Captain... Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Ghosts do not exist, anyone who thinks they do is an idiot. /thread We understand not even a fraction of 1 percent of the world in which inhabit, anyone who thinks we do is an idiot.
Captain... Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Great opportunity for one of my favourite bands and songs: Aw I thought you had got the reference and had posted this song:
Guest Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 If we have souls then ghosts could exist. My point is that we don't see ghosts some people occasionally just think that they do.
Guest Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Aw I thought you had got the reference and had posted this song: Sorry - I hadn't even got to that post yet. If I had I'd have made a Malazan reference and wondered if anyone picked up on it.
Finnegan Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Yorkshire Rose or cinquefoil? You decide. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...!!!!
purpleronnie Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 We understand not even a fraction of 1 percent of the world in which inhabit, anyone who thinks we do is an idiot. But we do know ghosts dont exist.
Captain... Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 But we do know ghosts dont exist. Do we? There are regular occurrences of the "dead coming back to life", depends on your definition of a ghost really, I do find this iron clad belief that ghosts don't exist very surprising, they could be no more than a presence that is felt by only a few people, but every day there is weird shit going on that we can't explain for example: http://www.metro.co.uk/news/901278-dead-boy-rises-from-his-coffin-to-ask-for-a-drink Kelvin Santos had died of cardiac- respiratory failure and dehydration after a bout of pneumonia and his body was handed to his family for burial. However, just an hour before his funeral, the two-year-old apparently came back to life in his open coffin. His father, Antonio Santos, said: ‘During the wake I held him and said, “Son, come back to daddy”. And a few hours later my son sat up in the coffin and said, “Daddy, give me water”. ‘Everyone was stunned, some people fainted and others started praising God. I gave him a cup of water and everyone started screaming and shouting. ‘Then he lay down again and didn’t move again.’ Mr Santos took his son back to the Aberlardo Santos hospital where doctors re-examined the boy and confirmed he had no signs of life. He said: ‘They assured me that he really was dead and gave me no explanation for what we had just seen and heard.’ The child had been dead for about 20 hours before he rose and his family delayed the funeral for another hour after Mr Santos had returned from the hospital in Belem, northern Brazil. Kelvin did not wake again and he was buried on Saturday. His father believes his son was the victim of medical malpractice and has lodged a complaint with the police. ‘Perhaps they didn’t examine him properly,’ he said. ‘Dead people don’t just wake up and talk. I’m determined to find out the truth.’ Not a ghost as such, but weird as fvck.
Daggers Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 We understand not even a fraction of 1 percent of the world in which inhabit, anyone who thinks we do is an idiot. You really are digging into the shit made-up fact mine with gay abandon.
Rincewind Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 To walk and reason eat people talk you need a body and a brain in order to reason. When you die your brain dies your body dies so without a brain your legs wont move. That would mean an ex-human would have to be alive without the things needed to be alive. That is my way of thinking logically to disprove the existence of ghosts.

Zingari Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I was walking along the other day, and on the road I saw a small dead baby ghost. Although thinking about it, it might have been a handkerchief
Captain... Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 You really are digging into the shit made-up fact mine with gay abandon. Are you that arrogant that you believe we pretty much know everything in the world? We have lots of theories and educated guess work to explain some of the things, but everyday we discover new species, witness new phenomenon, there are vast swathes of the ocean yet explored, not to mention the depths of the earth's crust and its core. We still do not fully understand the human Brain, our quest to know everything of this world is admirable, but there is still a long long way to go. This is without even mentioning the universe in which we float about and its origins and eventual extinction, the billions of years of this earth has been in existence and millions of years it will continue to do so. The collective knowledge of the human race, whilst impressive in comparison to any other known species and growing rapidly, is actually really quite small.

Smudge Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I see people that aren't real in my living room a lot. Sometimes they are just heads on shoulders, especially in the mornings.

Obviously we don't have an explanation for everything, but just because Science can't disprove something doesn't mean it's worthy of consideration. Highly intelligent flying invisible dinosours, for example. Science hasn't proved that they don't exist. Neither has it proved that the tooth fairy doesn't exist. Or Father Christmas. Or God. If you're going to be agnostic about ghosts then there is no limit on the amount of ridiculous things that you will have to concede may exist. I can't believe I'm saying this, but for once I actually agree with Daggers.

I'm arrogant because I laugh at you making up statistics? Your posts are a joke, your evidence is invisible, your logic absent. Show me where this 99% stat comes from. Show me evidence of ghosts. Show me some fact or stop with your immature prattle and rambling, pointless prose.
Rincewind Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 For some people believing in ghosts makes believing in a well known hippie rising from the dead 2000 years ago so much easier.
