Fox You Forest Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Not 1884? Nope, He said "Buy a league position" we entered the league in 1894. I looked it up.
Corky Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Perhaps you could get Mandaric to buy you a position in the league if it's that easy? We have been in the Football League for 114 years, we were formed the proper way, we didn't take anyone's football club, we created our own and started at the bottom as it was then. We've earned our history, and the right to be where we are today, like every other football club in this country. Maybe when MK Dons relocate to Swindon you will realise what it must be like to lose a football club you've loved all your life, you've been brought up with, to see it sold down the river.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Yeah, but little do you realise that Ince is in fact an android designed to self destruct at the slightest interaction with an over zealous chairman within just four matches. On delivery you will find that inside his head it's none other then our chairman laughing ghoulishly whilst pulling a few levers until...kaboom!Like a kid in a candy store you just can't say no though. What i would like to know is what the f--k are you doing on our forum.
Milky Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 The MK area is growing at a great rate. In the not too distant future it'll be a massive place. Huge potential, and like it or not, they'll have a massive fan base in 20 years.
RedOnRed Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 What i would like to know is what the f--k are you doing on our forum. Just asking why the f--k do you want another one of our managers especially after the last one?
Kilworthfox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Well it was a stain on English football that this was ever even thought about let alone even happened!I am interested in how the local team feel about MK Dons and how their efforts have been massively overshadowed by installing a outside team to their town? Oi answer the question RedonRed
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Oi answer the question RedonRed The nearest thing they have to a football team play at something like the 6th or 7th level of non league football, about the level Ibstock United and Ashby Ivanhoe play at. It wouldn't have effected them as they were going nowhere before and are still going nowhere, as the people of Milton Keynes didn't rally around them because they weren't very good. Which is the main difference between the franchise (plastic fans) and Wimbledon (real fans), who set up their own football club and started again in the 9th level when someone took their football club.
RedOnRed Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Oi answer the question RedonRed I'm sure the local team felt pretty bitter about the arrival of Wimbledon. However, the local team is completely off the radar non-league wise and I think they are basically more of a pub team then a side with serious professional aspirations. That's not to say that great oak trees don't grow out of acorns I suppose. For at least 20 years we had been offering a home with enticing prospects for relocation to several clubs that were either homeless, had sub-standard grounds, or were just looking to relocate. Luton Town, QPR and Wimbledon all spring to mind. It just happened to be Wimbledon that took up the offer and I suppose were the most needy anyway. At least they didn't go to Ireland which they had been threatening to do under Haman.
Master Fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 I've lived there pretty much my whole life and i have to say, even i fcuking hate them, and their fans. Can't wait to go down there for the first time next season and rip up a few seats. EDIT: Apart from Wolfman, and RedonRed
RedOnRed Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 No one likes to see their club move and neither would I. It was exceptional circumstances for Wimbledon which hopefully won't repeated. All it boiled down to was economics and survival and the most important thing of all keeping the game going. Although I am a bit concerned with the company i'm sharing (Wolfman)!

Although I am a bit concerned with the company i'm sharing (Wolfman)! I don't understand why people still get so worked up by it? They're here now whether people like it or not. I've no interest whatsoever in them, and never will. But some of my friends make me laugh, all Man U, Arsenal & Liverpool fans but still 'enjoy' drinking down the chequers in Fenny and going to the games. Personally i think they're all c*nts. Anyway, for those who don't know Wolfman of Mk, he puts even Bernie to shame.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Just asking why the f--k do you want another one of our managers especially after the last one? Grow up.Or go and play on the multitude of roundabouts the sh-t hole has.

Having been very anti MKD I'd agree with what MasterFox said it seems like water under the bridge in 20/30 years time hardly anyone will remember or care how MKDs came about Although I'd take issue with your 'survival' notion, to suggest that Wimbledon have survived in any way shape or form from the creation of MKDs is well wide of the mark and delusional.

Master Fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Grow up.Or go and play on the multitude of roundabouts the sh-t hole has. To be fair, it's not that bad. If you look at Luton Town Fc and their current problems, i would imagine they would love to move to Milton Keynes and have the setup which MKD now have, given that chance again. I don't like the Dons, but they've faught their way through it and done well.
Master Fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 <Winkle Picker> If you don't come to the away game down here, i'll pinch your nipple.

Yes?

The survival bit is always going to be debatable and speculative but they had been homeless for 13 years and arrived under administration. Basically, they were homeless, broke and insolvent. The damage had already been done by Haman selling them to Norwegians and then the Norwegians pulling the financial plug on them. So you're basically saying you acted like a bunch of vultures for 20 years, waiting for a league place to be dropped into your lap rather than start up, fund and support your own football club and work your way up like everyone else? Yes? I suppose that's one undeniable way of putting it. I think the whole idea was to offer a home to a club. What happened with Wimbledon was that they arrived broke and ended up being taken over and re-named. No sense in calling them Wimbledon in MK. Although if they had of retained the name I think it would have saved a lot of hatred.

If Wimbledon had gone broke then a replacement team should have come through that way.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Mk Dons are just a shite selling club or feeder club. Most people they get rid off fail at there next club Allen, Mcleod. (Canne think of no more.)
