Simi Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 Kisnorbo, apart from his occasionally cock-ups, has been rather solid. Stearman was wank pre-Holloway and has only got his finger out at Christmas time. I vote for Sergio Hellings. I saw him warm up at Chelsea, and my mind was made up there and then. Kisnorbo is so overrated it's unreal.
filbertway Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Cheds right. He heads fairly well and is strong, what else does he do?
Simi Posted 9 April 2008 Author Posted 9 April 2008 I think we should get a table and just sing Iwan is a Welshman all the way through the awards until he makes a special appearance.
Koke Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Kisnorbo is so overrated it's unreal. He does little wrong. Okay, he hoofs it and he does have his cock-ups occasionally, but he has saved our arses many times with tackles + goals at the the other end. Not saying he's a world beater, but he's been one of our better players. Doesn't say much with the players we have, I know. But there you go..
Fatbloke Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Ched`s wrong, VERY wrong, PK`s very solid in all aspects of his defensive game, and he has scored a goal or 2 in his time too, very commited to the cause as well. it matters to him and that shows !

Kisnorbo >> All the defenders at our club + Paddy McCarthy.

Doesn't say much with the players we have, I know. But there you go.. He does the basics well. But his general awareness is poor. I've seen him so many times stroll out of his position to chase something that's not his. The hoofing is a much bigger problem than people make out as well. An attack starts at the back and with him constantly hoofing forward it affects the whole mentality of the team. Always invites unnecessary pressure on us when we need to get hold of games and maintain possession. Am I? Thanks. Defensive game, yes he covers that fairly well, the basics. But apart from that he struggles.
Joe. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Kisnorbo's distribution is very poor. And he's also stupid sometimes (just take your hands off his ****ing back man!) But on the whole I think he's a very good defender. Wins virtually everything in the air, tackles well and always gives everything. Handy from set-pieces too, although not got as many as he would have liked this season.

I think exactly the same of McAuley, even though others don't. They're incredibly similiar imo.
Tevez Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I'm not that keen Kisnorbo at all! He always gives away stupid fouls. My opinion though. As for player of the season I have no clue, but I'm sure it will be Stearman or Hume.

Joe. Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I think exactly the same of McAuley, even though others don't.They're incredibly similiar imo. I'd agree with you there. I'm a big fan of McAuley and generally there's barely nothing to seperate them in matches.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Is this an excuse for an all night drinking binge? April 28 you say. I guess it's a good enough excuse for any sort of inevitable poor performance at Stoke. Player of the year? I'm struggling to come up with any name for any player over the last 4 seasons, never mind this one.
Koke Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I'd chose Kisnorbo over McAuley any day of the week. They both shit at distribution, but everything else Kisnorbo is better than McAuley in my humble opinion.

In your opinion. As I've said his distribution is poor. He gives fouls away in needless positions, look at Palaces equaliser earlier in the season! His positioning and awareness are not great at times. Southampton away was painful watching him get exposed every single time.
Matt Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I've just sent my vote to that e-mail address, saying is this a joke? no-one deserves it, and said if anyone Fulop and he's not here what does that tell you? I've also urged them we should/should have signed him even at 3 million imo he's worth it (Considering it was only another 1.5 on top of Howard's price, I know who i'd have preferred) I suggested they create a new award "Worst player of the season", i'm sure they'd get a hell of a lot more votes, interest, and an award the players actually deserve, it'd be a tough decision for me though.
filbertway Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I'd agree with you there.I'm a big fan of McAuley and generally there's barely nothing to seperate them in matches. I'm dissapointed indie and benjani Nowsworthy + Dubes > McAuley (league 1) and Kisnorbo (Hoof)
Webbo Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Wouldn't we be better having a manager of the year award?
filbertway Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Wouldn't we be better having a manager of the year award? Beaglehole.
demon_dog Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Stearman for me, most improved player of the season. Pity we can't vote for Fulop. Bring back Fulop
Thracian Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Stearman. He's played a lot of matches, covered a hell of a lot of ground in the difficult position of wing back, helped our defence to be one of the best in the Championship, improved his consistency, scored three goals (the same as Fryatt) and created a fair number of chances too. His enthusiasm has been there whether we've been winning or losing and whether he's been playing especially well or not.
Father Ted Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Everyone vote for Elvis just to show how p*ssed off we are at the s*it we have had to watch.
sdb Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Stearman?!? dear me, he was rubbish 1st half of the season and is decent (no more) now. Can you vote Fulop?! (maybe this has been discussed) He's been the only player to play well regularly (and it'd help us get him permanently...if we stay up). I guess Kisnorbo otherwise. What a horrible season this has been
