Yeah it is all down to us at the end of the day. I must admit i am nervous about Hull, they are on fire at the minute.

I just hope we go and get that back to back win and then push on for survival.

we have a reasonable record against form sides (Palace and Norwich come to mind plus Watford and Bristol earlier in the season) . I think a draw is the least we will get from this- I'm more nervous about underperforming in these crucial home games against the bottom 3 - every time you think we're set for a mini run of good results it goes pear shaped .

Every year a side that have never looked in huge danger plunge into relegation as a result of crap results in the last 2 or 3 games let's hope it isn't us this year.

Barnsley aren't out of it yet. They are distracted by the Fa Cup at the moment, like we were when we got to the quarter-finals in 2005, and our league form suffered.

Absolutely. I'd be surprised if the manager is even interested in who plays who.

It is fairly plain the survival mark will be around 53/54 points and that's what we need to aim for because if we get to that target - and it means fielding a team that's positive enough to get the goals necesssary, then one of the others will falter, no question, because of all the games involving other teams who are facing the drop.

We need to have the same determination and focus home and away and we need to banish all uncertainty so that we all move forward when we have the ball and all defend when we've lost it.

We need our crowd in good voice and we need all our players to be the same, supporting and cajolling the best out of one another whether we're one ahead, one down or whether we're five minutes into a game or five minutes from time. There should be no change in our desire to score when have the ball or to recover when we've lost it.

If we do that we have the equipment to survive but if we start trying to sit back on 1-0's or to play out a draw because we're away from home we could end up piling totally unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

The psychology is important and Holloway needs to get it right. Other teams will be feeling pressure just as we are. Against Southampton we never took advantage of that despite the Saints being there for the taking. We were never more than half committed and we paid for it.

Against West Brom we got a break, took advantage then never really stopped driving that advantage home.

Could we have better examples of what to do and what not to do?

We should aim to win our own survival not simply wait or hope that others lose.

We need to focus on what we do, take care of ourselves. We have got our noses back out of the shit, we need to step it up and pull away from the bottom three by winning more matches. We need that back to back wins. If we can get it on Saturday then it gives us a great chance to really abolish any threat of relegation. Next weekend is S****horpe at home, another massive game for us and a game we can win if we all pull together and stay positive.

It's in our hands, if we go down then we only have ourselves to blame. I expect at least another 4 wins out of the remaining 7 games. If we do that, then we'll stay up. Do the job.

I think i'd actually prefer a "harder" run in for us personally, Because the 'bigger' teams of this league doing well, and up there we seem to do better against rather than the teams we are competing and battling against relegation with. Whether its due to the players raising their games against the better teams in this league and going into the games against the 'smaller' teams thinking we don't really need to perform or play against them, surly our players can't be that simple though?!

The nice thing is, Its almost in our hands, Sheff Wed do have 2 games in hand over us, and even if we win every game (Unlikely) if they win all there games (Also unlikely) we'll go down (Depend on other teams I spose) but in reality it really is in our own hands, If we do go down we deserve to. We play the teams around us, If you look at the bigger picture there are a fair few teams above us who could and probably will be dragged into it. We as fans don't need to make any excuse it's not our fault but if we go down I won't be making any excuses.

I agree. Although they've done remarkably well in the cup they've looked rather suspect in the CCC. I was at Oakwell a few weeks ago and they were awful. That was right bang in between the Liverpool & Chelsea results too. They couldn't string 2 passes together and rarely threatened our goal. Definitely 2 points dropped for us that day.

The best teams to play towards the end of the season are the ones who have nothing to play for. No chance of playoffs and mathematically safe. We appear to be 2 teams on the up and with a decent set of teams to play against. A number of the teams Southampton have to play are at the other end of the table. I think we'll both survive.

I'm looking forward to it. We tend to play well at your place. Personally I think we'll both stay up. Southampton to go down for me. Don't discount Norwich either. Both dropping like stones.

Barnsley is an interesting one.

Tranmere Rovers were cup run specialists a few years back, and their league form used to collapse as the later rounds beckoned.

Barnsley's players are only human after all, and they could well find themselves embroiled in a relegation dog-fight, especially if they win their semi-final.

Personally i think this weekend is crucial. We really need to stay with sides like Norwich and Southampton especially as cov and sheff wed have played less games than us.

I think it will take 54-56 points to be certain of staying up as it looks at the moment. We really need to beat Hull but they are playing very well at the moment and scoring plenty of goals.

This weekend also sees the following tasty fixtures.

Southampton vs cov

Norwich vs Colchester.

Sheff wed are at home to palace and I feel we need to see a palace win there.

Barnsley are still in a spot of troube as well but their home form looks pretty good and this will probably keep them up.

If southampton and Norwich both win and we lose then I think it is 1 from us cov and sheff wed.

Personally I would love Cov to go down as they are all ******!

Southampton and Sheff Wed not too fussed and Barnsleh and Blackpool are smaller so not so much of a shock so I would like them to stay up.

I reckon, if Cov lose this weekend, they will really struggle to get out of it. If you look at their remaining fixtures, this is one they HAVE to win.

Now that is one hard fixture list!! Out of those, which ones can you actually see them winning? I can't even see them winning at Colchester, i mean Cov lost to S****horpe away the other week and Colchester have scored in all but 2 of their home games this season, that is gonna be a tough game. The only one i can really see them winning is Plymouth at home.

Just been checking fixture lists, and I must say, that we have to be careful. We better start winning them home games against bottomhalf teams. Also I do not think that Blackpool, Preston and Barnsley are out of it yet, so 3 points against Hull could make us catch up with those 3 and make the last relegation spot a toss between us, Cov, S'hampton, Wed, PNE, Barnsley, Norwich and Blackpool. I think that both S****horpe and Colchester need a miracle to stay up, and that Cardiff, Sheff Utd and QPR are out of the 'race'.

Its still all a bit to nervy for my liking..... (But if we win all our remaining games we are mathematically safe, so its in our own hands)
