Matt Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Why does everyone keep saying Ollie should stay for 'Stability'?It is not the length of time that a manager stays that produces stability, it is the manager himself that creates it. Under Hollway Leicester have become the most inconsistent i have ever seen them. Hang on, Correct me if i'm wrong but Leicester have been in the position and playing like we have for 4 years? No matter what players or manager have been here it's been the same old story, Has Holloway been here for the whole of those 4 years undercover or something?
Tilley Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Stupid fans, won't buy a ticket because Holloway is in charge. I didn't like Taylor, Levein, Megson but I still went, I would have hated Dowie coming here but would have still gone down to watch them. Ridiculous, honestly.
Houdini Logic Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Hang on, Correct me if i'm wrong but Leicester have been in the position and playing like we have for 4 years? The last few months have been the most incosistent (and frustrating) of those four years. Do you disagree?
Free Falling Foxes Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 FFS - We have the summer at least of Holloway saying the right things but doing the wrong things. As he said 'Business as usual'
Guest Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Right. And who signed the players? I'm sure MM had more than his say on matters. And Paul Aldridge is taking the credit elsewhere. He has also stated that he expects to get players in. So perhaps the manager is not calling all of the shots. Just a thought. Yeah you've made you fúcking stupid point very clear. As I said before, the club can't cancel players contracts without paying them compensation, that would normally their salary for the rest of the duration of their contract: i.e. millions of pounds we don't have. Got it? But it's alright to cancel a manager's contract, pay that out, and then pay compensation to another club for their manager, because I bet the list of available managers is one of the reasons MM has decided to stick with the status quo. I never liked Martin Allen but it is ridiculous that he was given 3 games to prove himself Was he? Seeing as the reason(s) for his sacking have not been made public, how can you say for certain? There was actually a table in yesterdays Times showing that sacking th manager actually benefits the clubs most of the time.Bolton, Wigan, Birmingham, Newcastle and Tottenham all benefitted from sacking their managers (in terms of average points per game). It's done us the world of good in recent seasons. I agree that the oven is knackered. But I don't think that Holloway is the oven. I lay that responsibility at the feet of those who run the club. Mandaric and his predecessors. This club has been mismanaged for 8 years. This was always going to be the result. I agree; we've been flirting with League One for what seems like an age, certainly longer than Holloway's tenure. To lay the blame solely at his feet is unfair. Believe it or not, I am still undecided on this. I don't know what's best. I wish I had a crystal ball that could tell me what's going to happen (or Saturday's Lotto numbers). But I can't see any better manager who would leave their current position to join us. I am sick to death of the speculation and the in-fighting. I just want the new season to start, and hopefully to get out of this mess, and I don't care if it's Holloway, or Katy Price in charge, I support the club and not the personnel. I'll be here long after MM has jumped ship.
Corky Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 The last few months have been the most incosistent (and frustrating) of those four years. Do you disagree? Yes, the Levein era was worse in my opinion.
Flynny Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I don't care if it's Holloway, or Katy Price in charge. Now there's an idea if we're to bounce back.
Guest Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Now there's an idea if we're to bounce back. Du-dum ching!
Maybes Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Cant really say that Im really that bothered with the decision. There were no real replacements lined up in my eyes so Im happy. Some fans are ridiculious stating they wont get a ST while he is in charge. Cut of your nose to spite your face springs to mind
Corky Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Du-dum ching! Hope Katie doesn't employ Peter Andre as her assistant. Then we'll have three massive tits on the bench.
Daggers Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I don't care if it's Holloway, or Katy Price in charge, I don't remember seeing her name in the frame - maybe that would have raised spirits in the dressing room
Flynny Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Du-dum ching! I really wish you'd posted that in the "Ollie's Knockers" thread now, I'd have had a field day.
Munzie Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I don't care if it's Holloway, or Katy Price in charge. Could be better than some of the tits that have been in charge
Guest Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I don't remember seeing her name in the frame - maybe that would have raised spirits in the dressing room I thought you mentioned it in the pub, but that might not have been football related, come to think of it....
maddog Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Ollie army! Stability here we come Champions Of League 1, Johnstone Paint Trophy Winners, Fa Cup Winners, and Carling Cup Winners 2008/2009. Here we go It's the quadruple!!!
wurmer Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Is anyone listening to the complete cocks on RL atm? FFS.
Maybes Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Is anyone listening to the complete cocks on RL atm?FFS. No, what are they saying?
wurmer Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 No, what are they saying? Can't tell anymore, 'Eric from Leicester' made me throw the radio at the wall.....

Matt Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 The last few months have been the most incosistent (and frustrating) of those four years. Do you disagree? Frustrating yes, Because of relegation which has been on the cards for 4 years, It has been coming for 3 years, we've had enough warnings the forth and final bit us on the arse, It was a matter of time. Inconsistent, I do disagree with that. The most ever frustrating time was under Taylor. I'm sure everyone would agree with that though. The most inconsistent and one of the most frustrating the least 4 years was Levein IMO. But we have this tag, this discussion with every single manager that "fails", doesn't do well. It's boring now.
filbertway Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Good, we've tried sacking managers and that hasn't worked and on reflection, maybe he'll do better in his second season now he is used to the size of the club and demands, maybe last season was him bedding in (badly ). I'm all for giving him a second chance.
Shrenchel Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Why sack him?! We're a league one club with a chairman who's notoriously hard to work with. Holloway isn't a great manager but we're not gunna get any better. Whoever is in charge Milan's gunna 'help' them buy a bunch of overpaid has-beens. Oh and Holloway > Dowie
dandannieldanok Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 So much for ambition, I'm beginning to get sick of "Holloway's crap but we're not going to get better". There are a million and one managers in the world, QPR proved that if you spread your wings you can find a decent foreign manager never mind just scouring the potential english replacements. I'm sure we have the resources to try and find someone better than Holloway who has proven that the one trait he could previously be relied upon (man-management and motivation), has been completely thrown out the window with the lack of bottle and fight in 90% of the games since his arrival. Mandaric said he would go through 20 managers to get the right one and last seasons shoddy ending has proven that he is yet to find the right one, so why settle with Holloway? If the only reasons are stability (what does it mean....... stabilise the slide?.....we've been shit since his arrival so we may as well carry on?!?) and the compensation (weak excuse consdering Mandaric's initial promise) then I'm truly appalled at the ambition of this club. I'm sure with whoever manages us, even Holloway, we'll be near the top of the league but we have to think of the long run, people who think this man can get us to the premier league are really clutching at straws IMO.

I don't even think we'll make the top 10 of League 1 if this fcukwit stays. He's not had a winning run yet with us, so what makes anyone think he'll start one now? Especially as the players of quality in the squad (Hume, Gradel, Mattock) will now leave. R.I.P. Leicester City FC.
