Koke Posted 12 April 2008 Author Posted 12 April 2008 Apparently I used to have an imaginary friend when I was a toddler, talking and playing with him or whatever. Thats what we thought at least. It took years for my dad to admit that he used to see a little boy around the house, but didn't tell anybody about it for fear of people thinking he was mad or soft. We have since found out that a young boy born to the couple from whom my parents bought the house did die aged 6, but not in the house itself. I have no recollection of ever speaking to or even seeing the boy, but its an odd coincidence nevertheless. I'm quite open minded about the possibility of ghosts existing to be honest. You hear enough stories about it, and not everybody telling them can be mad or a liar. I find it far more plausible than any religious teaching anyway. I really hope I don't reach a state where I start seeing people or hearing voices. If I was your dad, I don't think I could keep it to myself the fact that I was seeing an imaginary boy walking around in our house.
DB11 Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 this one has to be real!http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=22e_1206562713 Oh yeah... definitely real
Brainy Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I seem to go around when im alone with an imaginery friend aswell.. perhaps not the same scenario as yours, but I seem to like.. tell it things that are concerning me or on my mind. Its a really odd case, im not sure whether its normal or not. On ghosts though, I stayed in a holiday home in Devon a few years ago. I found out a year ago that it was haunted by a young girl who apparently stood at the bottom of the stairs crying at night. Glad I didnt know at the time though - I dont think id have wanted to stay there much longer.

Daggers Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 This is crying out for some Patrick Swayze/Ghost/cancer related image.I place my trust in Disco Bob to create one, or Master Fox to find one. I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago. Post No.9, in fact.
lee7 Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Ghosts do exist! I saw one at Bramall Lane last week, it stuck its leg out and Billy Sharp fell over it.
Tabou Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 I used to have an imaginary friend called John. He was really cool, sorta like an astronaught, but like, without the spaceship. He used to come everywhere with me. Sure, we'd argue, and sometimes it was pretty violent. I used to get beat up quite badly on occassions, but we always settled our differences. It's amazing what a hobnob and a hug can do for friends. Last I heard, he was doing some charity work in Peru.
Tabou Posted 15 April 2008 Posted 15 April 2008 Reminds me of that family guy sketch with the news readers.... Tom - "In other news, local family have house ravaged by ghosts. Who are they gonna call Diane?" Diane - "Ghostbusters, tom" Tom - "Noo, their insurance company. That's just stupid what you said."
kylestyle06 Posted 15 April 2008 Posted 15 April 2008 I went Belgrave hall Got a few pictures, some with really clear orbs on.. thnik its bullshit though TBH, btu have seen some scary shit!

Zingari Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 which footballer was nicknamed "the ghost" or did i imagine that there was one i think it may have been martin peters ,but not sure , does anyone else remember him having this nickname ?
Smudge Posted 17 April 2008 Posted 17 April 2008 i think it may have been martin peters ,but not sure , does anyone else remember him having this nickname ? Wingless Wonders As the tournament began Ramsey was still experimenting, still unsure as to whether to risk playing without wingers as he tried one-winger systems. Martin Peters was not a winger but a left-sided midfielder, capable of attacking and defending, and this was what Ramsey needed. Peters also had exceptional tactical skill, positioning and anticipation, leading to his nickname of 'The Ghost' at West Ham, so often arriving in the box where no defender expected him. Peters was left out of the opening match, a tentative 0-0 draw with Uruguay, but back in for the two other group matches, 2-0 wins against Mexico and France, although Ramsey was still playing with a winger on the right. In the knockout stage though, Ramsey went for broke, and settled on Alan Ball as the right midfielder and Peters on the left.

Fox92 Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 So, I thought we'd had a ghost thread before and I found it. Anyway, I watched 'ghosts of the London Underground' last night, and although I wouldn't say it scared me, it was very interesting. I am not saying that ghosts are, or arn't real, although I believe but some of the stories being told on the programme were scary. Some of you may of heard of the stories, but there was this one in particular that I thought wtf. There was this woman and she took a photo whilst on the underground, and it came out like this: So, down under the surface, there is a man in an electric chair in the background. What the? Anyway, a wax model of this man sits in Madame Tussauds: Apparently his name is Bruno Hauptmann. The woman who took the photo went on to say she took a friend to a medium (I know ). She said, she waited outside and when her friend was finished, the medium came outside and said she had been in contact with the man in the photo. Pretty scary if you ask me. Anyway, there were loads of interesting, sometimes scary, stories. Some people are into this sort of thing. Just wondered what everyone else thought's were? I mean, that Michael Jackson ghost looked pretty real, etc..
Rincewind Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 No reason to be scared. I am sure there is some rational explanation for the photo and you hinted yourself that the medium part was questionable. The majority of 'ghost' sightings have had scientific explanations. The research and available tests. have advanced since the first ghost photo was produced.
stourbridgefox Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 I'm am open minded about ghosts but my wife isn't, she believes. She is generally of sound mind and is it any stranger than believing some beardy bloke knocked us up in his shed in a spare week? But anyway, onto the reason for joining in. Jackie, (my wife) recently asked me to go ghost hunting with her. I readily agreed, as it would be a chance to crawl all over historic buildings at night and you never know, I might find some evidence one way or the other for the existence of ghosts. I now generally believe in ghosts. The second ghost hunt was to Tutbury Castle. Early in the night Jackie and I and a young couple from Derby had a go on a Ouija board. The glass appeared to be moving. A male ghost was spelling things out. He said he lived in the 16th century and knew Oliver Cromwell. He was something to do with the military but he wasn't a good man because he drank, which would be a big thing in Cromwell's England. He seemed playful and would often mess us about. He spelled his name out as Robert Desist. When asked if this was his real name, he answered no. We went upstairs to a different Ouija board. The glass repeated the same information and the medium suggested I was pushing the glass, which got on my nerves greatly. We went into the living room, which for the record is used as the studio on most haunted. A chandelier in on corner began to flash. We went over to the chair under it. We asked questions and the chandelier flickered in apparent answer. I checked whether it was random by asking Robert to make it flicker twice instead of once...it did. The young woman with us took a photo as I put my hand out to shake Robert's hand. On the photo, in the palm of my hand, was a ball of light. The medium types call this an orb. We then went to an outbuilding after asking Robert to come with us. There were some blokes from Essex on the Ouija board in the outbuilding. One bloke seemed to be asking a ghost on there for a fight. You get some nutters at these things! Anyway, the nature of the interactions on that Ouija board changed. They began to ask whatever was moving the board whether it was messing them about. They asked for its name and, you've guessed it, it spelled out Robert Desist. At this point, let's make two things clear. The Essex blokes were not in the room previously when we had spoken to Robert. The second thing is, Jackie and I stood a good ten feet away from the board so there is no way we could have manipulated it. Onto some kind of point. I think it is stretching incredulity further to say this was coincidence than it is to suggest that a ghost actually communicated through various means. If someone else was telling this other than me, I would be looking for a way to disprove it. It has taken a while for me to digest the experiences of that night but the only honest conclusion I can come to is... I experienced evidence of the existence of ghosts and therefore must adjust my personal position on ghosts to that of someone who believes.
