Holloway staying (for now)

Give him a chance for fcuks sake. We've nothing to lose.

He's had a chance and we've lost our Championship status how much more rope does he need?

When we signed these players, most of the people on here were over the moon. All good on paper, but all turned out to be sh*t. Players fault.

May I suggest to you that people were mistaken in their joy at the signing of Howard, he is a very limited footballer who will only score if you put it on a plate for him. It is not our job to have studied players in detail, thats Ian Holloway's job.

I imagine precisely no one was excited or happy with the capture of Big Baz.

Oakely is a good player and he would have helped keep us up if we didn't by-pass our midfield. In the few games we tried to play football I thought he looked a very good player.

You really do see things in black and white don't you. Either players fault or managers fault. The manager's performance is caused by the players but in a less direct sense the players performance is strongly infleucned by the role the manager gives them. That is why people hold the manager responsible!

Right. And who signed the players?

Were you not one of the people who posted things like 'I'm jizzing my pants' at thought of Oakley signing? Were you not one of 100's of people posting things like 'Howard will bag us sh*t loads of goals, I'm jizzing my pants'

I had a very good weekend Singh as it happens.

Really, I suppose goign back to work on a monday morning would put a downer on things. You carry on with the abuse!!! :D

I blame every single one of them. The fact we kept players like Fryatt & Hume last season was a joke. But i'm not arguing about it. I've made my point very clear.

But the biggest amount of ineptitude comes from our fans, like you.

Yeah you've made you fúcking stupid point very clear. As I said before, the club can't cancel players contracts without paying them compensation, that would normally their salary for the rest of the duration of their contract: i.e. millions of pounds we don't have. Got it?

I have no idea why I'm responsible for the biggest amount of ineptitude. Surely Ian Holloway, the coaching staff and the players are more responsible for the club's results than me?

I personally just want stability. Someone who knows the players and will be highly motivated.

Listen the only "Stability" you will get next season is the same SH*TE manager.....It'll be all change on the player front, either cherry picked to a higher league, or got rid of cos they are crap....The money from the sale of players will pay for cheaper lower quality players RATBOY will bring in.

Keeping this manager is just a cost cutting measure from MM.

Right.

Are you telling me we can't find better players than Mattock and Stearman? You fcuking dumb ****. As for Hume, he's the biggest pile of sh*t that's ever played for Leicester. Our youth players will do a far better job than any of the donkey's who were known as our first team.

SACK THE PLAYERS!

Haha. Yes we could do better than Hume, Stearman and Mattock. You are correct. These are not talented footballers all of which have shown they care about the club. Two of them are definately not only "our youth players" but the best of them. It is possible for a player to be the top scorer and best player for our club 3 seasons in a row and still be the worst player that has ever payed for them.

God. If this is the voice of the pro-Holloway crowd then I think he'd rather no support at all!

Yeah, I did jizz my pants at the signings of Oakley and Howard to be honest, but the jizz soon dried up when I realised that Holloways over-dependence on them when they were out-of-form was costing us points and the chance to play hungrier players (Wesolowski, Sappleton).

Yes, they were good signings, but they were very poorly managed. Very poorly.

MM says on the official site that "it was very much 'business as usual' at the Walkers Stadium."

Does that mean we've got 3 poor seasons in D1 and then relegation to D2?

I really do hope that IH gets it right this summer, but I have a very bad feeling that the club have not done enough to stop the rot at this club. Nothing short of a complete rout of the players and managerial/coaching staff is what is needed, and for anyone to say that it is business as usual really cannot see how bad things are.

Ah well nothing we can do but support the team, whoever is in charge...

Correct.

I never liked Martin Allen but it is ridiculous that he was given 3 games to prove himself whereas Holloway has had 6 months and steered us to relegation. It's too late for ****ing stability, we're down, we needed stability in the league above.

God you're really annoying me.

Did you not think sacking Holloway will cost the club money? All of these players are probably on a much higher wage packet than our youth players. Sell them all for reduced fees, sell Hume for £20,000. Who cares, the manager and the board must make these changes. Simple. Or we stay a sh*t league 1 team for 10 years.

Not exactly true.

There were those who expressed grave reservations about paying £1.5 million for a 31 year old, on big wages, on a three year contract. My thoughts on Howard were that he would do a job for us, which he did to a degree, getting a few goals for us, but that we massively overpaid for him. This then became a millstone round the team's neck as Holloway could not drop the £1.5 million signing. We will now not be able to recoup this money, nor will he leave as no-one else will match his current wages.

Oakley, hasn't performed fantastic but isn't a poor signing. I think he's fairly competent and did add a bit of quality to our midfield.

Hayles, we overpaid for. No question of that. Yes, he had some good games, but for a player of his age, £100,000 was too much. Again, a bad judgement call by Holloway, who preferred to play Hayles, over our top scorer Hume.

Ian Holloway has stated to Radio Leicester that its "Business as usual" and confirmed he will be staying as Leicester City manager..................

Can't say I'm happy about this at all. I've no faith in Holloway and I don't think he'll suceed, even if we keep the majority of our better players. I don't think Milan has made the right decision and I've a horrible feeling that come December we'll be languishing in the lower half of League 1 and Holloway will get sacked. This will be yet another season wasted.

The decison to keep Holloway also leaves me in an ugly personal situation where I'm half hoping that Holloway fails, which is something that I've never felt toward any other City manager. It shames and angers me that I feel this way, that I should want my beloved team to struggle just to get rid of a manager I have no faith in.

Hopefully I can overcome these feelings. Hopefully Holloway can prove me wrong.

Best player? I've not seen a good player put on a Leicester City shirt for nearly 8 or 9 years. Hume is a terrible player, fcuking awful.

I haven't read the thread but I've decided to agree with whatever Ric Flair's take on this is.

:D

My take on this, is that this isn't the last we've heard of this. Mandaric's statement doesn't at any time state that Holloway is staying on as manager, it may insinuate that given what Ollie has come out and said and the fact that it's 'business as usual' but I reckon Milan is stringing things along for a while.

Of course sacking Holloway would cost money, but it would substantially less than sacking the entire playing staff as you suggested earlier. Now you're suggesting sellingthe all the players, which isn't the same as your 'sack all the players' line/thread. Whatever, go on living in your fantasy world you think selling Hume for £20,000 would help us get promoted.

Hume could very well bag us 20 odd goals next season if played consistently and in his correct position. He proved that he can score vital goals towards the tail end of last season, but was again shunted out wide by Holloway against Stoke. The mind baffles at that decision.

Name a viable replacement who will bag us that many goals.

Well Izzet was still playing for us in 2004, but I suppose you think, like Hume, he was one of the worst players in the club's history.

Okay, now you're embarrasing yourself.
