OriginalRobboFOX Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 but who is the onion, cos theyve got layers... im punting on Sergio Hellings
Stuliasz Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Right, he's staying - lets draw a line under it and get on with supporting the club shall we? I would have preferred him to go rather than stay due to some major tactical faults at the end of last season but that's over, Milan has decided he's staying and we all need to accept that and support the CLUB.
C.J Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 This has probably been said before in this topic, but a I cba to read through 8 pages. SO: Ollies staying, get behind him if you like it or not. Who else is going to come to this club as manager given MM's record. I've renewed, so if you havn't DO IT NOW and get behind our club and ollie. If you havnt, your a typical fickle Leicester fan. Thats my opinion, if you dont like it
ousefox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Why not? There's plenty of examples of limited players who work hard and make it far higher than their raw talent, becoming vital cogs in a team. Flamini, a player of limited talent, but he's at AC Milan. Robbie Savage, in his prime was the engine of a team. Dirk Kuyt, non-stop hard work, keeps Peter Crouch out of the team. Hume, works hard, constant effort and that's why he is our top scorer.Hume is a good championship player, who will have interest from a higher level than us. Thats not hard!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 So all we need is a lot of Cillit Bang™... or perhaps a new oven. And new ingredients. And perhaps a new chef. So your saying Barry Scott for manager? "Get it done, Milan!"

I seems to me that Hume is liked not because he does his job above the level expected of him, but because the rest of the players don't do what they should be doing. I don't dislike Hume at all. I think he probably is one of our better players. I just don't agree that that makes him particularly good.
lookwhaticando Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 More i read the statement from the chairman the more confused i get, not anywhere does he state holloway is staying. It gets better. The BBC Sport article that had said "Holloway to remain..." now reads something different. Leicester City boss Ian Holloway has been told it is "business as usual" at the club, as chairman Milan Mandaric decides on his future. Which to me just says "You keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and I'll decide whether to stump up for your taxi back down south". So far, all we know is that in the very immediate future, Holloway remains as manager... he can help lay the ground-work for some of the pre-season activities... the boot camp and so on. We were in this position last year when Worthington was preparing the pre-season, despite not knowing whether he would get the gig full time or not...
C-man Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Don't worry, 'Business as usual' means he'll be gone by next Monday. Yes it is......And the club can f*k off if he stays...No f*king season ticket if RATBOY STAYS!!!!!...FOR SURE!!! You sound more and more like the perfect supporter with every post. I can't really make my mind up whether or not I'm pleased with the decision. I do like Holloway and really would love for him to be successful here. I also couldn't really see any managers that would be willing to come here that our fans would be 100% happy with. But you never know, who would have thought Roy Hodgson would have kept Fulham up? I couldn't really blame his signings because all looked good on paper but didnt quite work out. However, some of his decisions and tactics towards the end of the season really wound me up and after the Stoke game I wanted him to go. After calming down a bit and looking forward to League One, I'm willing to accept Milan's decision and I'll be one of those idiots chanting 'Ollie's Army' on August 9th. Besides, Ollie's love-in with the media might give us some coverage on Sky instead of once-a-season features on Big League Weekend.
Father Ted Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Honestly, you lot that are abusing Hume are pathetic. He puts his heart and soul into everything. But Holloway wasted him for most of the season by playing him on the wing! If he wasn't playing on the wing but upfront instead of the retards like Howard and Hayles then we probably wouldn't have been relegated!

