Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 16 May 2008 Posted 16 May 2008 Hope he comes here but I can't really see it with championship club's interested. He's got no alleigience or attachment to the club & I don't see why he would want to spend at least another season in League 1 when he could be playing in the Championship
Ric Flair Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 Norwich on the verge of signing him according to Sky.
Tilley Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 I'm really confused with this, I thought he was our player :S
The People's Hero Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 I'm really confused with this,I thought he was our player :S No. He would have been ours permanently had we stayed up. We didn't.
Tilley Posted 22 May 2008 Posted 22 May 2008 No. He would have been ours permanently had we stayed up.We didn't. Ahhh I see, Shame that, he seemed alright, & I would rather him go to Norwich than Cov.
The Reverend Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 Thought he was a Leicester fan aswel? The chance to have a good crack at promotion with your home town club and become a hero, or go to Norwich? Proper fan
Thracian Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 some of my mates that support cobblers said that hayes was sh*t while he played for them and he was a reserve team player at best. Sounds about right.

MikeyT Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_3620636,00.html Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson says the club will not be improving their offer for Luton Town midfielder David Bell. The 24-year-old is due to leave Kenilworth Road during the summer following Luton's relegation to League Two. Bell finished last season on loan at Leicester City and he looks likely to be playing Championship football again next term. Norwich City are also in the hunt for the former Rushden winger, while Coventry have confirmed an offer has been made. However, Sky Blues supremo Ranson insists he will not be returning with an increased bid after the initial offer was rejected. Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph: "We have made one offer which we think is fair and that's it. "That is our final offer."

MikeyT Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Please don't go to Coventry. If we offer him enough money, he'll come to us surely? I can't see it though. I know, exactly what i thought!
SamL Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 I know, exactly what i thought! I thought he played pretty decent when he was with us, but I felt he still had a lot to give. I think we should definitely try to sign him, Maxi and Bell on the wings for us next season would be a great combination.
Stevosevic Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I would give up any hope of him joining. http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/Sport/story...3A23%3A01%3A783 Norwich City have been told to double their money if they want to sign Luton midfielder David Bell - or face losing one of their big summer targets to a Championship rival. “Looking at the offers on the table at the moment, Norwich were not even at 50pc of what we are looking at from the other bidders,” said Stephen Browne, director of the LTFC20202 consortium bidding to take control at Kenilworth Road. Luton says they have heard nothing from City since turning down a bid for the 24-year-old midfielder last week - and that could mean the chase is over. “Norwich made an offer which fell quite some way short of our valuation,” added Browne. “It was a long, long way short. We have a valuation and I don't think it is unrealistic. “We went back to their chief executive and said 'no thanks, but if you want to put in a revised bid we will listen'. No one has come back so as far as we are concerned that is the end of the matter. “As far as David being linked with Norwich, the ball is in their court.” Luton also rejected a bid from Coventry which, said Browne, was similar to Norwich's. However, there are two other clubs very much in the frame for Bell's services - even though Luton insist they don't have to sell one of their prized assets. “We are not a million miles away with either club and we are confident we are being realistic,” Browne added. “One if from the Premier League one from the Championship and if you go by the size of the crowds they get then you'd say one was about the same size as Norwich and the other one was bigger.“One club in particular would be a very good move for David, but we are not in a position where we have to sell him. “It is very tempting to look at Luton and think because we are in administration we need the cash, but the reality is different; we are very close to exiting administration. “David has another two years to go on his contract and, having spoken to him only yesterday, I know he is looking forward to coming back in the new season and is committed to the club. “If someone comes in and it's a good career move then we as a club wouldn't stand in his way.”

I think we should definitely try to sign him, Maxi and Bell on the wings for us next season would be a great combination. Yeah but both of those are naturally right sided. I'd rather we bring in a beast of a left winger tbh. And of course there is that speed demon Barry Hayles.
