Holloway staying (for now)

It aint about Howard and Hayles, all we need to do is hold on to one of Fryatt Campbell or Hume they've all shown they can score for fun in this league,Hume's the only one he doesn't have a very good record and he's improved alot over the last three years.

Hume actually got 16 goals for Tranmere the season before we signed him in League One and that was from midfield from speaking to a mate of mine who went to a fair few of Tranmere's games that season.

Worst case scenario will be if he's backed all summer, we make a shakey start and Milan loses his patience after 6 games!

Have to say for once I didn't really care either way. I don't think anyone will work harder than Ollie to get us back up, but evidence to date suggets he needs to work a little smarter. There also appears to be a lack of credible interested replacements out there.

He'll receive my full support when the first game of the new season kicks off.

As a worse case scenario.. I'd say that's pretty bad..

I can understand wanting to get behind the club but I do not know how anyone can possibly be expected to 'get behind Ollie' after the mistakes he has made.

I dunno what to think or say, I never wanted Holloway here in the first place so it's a bit like finding out your son is going to continue to go out with a crack whore even though she's just given him herpes and you've had to give him £5000 to pay off a drug dealer whose after him because of the bint.

This is testing loyalty time I reckon.

I listened to the interview on my way home, alot was the same things we had heard since he took over. And to be fair a lot of it was right the players mentality is wrong.

He had 6 months to change their mentality and considering he is lauded as a brilliant motivator he should have been able to do it and at the very least keep us up. The players should take most of the blame but Holloway's obviously not greatly respected or not forceful enough in the dressing room because they aren't listening to him.

Well.. that's bloody terrible news :(

I agree 100%....But MM has not said anything yet...So it could yet be wishfull thinking from RATBOY.

From Left midfield I believe. If Hume scores 15/16 goals he has done more than enough in that department for the team. He comes and gets the ball short and brings other into play. Can find passes that none of our other players would even contemplate and has the feet to bring himself out of difficult situations. He is an excellent contributor to our all round attacking play.

I think Howard would score 20+goals in League One if we were playing well and creating chances and we are very unlikely to be able to shift him. Its all about having a balanced side though. Our midfield created nothing all season because it was usually filled with 2 central midfield players being asked to do jobs that don't suit them and wingers that ddin't want to be there.

Absolutely. Our biggest problem is that the 2 players that will get the best out of Howard may well be leaving because of Holloway. Hume & Gradel.

Loyalty testing will be when there are still idiots chanting 'Ollie's Army' next season.

Why would Gradel be leaving???

Why would Gradel be leaving???

Holloway doesn't like playing youth.

I'm extremely disappointed if this turns out to be true.

Allegedly not a happy bunny with the way we have treated him and also there are clubs in a higher division that want him.

Nothing we can do now, other than back him and hope he gets us out first time of asking.

Well I think the players tried hard. They didn't want to go down. They felt sad when they did. WHen Hendo made the penlty saves all the players were celebrating wildly. It is all too easy to talk about motivation as if it is a sliding scale of how much a team wants to win. But I think everytime a footballer goes out on to the pitch they have th desire to win, there is sadly a lot more to it than that.

Did they have the right mentality in the sense they believed they could win games?

Absaloutely not, they were being told they were shit every week by the manager.

Did they try and win games?

In some sense no. It is not that they were not doing what they were told to do at the best of their ability, it is just they were sent out to get a 0-0 in almost all away matches.

Were they scared of failure?

Absaloutely yes, players did not want to ball in difficult situations or to try difficult passes that will actually progress an attack. Again down to a lack of confidence and a fear factor.

Motivation is NOT about giving CHurchillian speeches and taking players on boot camps. It is about giving players the confidence and the licence to play to the best of their ability. The fear and negativity that was prevelant in our club was absaloutely part Holloway's doing. He did plenty to foster it and nothing to dispell it.

He only signed a new contract in Feb though didn't he?

Fair enough but he is under contract though and we will need him this season so I doubt that he will be leaving this summer. I don't really know how we could have treated him particularly badly as he has been on loan throughout most of the season.

Why did he sign a new contract then? :dunno:

end of season report - FAILED.

youd be sacked in any other walkof life.

I will support the chairmans decision whatever it may be, I want to win this league and put some pride back into LCFC.

Over to you Ollie.

Are you just making shit up now?

Ollie has quite a record of playing youth. Do you know who Scott Sinclair is?
