We should get enough points to be mathmatically safe as soon as possible.

It's between us, you, Coventry, Southampton, Norwich & Barnsley for the last relegation place. Preston look to have turned the corner and the teams above them only really have to win 2 or even 1 game. I think it'll be Southampton that go down. They have a very difficult run-in, and they are by far the worst side I've seen at Hillsborough this season. Don,t know if anyone is watching Celtic v Aberdeen but Maybury is having a cracking game for Aberdeen. He had a stormer. Best player on the pitch.

We should get enough points to be mathmatically safe as soon as possible. Absolutely. I'd be surprised if the manager is even interested in who plays who. It is fairly plain the survival mark will be around 53/54 points and that's what we need to aim for because if we get to that target - and it means fielding a team that's positive enough to get the goals necesssary, then one of the others will falter, no question, because of all the games involving other teams who are facing the drop. We need to have the same determination and focus home and away and we need to banish all uncertainty so that we all move forward when we have the ball and all defend when we've lost it. We need our crowd in good voice and we need all our players to be the same, supporting and cajolling the best out of one another whether we're one ahead, one down or whether we're five minutes into a game or five minutes from time. There should be no change in our desire to score when have the ball or to recover when we've lost it. If we do that we have the equipment to survive but if we start trying to sit back on 1-0's or to play out a draw because we're away from home we could end up piling totally unnecessary pressure on ourselves. The psychology is important and Holloway needs to get it right. Other teams will be feeling pressure just as we are. Against Southampton we never took advantage of that despite the Saints being there for the taking. We were never more than half committed and we paid for it. Against West Brom we got a break, took advantage then never really stopped driving that advantage home. Could we have better examples of what to do and what not to do? We should aim to win our own survival not simply wait or hope that others lose.

Would be a huge 3 points for either side. I fink it would be gud if we wen out and tried to win evre game we eva played in. I fink I would be really really really much happier if we did. Darkzzz_ Posted 19 March 2008 Posted 19 March 2008 Yeah it is all down to us at the end of the day. I must admit i am nervous about Hull, they are on fire at the minute. I just hope we go and get that back to back win and then push on for survival.
