Billy Davies

Not exactly transfer news but this has come from our Chairman and he said that Billy Davies accepted one job offer from Milan before we won at Wembley (and presumably said no when we had got to the Premier League) and was interviewed again and accepted another contract offer from Milan after our match against Chelsea in November (he was then sacked).

No ideas why the second one didn't go through. Not sure whether Megson was in charge then or was about to be appointed?

This has come from Adam Pearson.

Just thought I'd let you know.

He won't join now we're in League One. :frusty: F**ksake.

lol!

I don't think you'll go down. The result against Barnsley will no doubt save you. Southampton to get 2 points from WBA and Shef? I doubt that and I wouldn't put it past your lot beating Stoke next weekend either!

I wish i could share your optimism, but i see Southampton winning their last game and us losing.

If he needs a job badly enough, he'll come.

Building a promotion side might be a challenge he would relish.

Billy Davies used to be the fat bird in the corner that no one really wanted to take home, but now after a few pints of super strength relegation special brew she suddenly looks a hell of a lot more attractive.

I still reckon we have a good shout of getting Jose Mourinho here, seeing as he is still out of work...and if he needs a job badly enough, he'll come.

Billy Davies would be one of the last people on my list for the manager's job.

He wouldn't be my idea either. Mandaric likes the idea of good football but suggested he'd sell his soul for success and that seems to be the trouble. He needs to shape his plan for the club - with its style of football and all the factors that will contribute to that end - then get the right man to see the plan through to fruition with no moving of the goalposts.

To be honest, there are a lack of suitable candidates, I honestly can see us signing Dowie!!

Who gives a ****?

Why speculate? If we were offered any of the top four clubs managers at the start of the season, none of us would have wanted them to have taken the job here.

I'd have liked Tony Mowbray but other than him, I agree..

You may as well put all the names in hat and draw one out, you wont do any worse than Mandaric and it's a lottery any way, good managers have bad spells and bad managers have good spells. I just wish they would not choose to have their bad spells at Leicester.

Can I put my list on top of yours so there's no chance well get down to him too quickly? :(

I've said all along we should have got Billy Davies. I even got banned for saying it because Mark didn't agree and thought Ollie was a god.

I've said it all along and 3 months later people have started to agree.

I bet Mark deletes this post aswell.

Considering Davies was still employed at derby when we were looking how would we have managed to hire him at that point?

Perhaps BD & MM fell out before he was even appointed (given BD's fall outs with various people running the Rams, it wouldn't have taken long)......

it probably has more to do with Derby wanting a stupid amount of compensation at the time.

anyway Billy Davies could well be the man we need I hated his football at Derby it was negative, aggressive Hoofball everyone behind the ball not pretty to watch but very effective in the Championship, his tactics got exposed in the Premiership but we are a long way from there and his unattractive style of football is probably whats needed down in the depths of League 1
