Without being biased, I reckon coming towards the last 3 games, it'll be a two horse race between Saints and Coventry. Not sure I agre with this. Southampton are 2 points clear of us. they play cardiff away on saturday the week before the fa cup semi vs barnsley. I can see them also beating Sheff utd at home on the last day of the season especially as they will probably have nothing to play for. that would give them a total of 52 points. They are drawing a lot of games at the moment so add 1 point in there for good measure that gives them 53 easily attainable. Coventry have a big game this sat vs Plymouth who are unpredictable away so they could and probably need to win that one. The interesting side for me are Barnsley. They play Burnley this weekend away which would be tough even without the Fa cup semi the week after to take their minds off it. They lost at home to Sheff utd last time out and it is only their home form which has been keeping them up. They have to play Hull at home as well as us. Their away trips are tricky. They might only get another 6 or 7 points meaning 52/53 in total. I appreciate your optimism but I tink it will be between 4 sides on the last 2 games, us, barnsley, saints and coventry, I think sheff wed will be out of it by then. as it stands It looks like we will need 54 points to do it or very possily 53 with goal difference playing a big part. 3 wins minimum.

Do you think thats more than enough or not? I think a team on 52 points will go down this season. 53 might just scrape it, that's why we need at least 9 more points (3 wins). I just think there's too many biggish teams down there that have squads capable of winning games under certain circumstances. I know these teams haven't won much this season, but looking at Southampton, Sheff Wed and even The Shitters, there are players in their squads that are capable of producing something. Let's just hope it doesn't happen.

I was dreading us signing him, but the lad has done very well in a piss poor Colchester team this season. Likewise Darren Byfield, we were linked with him as well!

Just don't see any extra quality in sides to justify needing more points going down in a division was has become more competitive season upon season.

Southampton have signed Luton Town's former Spurs defender Chris Perry on loan until the end of the season. The 34-year-old will cover the long-term absence of Andrew Davies and fill the void left by the recent retirement of Claus Lundekvam. Perry told BBC Radio Solent: "It's a fantastic opportunity for me; I jumped at the chance to down." Perry goes straight into the Saints squad for Saturday's Championship match away at Cardiff City.

It all points to City being safe! Leicester City should beat the drop - at least that is what an analysis of the vital last few weeks of the season suggests. The relegation issue looks set to hinge on the clashes between the sides at the bottom of the table. And a Leicester Mercury analysis of the games left for the eight teams battling to avoid the drop suggests City should pull clear. But, of course, football does not always go to form. The Mercury's match-by-match predictions of the vital fixtures suggest that City should finish on 54 points, with Southampton joining S****horpe and Colchester in the bottom three at the end of the campaign. City, currently fourth from bottom with 44 points from 40 games, play the teams below them - S****horpe, Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester - in their final three home games. And, if they play to their best, Ian Holloway's men should win all three, hopefully starting with S****horpe on Saturday. It is a similar story for other teams near the bottom. It's that kind of thinking, that we're not really in danger of relegation, tha we're only a couple of wins off the play-offs that's made our players forget the mess we're in and how they need to up their game. The most irritating thing about that article is that if the writer had done one iota of research (or, if a City fan, used his memory), he would know that we only drew at Colchester and S****horpe this season while we have beaten Bristol City and West Brom away and Watford at home. I don't think it particularly matters who we play from now on. Either the players are motivated and on form or they're not. This division is so tight that any of the teams we are yet to play at home could turn us over if we are not on absolute top form. And if we were on absolute top form, we could beat anyone as we have demonstrated in numerous games this season. It's an awful article and the fans who share that view have got their heads in the sand. We need to approach each game (yes, even the aways at scary places like Barnsley for christ's sake) as if we will win if we fight for it.

It's just spacefilling guesswork that has no relevence whatsoever. Our real results this season show that we could as easily lose to any of our last six opponents as win. In fact the statistics show that we are utterly inconsistent and therefore unpredictable.
