Fox You Forest Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Hume could very well bag us 20 odd goals next season if played consistently and in his correct position. He proved that he can score vital goals towards the tail end of last season, but was again shunted out wide by Holloway against Stoke. The mind baffles at that decision.Name a viable replacement who could very well bag us that many goals. I think ill wait until MM comes out and says Ollie is staying before i pass judgement or start jumping to conclusions
LeeCovFox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Okay, now you're embarrasing yourself. Well he isn't a good player. So he tries hard. It seems to me to be the main reason that our fans like him. What a crap reason. So he ****ing should try hard.
Master Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Of course sacking Holloway would cost money, but it would substantially less than sacking the entire playing staff as you suggested earlier. Now you're suggesting sellingthe all the players, which isn't the same as your 'sack all the players' line/thread. Whatever, go on living in your fantasy world you think selling Hume for £20,000 would help us get promoted. Hume has been the catalyst of this clubs demise. This Huummmmeee culture of appreciation of complete shite needs to be put to rest. I can’t see how anyone can justify they would like to hold on to any of the currect squad, I find it baffling. I can’t see a better alternative to Holloway, and nobody can come up with one. Changing the manger hasn't worked and that's been shown. The players are the problem.

There was actually a table in yesterdays Times showing that sacking th manager actually benefits the clubs most of the time. Bolton, Wigan, Birmingham, Newcastle and Tottenham all benefitted from sacking their managers (in terms of average points per game).

Changing the manger hasn't worked and that's been shown. The players are the problem. Come on now. On one hand you refuse to show any leniency for any of our players for their failures but because you cannot find a suitable 'replacement' for Holloway, you'll let him stay? I know you like to cause a bit of controversy, and I like that, but now you're being daft!
Father Ted Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 What a ****ing joke! MM is a moron! From the first game I will NOT be backing Holloway. In the poll it was very much 3:1 for Ollie out! Again MM shows he doesn't care about the fans. This is the biggest joke of the century. I guess it'll be fu*king Hayles instead of Hume next year. This is even worser news than us getting relegated fooking Wankers the lot of them!
LeeCovFox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Could be argued that if they all put in the same effort we might not be in League 1. It could be argued, you are right .But it would be wrong. I refuse to believe that our players haven't tried. Of course they want to win. They just happen to have been crap for 4 years.

Changing the manger hasn't worked and that's been shown. The players are the problem. Rubbish, we'd have been relegated last season without him never mind this season. Yes he's overrated by a lot of fans but I can't think of many better players in our squad and many better players that would be attracted to League Feckin' One.
TrickyTrev Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Best player? I've not seen a good player put on a Leicester City shirt for nearly 8 or 9 years. Hume is a terrible player, fcuking awful. Okay. But has he made more of a positive contribution to our side than any other in the last 3 years. If so, then he has been our best player. If you think our youth team are going to be as good as the players we had 8 or 9 years ago then you're mad.
thecannon Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Well, we have to back him all the way, and support him. There is no point on a matchday just booing him and chanting things like "Ollie out", because it will just mess this club up evenmore. So there is no point moaning about it, even though we have been patient with him. I know he took us down, but, im backing him all the way.
lookwhaticando Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 My take on this, is that this isn't the last we've heard of this. Mandaric's statement doesn't at any time state that Holloway is staying on as manager, it may insinuate that given what Ollie has come out and said and the fact that it's 'business as usual' but I reckon Milan is stringing things along for a while. Which is what he said he would be doing... As I said before, nowhere has it been said/written by those who matter that Holloway will definitely be manager of the squad come August. "Business as usual" means nothing when the top man at the club is about as unusual as you could get.
LeeCovFox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I disagree. We have the ingredients to bake a wonderful cake, but the oven (Holloway) is completely knackered. I agree that the oven is knackered. But I don't think that Holloway is the oven. I lay that responsibility at the feet of those who run the club. Mandaric and his predecessors. This club has been mismanaged for 8 years. This was always going to be the result.

Changing the manger hasn't worked and that's been shown. The players are the problem. A breeze block would be more competent and far cheaper. Changing manager does work if the right man is put into the job. There are possibilities out there, you've just closed your mind to any decent replacements, based on the fact that we may end up with Dowie and that Ince and Ferguson would not come to us.

Fair enough, the club's ownership / chairmanship(?) has been poorly managed, but Holloway must still take some responsibility. He's a gas hob surely?
Mav Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 If Mandaric was a true Serb he would have ethnically cleansed this P*ick out of our club! He is obviously a fooking Bosnian because Bosnians are thick as fook. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, we are now, by keeping this moron Holloway - the biggest joke in the fooking midlands! Are they deaf down there? Can they not here the tens of thousands of people shouting the same thing or is he just out to wind up everyone by doing everything opposite. Let's sing the praises of Holloway and maybe the idiot might go opposite and get rid! A bit of reverse pyschology.

Changing the manger hasn't worked and that's been shown. The players are the problem. So because the fans like Hume he needs to be replaced by a youth team player. Perhaps the fans sing Hume's name because he is better than the attacking alternatives; Bazza, Elvis, Howard, DJ e.t.c But because you can't think of a better alternative to Ian Holloway, I'll give you one Mike Newell (has actually won this division), you're willing to ignore all his innadaquecies?

Wycombe Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Business as usual = the square root of same shit x different day divided by Holloway² x season tickets sales divided by 2 Which equals, funnily enough 23rd place next season. Oh my! Amazing how these things can be predicted with just a little simple mathematical formula...
Fox You Forest Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 That's good. Nah the chef controls the oven wouldnt that be Mandaric.
