more often.

I agree, I think he is looking alot sharper and more dedicated to the team, lets hope his hard work can be transfered onto the scoresheet sooner rather than later, he deserves some spoils.

Livewire DJ Campbell is playing through the pain barrier in the cause of Leicester City's fight for Championship survival.

The 26-year-old striker received a standing ovation from the Walkers Stadium crowd when he was substituted after 75 minutes of Saturday's goalless draw with leaders Bristol City.

However, Campbell's man-of-the-match display belied the fact that he is still troubled by a pelvic injury which kept him out for nearly three months at the tail end of last year.

"It was something that needed resting for seven months but I've had only three months and it has to be managed properly," he said.

"After games, it's really sore but it's not the sort of thing that I can get an operation for because it's a bone injury.

"The bone is worn down and it gets hot, but the tablets I've been using are helping because it's been making the bone stronger.

"But it's tough, especially when we've just had three games in a week."

And Campbell has promised fans that there is "more to come" when he is fully fit.

He said: "The down side is that I want to give my all and, in one respect, I feel I can't. I'm doing okay but once it completely heals, I'll be much better."

Despite drawing with the Championship leaders, Campbell said Saturday's result "felt like a defeat."

He said: "If you look at our league position, it's ridiculous when you think we've battered the top team and, no exaggeration, we could have won 8-0."

City carved out 22 goal attempts in what Campbell described as "the most one-sided game I've been involved in."

He said: "Their keeper (Adriano Basso) was outstanding, probably the one player who really stood out. He made some great saves to keep them in it.

"We had some good chances but didn't take them, so we have to make sure that if they come along against Southampton we take full advantage.

"What we have to take into the game is that we've just played the top of the league when we are fighting for our lives, and we've dominated the match.

"I'm sure if we play like that in games to come, we'll be fine."

I think you'll find he's scored more goals from right wing than upfront.
