Yesterday to me showed the complete lack of professionalism throughout the club. What a mess the club is in. I run a Sunday league club and i wouldn't accept half of the standards witnessed yestreday.

A few points:

1, Preperation is Key. The players strolled out, did a lap with the Birch then all went off into groups. Had a laugh and a joke, lets keep the ball up. I looked over to the Wednesday players, completly different. All in a circle, well drilled, all focussed on the game ahead, team united. Set the tone for the whole day. Our players thought they just needed to turn up yesterday, get the points, easy, job done. Lets have a few shots at goal with the goalkeeping coach. Good stuff.

2, Ball boys. Absoloute joke. They are more interested in keeping the ball up between themselves. Concerned about how they pass the ball back to the player. 2 balls back on the pitch at the same time. The amount of times this season we have had to stop using the multiball system half way through a game. Yes you may think this is not so important, but it is. At Derby, Billy Davies used to have the ball boys at training/academy matches to have them well drilled. All these things make a difference and should be how a proffesional club operates.

3, Holloways Tactics. Disgrace. Im sure our first goal came because the Wednesday Centre half was scared of the pace of Hume? Hume was winning everything. So lets change things second half, move Hume back out to the left, Hayles upfront to use his pace against there 2 slow Centre halfs. Useless. Then when we concede, lets move Hume back upfront becasue he is going to cause the most problems.

Corners. Lets leave Bruno at the back on his own. Great, over 6ft, could be a danger in the opponents box, has no pace, so lets leave him as the last man at the back.

Overlapping. Its ok to have Stearman bombing forward but who is supposed to be covering. Should Weso not be told to cover his back when he pushes forward. Its not hard Mr Holloway, this should be drilled into the players in training. Again no preperation and this problem caused us to conceed a goal.

Substitutions. A shambles. Dont need to touch on this subject. Lets bring on forward after forward and play them out of position.

To top it all off, lets put a Centre half up front. Those days are long gone Holloway. How about we just take off that donkey Howard and instead of pumping up high balls at every opportunity, we have 2 quick, small strikers to cause a slow defence probelms? Its not rocket science.

4, Players at the end of the match. Yes, they have been s**t all season, but they should have stayed out a lot longer than they did to at least show the appreciation to the fans that have backed them all season, home and away.

5, United team. Everyone should be in this fight together. Coming away from the game, bumped into Laczko. Although not in yesterdays squad, shouldn't he be in the changing room at the end of the game, listening to the forward plan.

I gave Holloway the benefit of the doubt when he arrived, but its clear to see, he hasn't got a clue tactically. He should be gone in the summer and bring in Billy Davies who would bring the professionalism back to the club along with some much needed leadership and organisation.

There is no passion at this club and i feel it wouldn't be a bad thing if we was to go done and we started all over again.

It was a massive game yesterday and the players and manager clearly bottled it. If only the players would show some of the passion that the likes of Walsh, Gerry and Muzzy still show to the club. I cant imagine the like of Howard, Oakly and Clemance coming back in years to come.

An awful day at the office yesterday and one that will cost the club big time. :@:@

Why do managers never watch the warm-up before the match? I've never understood this. What do they do when it's taking place?

I agree with your article, you are spot on.

Posted

Lots to agree with there. Has anyone ever noticed how efficiently the ballboys perform the multi-ball system for throw-ins............ only for the team to look completely lost as to where to go next when they get the ball returned. How bloody disorganised is that?

Got a text from Tevez last night.

Seems all the lads went into town (Vice) after the awards last night.

All good points though im sure the players wouldve stayed out if they didnt get the "Your not fit to wear the shirt" treatment. I can understand why people did it but it was a stupid thing to do

Why are you surpised mate? They honestly could not care less. They spout their rubbish about how they "feel for the fans", "our support is superb", "criminal if we go down", but they are probably paid to say that.

Nice to know that while we are despairing, they can still have a good time.

Agree with you. I sit in L1, so had the Sheff Wed players warming up in front of me & they looked, focused, well organised & were actually training and warming up for a football match.

I wouldn't say surprised, just extremely disappointed that this is what they think they can get away with.

I know for a fact that people within the club ask the players to make those messages, so I never take them entirely seriously

If that's true then there all a bunch of W*nkers, sack them all!

I also think youre bang on there alanfox.....

not the biggest issue of all the points youve made, but those ballboys have absolutely no initative.

I really felt holloway was right for our club but like yourself and many others was flabbergasted by some of the

decisions yesterday and i am now rapidly losing faith.

A further point to make which is basic sunday leauge stuff is why the f**k is there no leadership on the pitch?

if it was me id make hendrie captain on sunday as he's got experience, doesn't crumble under the pressure of captaincy

and gives 110%.

Yeah I agree its all the ball boys fault.

And the fans what a shit club we are, all it needs now is for the ball boys and fans to admit they went out on the piss last night - that would be the final straw for me!!!! laugh.gif

Yeah I agree its all the ball boys fault.

Its about everyone pulling in the same direction, the manager, the players, the fans, the ball boys! At the moment its only the fans, hence us being one game away from relegation from this very poor league.

I was watching them taking their shots, oh my god they were dreadful. I have never seen so many balls being blasted high, wide and far away. Anyone sitting the kop from 2.30 - 2.45 would have said, ahh, that'll be why we don't score then.

It's been like that for 4 seasons!

I sit in the North Stand, but always watch our warm-up. Our shooting is awful, hardly any hit the target.

Can't remember how many months ago I said they needed a specialist forwards coach.

I've sometimes watched Stowell feeding the strikers pre-kick-off and he never says anything, and what would he know about it anyway.

The coach needs to be there, quietly making points and focusing players minds.

Again, it's the little things.

We really don't attend to them.

Someone like Tony Cottee or Iwan Roberts would fit this bill fine.

I thought that was Penrice's forte.

According to 'The Book', he is able to get any forward thinking and scoring.

I really ought to stop believing everything I read.

Agree with you alan fox has been a shamble for a couple of seasons always the same. your right about the little things making a diffrence because its true. Leicester as a club are a complete mess now.

Look at Brian Little. Got rid of the pool table in the players room when he arrived. Stamped his authority. If you start with the little things then the bigger ones will follow.

That's why I had high hopes for Levein and Allen but alas one failed on the pitch and one failed - well, where ever.

A very very good post, I couldn't agree more! It is all disorganised and as for Holloway, people kept giving him their support because they craved some stability which, whilst I can understand, I don't agree with. If he was running his own business he'd be bust by now. His constant changing of tactics, team selections, playing players out of position, poor use of substitutions have all wreaked of amateurism. It doesn't say much for MM who couldn't spot this a long time ago. If we were going to go down, I'd I've much rather us have gone down fighting with the kids in administration and some pride rather than with the clowns that are messers Mandaric and Holloway. Leicester City deserve to be relegated so don't lets kid ourselves, though strangely, I don't feel much of a part of it anymore, this team and set up don't appear to have anything to do with their support anymore. This is why that if/when we go down, if MM keeps Ollie on, I shall not after more years than I care to remember, renew our season tickets, not because of relegation but because I don't have that sense of belonging with this shower any more.
