Paying hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars for a ticket to get delayed by Donald Trump, a good chunk of those poor folk outside will probably miss the whole of the first set.

And white needs its black.

If you have also caught this and the last 2 grand slam finals, they must exude some charisma as De Niro, Hoffman, Spike Lee, Odell Beckham, Tony Parker, Antoine Dupond.

Henry Cavill, Nicole Kidman, Paul Mescal, Andrew Scott, Keira Knightley, Chris Hemsworth, Helen Mirren, Stormzy, Jodie Comer, Seb Vettel

probably think there is something in this.

Only my opinion and the other tennis fans can agree/disagree, but this quality is OFF the scale, we should just really enjoy & appreciate.

Sportsmen totally at the top of their game.

Perhaps I'm judging too harshly, yes. Alcaraz certainly seems like a likeable bloke, in any case. 

 

I guess I'm hoping for a little more variety in Slam tournaments after a long time of three guys (sometimes four) running the show.

I totally understand what you say and appreciate how you want more variety, in the end if we look back to the start of open Tennis, there has often dominance with people live Laver winning a slam 1st year of OPen Tennis, players like Newcombe, Borg, McEnroe, Jimbo, Lendl, Wilander, into Sampras and Agassi, then Federer, Nadal & Djokovic every single one listed has won at least 7 majors.

Zverev has won $54m, 24 titles and lost in 3 different slam finals, but you can't be losing to FAA in the 3rd round and going out in the 1st round at Wimbledon, and he was won the ATP Finals twice and won the 2021 Olympics.  He just can't get over the line.

Tsitsipas was the was the same and now I think is wrecked by injury.

Also if you look at the womens game, not sure if loads of different winners reflets well on the game?  Don't know if Panetta, Andreescu even Radacanu at the US, Halep, Vondrousova & Krejcikova etc would be great Wimbledon champions.

There's a happy medium somewhere in between I think, so your right in terms of wanting that variety and think thats totally right, up to others to close the gap.

For me as Djokovic and Andy got up to that level its up to the Zverev's, Fritz's, Draper's, Shelton's to get to that level, I'm not sure they can.

Amazing family affair in Shanghai .


Rinderknech and Vacherot are cousins and will meet in the final of the Masters event.


First time since 1996 that two unseeded players are in the final of a Masters 1000 tournament.

I thought this Battle of the sexes was a joke but I’ve just seen the ‘highlights’.

 

Different sized courts, no first serves …what the hell is this😂😂😂

 

Wonder if Eni Aluko or Joey Barton watched it 😂.

Apparently Wimbledon have asked the BBC to modernise  their coverage.


Presumably with younger presenters and flashy previews or short video clips etc to appeal to the youth of today ?


Not sure how well that will go down - didn’t the Beeb try a revamp before and it wasn’t popular.
