Fox You Forest Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Anyone who thinks there are going to be lots of goals in this game is off there rocker. I would love to be wrong however but i just cant see it.

lildave3 Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Blatantly going to be a tight and extremely dull game. I'm thinking 0-0 after 90 mins with United (hopefully) winning it in extra time. You mean like it was the other week?
Simi Posted 21 May 2008 Author Posted 21 May 2008 You mean like it was the other week? The Chelsea PR has arrived.
Fox You Forest Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 This has ABSLOUTLEY SHITE GAME written all over it. Leicester v Colchester 06/07 Style
lildave3 Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 :laugh:The Chelsea PR has arrived. Both teams will be 4-5-1/4-3-3 again though I think, expecting Tevez to be on the bench tbh. Hopefully Drogba will be in the same form as he was against Liverpool. I genuinely think the only difference between these teams are the wingers. Getting rid of Robben (who along with Duff was key to them winning he league the first time) was a joke of a decision.
Thracian Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 I'll be backing United. They're still the bright lights of British football. I loathe everything about Chelsea although I do feel some sympathy for their miserable looking but probably under-rated manager. To be in the Champions League final and finish runners-up in the League yet face the sack seems like lunacy to me. Funny that the equally miserable-looking control freak Gordon Brown has got the Labour Party in freefall. For people in the public eye, image is so much a part of the requirement. "Grin-and-Blair-It" was an arsehole too but he had that fixed flash of superwhite teeth that served to look like a smile and the ladies loved it. Not to mention far too many of the blokes judging by the votes he got. In the world of the media it's not brains or sincerity that counts, it's looks and artistic impression. Avram's never going to get to first base in those departments unless he somehow becomes an ugly icon where people decide they love him whatever. Winning tonight would go a long way towards helping him fly the flag for understated heroes but my heart wants to see United prevail as the unchallenged champions of the attacking I so love and support.
Tommeh Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Uniteds ambition will depend on whether Tevez start or not. If not it will be 4-5-1 v 4-5-1 boring as hell. Personally I hope its the dullest 0-0 ever seen even making last years cup final look like Chelsea - Spurs this season as I've got work till 10 but should get off for 20 to, and if I break every speed limit in Loughborough should just about make it back for extra time.

He was injured for the most part of the season Chelsea won the prem first time. I remember all the good things he did for them, but then he didn't play that many games. Was benched a lot.

Getting rid of Robben (who along with Duff was key to them winning he league the first time) was a joke of a decision. Didn't Robben want to leave more than Chelsea wanted to keep him? If so it's understandable. I said earlier in the thread that I wouldn't be shocked to see Tevez on the bench. Fergie will probably look to people he trusts in a game like this, which is why I think Giggs may get a start ahead of Tevez and play just behind Rooney. If there is an early goal in the game either way, I expect to see a half decent contest, however, if Chelsea grab a goal before half time, I fear for the match. There shut off tactics are extremley effective and they seem to have a nack of keeping Ronaldo quiet. Will be interesting to see who they have down to mark Ronaldo, could be Cole if he plays, which I think could be interesting. But then again, Ronaldo may play left and go against Essien if he starts, who he'd probably have the beating of.

Well, i'm biased because I love the guy. But, I stand by my point. Both times they won it though, they had wingers on top form.

Yeah, and first season he's at Madrid they win the league! I agree, Chelsea play best with 1 up front and the wingers. The formation they now sometimes use was basically put in so Shevchenko could play alongside Drogba.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 So am I the only one hoping for a Chelsea win here? Sweet. You do realize if Man Utd win, the amount of red tops you'll see around in the summer will go quadruple. I don't care if Chelsea are a money-making machine, at least there are not enough of them around for me to deal with. Kareem i'm supporting Chelsea aswell tonight, I just want to laugh at all the Yanited fans at college tomorrow. There will be 234 empty seats in the Chelsea end tonight as their plane from Gatwick couldnt leave due to problems. Why? Just for a laugh really.
Samilktray Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 I could not bare Chelsea winning this. Cannot stand them. Come on United.

Koke Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 This has ABSLOUTLEY SHITE GAME written all over it. It certainly has. Both teams will cancel each other out, and it'll be 1-0 to either side. Or else it'll go to extra time and possibly penalties.

I just hope there is an early goal tonight hopefully for Man Utd so this makes Chelsea attack. There could be potentially 4 of the most boring footballers in the world on show tonight.

Uncle Albert Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Who would they be? Makelele Essien Scholes Hargreaves All bore me so much. I dont know why teams just dont play two centre midfielders and actually attack attack attack.
MC Prussian Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 A tight game, but I'd say 2-1 to United. Not really a final I'm looking forward to, two rather annoying clubs facing each other. Only Ronaldo's worth switching on the telly. Apart from that, I think I'll be missing out on most of the action. GTA IV all the way, instead.

Because that doesn't win as many games? Essien and Scholes are hardly boring players, the power that Essien plays with is just brilliant. Chelsea's best midfielder this season, probably their best player this season. Scholes can pick a pass out of nowhere, and when you the goals he scores I don't see how you could be bored by him. Even Makelele and Hargreaves aren't exactly boring. People get bored far too easily and quickly these days.
