demon_dog Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 For those of you lucky enough to be going to Stoke, would you keep the players updated as to how Southampton are doing? (Assuming you have a radio of course) I'm in 2 minds as to whether this would be the right thing to do. Would it make them try harder if they knew that Southampton were going to stay up? Or knowing our bunch of useless twats would they just drop their heads and think stuff it, that's it we're down? Your thoughts please.

Your thoughts please. maybe mention it to the defence with a couple of minutes to go if its tight........
SemperEadem Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I hope it would inspire them but with this bunch i doubt it.
Corky Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I would not tell the players the score, let them focus on getting the win that would end all fears. Any distraction could bring dire consequences.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I'd tell them the wrong score, if you say Southampton are winning whether it's true or not they might actually buck up their ideas and try to win our mathc at Stoke.
RowlattsFox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 It will be a difficult situation if with 5 minutes to go both us and Southampton are drawing. Obviously we would want to score the winner but we don't want to be stupid and concede.
Bryn Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I'd tell them the wrong score, if you say Southampton are winning whether it's true or not they might actually buck up their ideas and try to win our mathc at Stoke. I doubt it, they'd hang their heads and get battered.

Obviously we would want to score the winner but we don't want to be stupid and concede. I don't really know how I am going to cope this sunday, I really don't. That type of situation is going to be agony!!!

I was thinking the same thing. If we are losing then yes its a good idea. Because foxes never quit
Corky Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I was thinking the same thing. If we are losing then yes its a good idea. Because foxes never quit Ours did at half-time on Saturday
Basingstoke Fox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Ours did at half-time on Saturday Hence the
Zingari Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 i wouldn't tell them the score until next season and leave them in ignorance of what division they will be playing
Chairman of the Bored Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 They'll know anyway. Steve Howard listens to 5 Live during matches that's why he "lacks focus."
DB11 Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 The way it seems our players care you'd have trouble telling them the current score against Stoke
Zingari Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 The way it seems our players care you'd have trouble telling them the current score against Stoke nice one
CupidStunt Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 depends on whether at some point during the game,we only require a draw dont forget sheff weds,if like i predict, will get beat by norwich on sunday,a point will be enough also amazing how the goal difference might keep us up....just I'm hoping that sheff utd are winning 6-0 at half time, and then us and stoke can play scrabble on the pitch or something
Number 6 Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 let's not forget stoke don't need the win, they only need a point, hopefully hull will be getting hammered and they might not care
Tabou Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 let's not forget stoke don't need the win, they only need a point, hopefully hull will be getting hammered and they might not care I refer you to the bbc sport website where their Chairman has released a statement saying that he wants to WIN the league. They want to go up as winners. They are level on points with WBA. That, coupled with the fact that there is some animosity between Pulis and Mandaric. One might argue that they may want to thrash us. At home. On the Last Day of the season. Infront of 30,000 fans.
Messi Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 I don't really know how I am going to cope this sunday, I really don't.That type of situation is going to be agony!!! Same This is going to be awfully nerve wracking

Sparky Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 anyone remember couple of years ago Man City were 2-2 with Liverpool and were keeping the ball in the corner as they thought a point was enough , it wasnt and they were relegated
lookwhaticando Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Absolutely no bloody way. They should already be aware we're on a knife edge... we don't need to let them know they need to score, they should know already. On top of that, we don't want any complacency at all - and if the Southampton game is going our way, complacency will be our biggest enemy. These useless fuckwits need to go out there and win. WIN WIN WIN. Nothing else will suffice.
Corky Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 anyone remember couple of years ago Man City were 2-2 with Liverpool and were keeping the ball in the corner as they thought a point was enough , it wasnt and they were relegated That was 12 years ago mate. But it was typical Man City, wasn't it? Then two years later that Jamie Pollock did his "Gazza" moment which all but sent them down again. Hope that's not a sign
SystonFox Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 they shouldnt care what sheff yoo get up too aslong as we bag 3 pts it wont matter.
Sods Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Im sure if Sheff United score they will know about it. Could be quite a weird day if cheers come from the Stoke end and ours for different results.
