Guest Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Hendo Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Mattock / Clapham (if fit) Hendrie Oakley King / Weso Bell Hume Howard EDIT: Actually, I've just read that McAuley may not be available so if not I'd have Bruno / Worley in there instead
clazkel Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Our Championship status is on the line here, and this is not some meaningless end of season game. I am aware of that, i have been every home game this season and quite afew away games, including the last 2 so i know how important it is to win on saturday.
Sods Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Alnwick Stearman Kisnorbo N'Gotty Mattock Bell Wesolowski Oakley Hendrie Hayles Hume Subs. Deej, Zsolt, McAuley, Chambers, Howard.
Thracian Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Alnwick; Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock; Bell, Oakley, Hendrie, Beswick; Hume, Howard. Subs: Chambers, King, Wesolowski, Fryatt, Campbell. Balance, movement, a bit more pace, proper free-kicks and reasonable goals potential with addition attackers on the bench if/when needed..

Sods Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Really hope N'Gotty starts and McAuley is not in the team. His last few peformances have been very poor.
act smiley Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 Howard A.Chambers/DJ Campbell Hume Hendrie Wesolowski Oakley Mattock N'Gotty Kisnorbo Stearman Alnwick Subs:Henderson, J.Chambers, Bell, Etuhu/Laczko/Bori, Hayles/other-striker That kind-of 4-3-3 thing that Newcastle are doing at the minute. Might work, if Hume could be trusted to make proper runs rather than getting bored and running around to grab the ball from absurd positions.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 AlnwickStearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock; Bell, Oakley, Jimbo, Hendrie. Hume, Howard. That would be my team as well, with Laczko coming on with 30 mins to go to try and run them ragged (blind hope).
Thracian Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 That would be my team as well, with Laczko coming on with 30 mins to go to try and run them ragged (blind hope). It's the obvious and most likely team and as good a shout as any. For me though pushing Hendrie onto the wing is a bit of a compromise. He's okay there but best in the middle and with Oakley and Weso in the centre I don't see they're likely to score. Hendrie's our best chance of that and, by using Beswick, we also get another potential scorer and a specialist free-kick/corner taker. Beswick is a natural left-sider who has also played countless times in partnership with Mattock and has experience of the full-back and wing positions whereas Laczko is just a winger and not one who has scored or made many goals as yet. That's my reasoning but I'm not expecting anyone else, especially at the club, to see it that way. We'll go with as much experience as we can.
davieG Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I don't do teams anymore but if I did it would probably be the best team ever!

Ultra Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Alnwick Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo MattockBell Oakley Wesolowski HendrieHume Howard With subs: Chambers, N'Gotty, Etuhu, Hayles, Campbell I suspect Clapham and Fryatt may feature in the 16 though.. As Beswick is currently playing left-back in the reserves, I doubt he'll be brought into the first team to play further forward, certainly not at this stage.

hairy Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 As Colchester are now officially down they might even field a young team in need of experience against us. Well heres hoping anyway.
Guest shearfox Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 As Colchester are now officially down they might even field a young team in need of experience against us. Well heres hoping anyway. Colchester are relegated this early for a reason, if we are good enough for this league we shouldn't need the team at the bottom to field a weakened team
scinnell Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 With many of our players returning from injuries or suspensions what kind of team will we field on Saturday. Will we field an attacking side or will he take a cautious approach. Are we doomed and is the team selection inconsequential???I hope that we start with something along the lines of... Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo Mcauley Mattock Etuhu Oakley Hendrie Bell Howard Hume Douglas, N'Gotty, Wesolowski, Hayles, Campbell henderson stearman mcculy kisnorbo clapham bell oakley clemance hendrie hume levi porter subs r. douglas bruno n'gotty joe mattock stve howard elvis hammond
