Scow Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I think at the time the majority of supporters were underwhelmed by the appointment; however, once it became aware what the Southampton fans thought of him, opinion started to change. Irrespective of how well he's done, it as always going to be a gamble to appoint a guy with little managerial experience. The gamble has paid off and he's done a terrific job given the circumstances - especially in the transfer market. The vast majority of his signings have been a success and it bodes well for next season.

I had doubts about him when he was appionted. Best thing about NP is that he has achieved the target with little fuss, minimum money and more importantly done his job on the pitch and not infront of the TV cameras, unlike our last 2 'managers' Some managers wnat to be on the Tv and in the papers sprouting off. We are lucky to have NP. Mind you,if we lose our first few games next season,he can fcuk right off!!
lavrentis Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Come on, let's get behind him. We are going up!!!!!!!!
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Would still prefer Gregory. Seriously kids - Say no to drugs!!
Daggers Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I remember you asking a while ago if anyone knew a decent bloke called Nigel. To this day I cant think of one but hopefully Mandy has found one. I think he did
Guest Bilo Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Dont know what to think really. Prefer Gregory to this joker, we are talking are about experience. What experience does Pearson have going into possibly are biggest season ever? I really hope its not Pearson. Win percentage or no win percentage bleurgh. I;'d rather have Rob "Smashing bunch of lads" Kelly back. Deary me lads. Sorry to drag these up like.
C-man Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 He was our best manager since Strachan, he will be your best since O'Neill. Good shout from the Soton fan.
Corky Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 This is a joke Milan F*&k Off and leave us alone to get our club outta this mess which you seemed to have got us all into, thanks for absolutely nothing. Goodbye and go destroy someone elses club. We need owners and managers who give a sh&t about leicester city and you nor the manager do. ta ta.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 just shoot me please i'm absolutely devestated, i rate him so, so poorly. not happy..one word sums up this appointment RUBBISH.......i dont think mandaric has a clue or was it a case of who would come to our joke of a club !!!! Ouch chaps. Very ouch.
maddog Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Dear o dear, what a shocking appointment. The blokes record was worse than Holloways. Milan said he wanted a winner, i wouldnt call him that. Thank god i didnt renew my season ticket, another shite season. This one jumped out at me Which kind of makes it ridiculous that there will be a lot of fans who did have the time and money to attend the League One season, and did have the time and money to attend this season but didn't because they thought we would be shit again. I bet theres fans who purely didn't attend the recent Championship seasons because we were crap, no other reasons, and now they may have bought a STH for next season because we have done well this season and be able to attend the fooking playoff semi final and think their proper fans.
StanSP Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Hindsight is a wonderful thing, don't you think? Sorry for the cliché! But it is quite amusing seeing all the quotes being picked out
Flynny Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I must say I didn't want John Gregory in at Leicester City, I hate the man. But this Nigel Pearson seems alright as a Manager, He saved Southampton Football Club on the last day of the season. He could do the same for us by getting Leicester City promoted back into The Championship & then The Premier League. Regards Craig Adams 23 I love that Craig Adams has the most balanced post on hindsight.
Nick Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I love that Craig Adams has the most balanced post on hindsight. Craig Rules.
lavrentis Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Gets a bit of stick Craig does but theres no denying he knows his football, and eBay.
MPH Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 I love that Craig Adams has the most balanced post on hindsight. chuffin nora! that was a quality post by our Craig..... but some of these posts where people are dropping their bowels at the thought of Pearson signing are rather amusing....
