mancunianfox Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 With many of our players returning from injuries or suspensions what kind of team will we field on Saturday. Will we field an attacking side or will he take a cautious approach. Are we doomed and is the team selection inconsequential??? I hope that we start with something along the lines of... Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo Mcauley Mattock Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Bell Howard Hume Douglas, N'Gotty, Wesolowski, Hayles, Campbell

Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo Mcauley Mattock Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Bell Howard Hume Douglas, N'Gotty, Wesolowski, Hayles, Campbell Alnwick? I'd go with:- Alnwick Stearman Kisnorbo Bruno Mattock Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Bell Howard Hume/Hayles Subs:- Dj, Hume/Hayles, Weso, Clapham, Mcauley.
James. Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 I'd go with that. Players playing where they should be. That said Hendrie can still be influential on the right of midfield so it might be worth considering playing Wesolowski in the middle with Oakley and leaving Etuhu on the bench as a potential "impact" substitute. By THAT I mean the first team by mancunianfox.

Flexx Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Alnwick Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Bell Oakley Weso Hendrie Howard Hume Subs: Bruno, Etuhu, Clapham, Fryatt, DJ
James. Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Or Bell on the right were he normally plays with Hendrie on the left. That's the one... something didn't seem quite right with what I said!
Tilley Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Henderson Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock Wesolowski Hendrie Oakley Hume Howard Campbell Subs: Alnwick. N'Gotty. Bell. Hayles. Fryatt.
Messi Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Alnwick being back maye change things abit but this is the team i want to see: Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Bell Hendrie Oakley Laczko Howard Hume Bench: Alnwick, Bruno, Weso, Campbell, Fryatt
dandannieldanok Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 I'd be disappointed to see Hendrie on the left, although he's done an admirable job in this league playing there, he operates much better in the middle. Bell on the other hand, showed real promise in that position on Saturday, even if it may not be his best. Hendo Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Clapham Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Bell Howard Hume Subs: Alnwick, N'Gotty, Weso, Fryatt, Hayles
blueoveru Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Cant see why Hume has to be in the picture...headless chicken who comes up with a goal not very often, and lets the side down with wayward passes the majority of the time
mancunianfox Posted 8 April 2008 Author Posted 8 April 2008 Cant see why Hume has to be in the picture...headless chicken who comes up with a goal not very often, and lets the side down with wayward passes the majority of the time He is still our best chance of a goal. He has a decent scoring record considering how many games he has been played out of position this season. Player Apps Goals Goals per Games Elvis Hammond 58 8 1 in 7 Barry Hayles 14 2 1 in 7 Matty Fryatt 76 11 1 in 7 Mark De Vries 51 8 1 in 6 DJ Campbell 19 4 1 in 5 Iain Hume 119 30 1 in 4 Steve Howard 14 6 1 in 3
Koke Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Cant see why Hume has to be in the picture...headless chicken who comes up with a goal not very often, and lets the side down with wayward passes the majority of the time This season Hume - 7 goals Howard - 6 Fryatt - 2 King Baz - 2 Dudley - not sure Fact is Hume is better than Dudley, Fryatt and King Baz. So he should play.

Webbo Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 AlnwickStearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Bell Oakley Wesolowski © Hendrie Campbell Hume Not bad though I think I'd prefer Alnwick to have a little match practice before I brought him back. Secondly I still prefer Fryatt to Hume and Howard for Campbell.
Simi Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Not bad though I think I'd prefer Alnwick to have a little match practice before I brought him back. Secondly I still prefer Fryatt to Hume and Howard for Campbell. Despite him missing the most easiest of chances in games gone by?
eye666 Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Big match, must win, go on the offensive. 4-3-3. Henderson Stearman McCauley Kisnorbo Mattock Bell Oakley Hendrie Hume Howard Campbell
Webbo Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Despite him missing the most easiest of chances in games gone by? At least he's making chances, he'll come good (I hope).
Joe. Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Alnwick Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Bell Oakley Hendrie Etuhu Hume Howard I'm not sure whether Hume or Kelvin are fit enough for this one though.
Simi Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 At least he's making chances, he'll come good (I hope). I hope he comes good as well, despite me not liking him as a player that much! But he just hasn't shown it lately I'm afraid. People have said give him games from the start, he's had that and not taken the opportunity I'm sorry to say. When Hume gets his fitness I'd replace Fryatt with him. But I guess we'll have to stick at it for this one as him and DJ both will lack match fitness.
