"If there is something else, like stepping down, then it remains to be seen." I don't think he can afford to just walk away. What I think he's saying is that he's thinking of stepping down as chairman and leaving the day to day running to someone else. I actually think him being a little further removed from the decision making process might'nt be a bad thing.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 How many times does it have to be said on this forum... (been pointed out in numerous other threads) stepping down as CHAIRMAN!!! He'll remain the owner and let someone compotent choose the managers and sanction signings!
Finnegan Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I think people are slightly misunderstanding what he means. I think he means to suggest he's willing to pass leadership of the club to someone else and remain as an investor. He'd still to all extents be the owner, I'm pretty sure he said somewhere he's no intention of selling up. He can't, really, fiscally it makes no sense - he'd lose an inordinate amount of money.
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Yeah, it'd be millions down the drain - he's nothing to lose by staying. He'll be giving more control to that fan-shafting scam-dealing guy that he got in from West Ham, rather than doing a runner.
The Reverend Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 He is not going anywhere, he said as much on Radio Leicester last night.
SamL Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 He's not going to leave, imagine the bad publicity. He'll stay but whether he'll be our Chairman as well as owner remains to be seen.
MikeyT Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Yeah, it'd be millions down the drain - he's nothing to lose by staying. He'll be giving more control to that fan-shafting scam-dealing guy that he got in from West Ham, rather than doing a runner. Only the remainder of his reputation, what little there is left!!!
thecannon Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 He seems like one of those blokes that will not accept failure!
andyh1884 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Can you honestly see this man handing control of the football club to someone else whilst he still owns it?! He's a control freak. I'd be shocked if he stepped down as Chairman whilst still owning the club, I just can't see how he'd let someone else run his investment for him, it's never been his style. It's all or nothing with him.
Daggers Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 For ****s sake - why do people either a) not bother thinking or b) not bother reading. HERE It's in black and ****ing white - he is not ****ing going anywhere and leaving us in the ****ing lurch. Christ on a ****ing bike!

Christ on a ****ing bike! Well siad bob. Milan has made it clear many times that he will not leave us in a worse condition than when he joined us. anyway he wants his investment back and the only way to do that is to get back where we belong
Phube Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 The worst(best) that'll happen is the rumour that he'd step down as Chairman.. and just be the Owner!?
Bert Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Paul Aldridge seems to believe he's committed. Chief Executive Paul Aldridge is convinced that the good times can return to Leicester City. The Foxes were relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time in their 124-year history on Sunday when they drew 0-0 at promoted Stoke City, while Southampton defeated Sheffield United 3-2 at St Mary's. City are now facing up to life in League One but Aldridge, who was appointed CEO by Chairman Milan Mandaric back in late January, is confident that the club can bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking. He said: "Understandably, everyone connected with the club is desperately disappointed at this moment in time but the sad facts of the matter are that the league table doesn't lie. "Despite the huge investment by Milan on the playing front, we have simply not been consistently good enough over the last nine months. "Milan is bitterly disappointed and feels for each and every supporter of the club. Of course, this was not the plan he had in mind for the club when he took charge just over a year ago. "But he will be back in the country later this week and is determined to come back fighting and help this club bounce back. "He is a winner, not a quitter, and I will support him in every way I can. "We will now quickly reflect on our position and then get fully focused on the important job of initially returning to the Championship and our long term objective of regaining our Premier League status. "I have already arranged a meeting with Ian and his senior staff to review the mistakes that have been made this season and consider any changes that need to be made to ensure a quick return to the second tier of the game." Aldridge spent over 10 years at West Ham United - seven of those as Managing Director - and has a wealth of Premier League and Championship experience under his belt. As a result, he is no stranger to the sort of predicament the Foxes currently find themselves in. He added: "I have been in this position before and hopefully the club can benefit from my experience within the game. "I was the MD of West Ham during the 2002/03 season when we were relegated from the Premier League with the highest ever points total, and like now, it seemed like the end of the world. "We worked extremely hard and returned to the top-flight two seasons later through the Play-Offs in a much stronger position. "In that first season we finished seventh in the league, reached the FA Cup Final and qualified for Europe. "During that period we also addressed our huge debt following ground redevelopment and turned in the best operating profits in the club's history. "I say this only to give our fans the encouragement to stay positive. Unlike most businesses, the football industry can turn quickly and we are determined to bring success back to Leicester City." Aldridge has therefore urged the fans to stick by their beloved club and continue to demonstrate that unprecedented level of support. "We have the fundamentals required to become a top club - a great fan-base and an impressive infrastructure whilst our Academy set-up is one of the best in the country and will continue to prove to be vital. "I would ask that you play your part in our revival; your continued loyalty is crucial from both a financial and team support perspective. "The proof of how strong a relationship really is is always tested to the maximum during times of adversity. "Milan has already reiterated his commitment to the club and despite your obvious disappointment, I just hope you do not desert him after he has devoted so much time, money and personal sacrifice in such a short period of time."

Daggers Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Needs its own thread to stop people asking Mandaric pledges future to Foxes Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has vowed to stay at the club, despite their relegation to League One. However, he refused to be drawn on boss Ian Holloway's future. Mandaric told BBC Radio Leicester: "I am not going to leave the club. We have to look forward, re-organise and get back into the Championship. "I will hopefully learn if there have been mistakes on selection and will probably correct those and make better ones if that's needed to be done." Mandaric added: "I'm bitterly disappointed. The only thing we can get out of this is to become a stronger club going forward, stay united and re-organise ourselves and build a strong base. "If people trust me I will always come through for them and I think this will be the same." The Foxes lost their Championship status on Sunday after a goalless draw against Premier League-bound Stoke. Mandaric stated: "If I said I didn't have regrets I would be lying to you. You don't have to be Einstein to figure out we are in the business of results and the results aren't there. "We have see what was done right and wrong, correct it quickly and immediately and go forward to win games and show Leicester City in a new colour."

MikeyT Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_3528804,00.html Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric will not leave the club following their relegation to League One. The Foxes slipped out of the Championship after they could only draw 0-0 with Stoke on the final day of the season. Mandaric admitted after the game that he would need a couple of days to 'calm down' before deciding on his own future and that of manager Ian Holloway. He is still refusing to comment on Holloway but has vowed to remain as chairman next season. "I am not going to leave the club," Mandaric told BBC Radio Leicester. "We have to look forward, reorganise and get back into the Championship. "I will hopefully learn if there have been mistakes on selection and will probably correct those and make better ones if that is needed to be done." Disappointed Mandaric has promised supporters that he will turn Leicester into a better club and lead them back into the second tier of English football. He said: "I am bitterly disappointed. Christ on a ****ing bike! Those are not Milans words, they are Paul Aldridges words... and to be frank he wouldn't say any different. I merely ask do u trust Milan?? Can u trust him?? People quite often say things in life and dont mean them... Paul Dickov being one... Milan is hardly gonna come out with it anyway and say ''This has gone tits up... Im off...'' Jus want to gauge whether people think he'll jump ship, step down to a lesser role or stay as he is....
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 6 May 2008 Author Posted 6 May 2008 The bbc article is his words!!! Yes, granted but read what I said, Milan is not gonna say anythin different. By him suggesting he may take a back seat is he jus trying to let us down gently....