lookwhaticando Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 All depends if dowie gets the qpr job. You're just playing Devil's Avocado.
LeeCovFox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 lol Honestly, you lot that are abusing Hume are pathetic. He puts his heart and soul into everything. But Holloway wasted him for most of the season by playing him on the wing! If he wasn't playing on the wing but upfront instead of the retards like Howard and Hayles then we probably wouldn't have been relegated! I am not abusing Hume. What I am saying is that putting his heart and soul into matches should be a given. We shouldn't be impressed by it because it is what he is supposed to do. It is equivalent to sending the postman a thankyou card for delivering your mail.
Daggers Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Weak decision from Milan, very disappointing. I believe it is totally the opposite. He has put his bollocks on the line with this one - if it goes tits up then Mandaric knows how it will reflect on him. If he is convinced that this is the best decision for City then I'm fine with that. In fact I more than fine with that. Loyalty testing will be when there are still idiots chanting 'Ollie's Army' next season. What do you want then - idiots chanting "Ollie out!"? I'm half hoping that Holloway fails, which is something that I've never felt toward any other City manager. It shames and angers me that I feel this way, that I should want my beloved team to struggle just to get rid of a manager I have no faith in. I am speechless that someone can consider themself to be a fan of this club and yet want us to fail. That is absolute nonsense, you may as well go watch Forest next season.
sdb Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 if he is staying then can we all get behind him please? fair enough moaning when there's desicions to be made but lets now accept it and support him 100%

Just out of interest, why do you have what could be described as complete faith in Mandaric's decision making ability?
Daggers Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 if he is staying then can we all get behind him please? I don't think you need to be polite on this issue. Anyone not willing to put their support behind the team so that we can all pull in the same direction can **** right off in my book. Anyone upset they didn't get the sacking they were hoping for needs to suck it up.

Sods Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Good. Hollow Hollow Hollow (WAY) Your taking us on a league one tour We will be their for a year Here the Leicester fans cheer As the boys in blue have just scoooooooooored. Fantastic.
General Smuts Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 My fence doesn't seem so silly now does it! Eh?!?
leicesterseddon Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 let's get one thing straight: holloway is a complete clown. He has signed dross (admittedly in a difficult january window and from unwanted loan players), and has shown all the tactical insight of a blind monkey. Since he came he has talked the talk and come across as a funny, decent sort of bloke. But i don't care. I don't want him as a mate, i just want him to move my bloody club forward. this decision to keep holloway (if indeed it is true) is wrong. But then again the decision to sign him was wrong. The same thing can be seen with Allen: to sack him after 4 games was complete madness, but the bloke evidently didn't have a clue because most of the complete shit that he bought have been responsible for taking us down. And by letting Smegson go to bolton without any kind of fight, Mandaric is in effect admitting that signing him was another shite decision. I was glad when MM took over, and, to be fair to the bloke, he has put his money where his mouth is. But when it has really mattered, when the big decisions have had to be made, he has made the wrong choices. Hearing him on sky sports, he sounded afflicted - as if he had somehow been betrayed. Whilst i can acknowledge that the players have not pulled thier weight, he is considerablely responsible for where we are now. And our position as fans is no better for it: on the basis of performance, we shouldn't want either, but at the same time we need both - milan for his money and holloway to give the club some stability. I know holloway should go - i just don't know if we can do any better without him.

Daggers Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Just out of interest, why do you have what could be described as complete faith in Mandaric's decision making ability? I don't. If you look back over threads this season you will see that I believe Mandaric is the most culpable in the events that transpired...but I love this club and if I ask myself what is in its best interests for the short and medium term future then a healthy dose of positivity and a little bit of believe can't do much wrong. With Holloway, replacing him only made sense if we had a better replacement and I think you can assume that either no one was forthcoming prior to today's meeting or that he genuinly believes Holloway is the man for the job. Whichever way it cuts, I see no point in carping about it now - it's done. This club needs us all to be forging a decent future for the club, I'm sick to death of the negativity that has surrounded us for so long. It doesn't mean being blinkered to things but without alternatives this is what we have to deal with, this is the best we have got...so let's make the most of it.
Daggers Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 The question could be asked, what if supporting this decision harms Leicester City and does more damage than if he was shunted out? True. It's a good point that can't be denied - but in my opinion bitching about it will just continue a negative air. Let's see how it goes?
