mikey54 Posted 18 July 2008 Posted 18 July 2008 David Tomlin - 100% Mr Inconsistent. Always came into the team when Lenny Glover got crocked. OK - showing my age
teblin Posted 18 July 2008 Posted 18 July 2008 yes one of pleat's buys i think ; died very young i believe roger davies was pretty poor ; but by today's standards maybe not in the same league , left us to join tulsa roughnecks , now that's a good name for a football team Yes he did i think he was about 34 or 35. Remember him having to go in goal a few times.
billyfox1 Posted 18 July 2008 Posted 18 July 2008 Who is Adeola? Akinbadbuy aka "Adeola Peter Oluwatoyin Akinbiyi"
Filberts lovechild Posted 21 July 2008 Author Posted 21 July 2008 Thanks for all your input. The team has now been set and is as follows:- Rab Douglas Zeljko Kalac Frank Sinclair Alan Rogers Julian Watts Junior Lewis Phil Gilchrist Martin Keown Scott Gemmil Dennis Wise Graham Fenton Hossain Kaebi David Olfield Lee Philpott Sergio Hellings Zsolt Lackzo Ian Ormondroyd Mark De Vries Elvis Hammond Adi Akinbiyi I know you will all have differences of opinion as to the team selected, but the teams are forever changing on Xpert Eleven so as and when I get new players to the team I will add other ex-city non-legends! Thanks everyone for your inputs its been really useful
renards Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Anyone remember Marc North? Went to play for St Andrews in Aylestone. May( Hope) be wrong but I seem to think he died a while ago. heart problem? Googled but found nothing, exept a bit of a worst 11 etc link http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A38008901

Thanks everyone for your inputs its been really useful Sorry but I'm not havin Keown - Title winner with Arsenal was about 50yrs old when he came here so what did you expect? David Olfield - Skippy was a great servant to our club and after seeing him in the masters I think he could still get into our midfield now. Lee Philpott - Not a great talent but a consistant enough performer and should not be in our worse team. Ormondroyd - Very under rated and was a cult hero, he was head and shoulders above Howard in more ways than one. He also scored in one of our greatest games 5-0 against Cambridge.
Scow Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 The right back curse has affected the following over revent years: John Curtis Chris Makin Peter Canero Richard Stearman Lee Marshall Alan Maybury

Thanks everyone for your inputs its been really useful Putting Frank Sinclair in that bunch is ridiculous, especially as he helped us to two Wembley finals. And you've left out Jacob Laursen, Nathan Blake and Matt Fryatt!
Father Ted Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Oldfield?I loved oldfield! Leave him alone! The Masters Legend!

Thanks everyone for your inputs its been really useful I am never very happy with lists like this. Some of the players on the list were not massively talented but gave the best they had (Ormondroyd, Gilchrist, Pilpott, Akinbiyi,Sinclair,Watts,Oldfield) which makes the better that 80% of last years squad , I will always take someone a bit crap giving 100% over somebody more talented who doesn't give a sh*t. Maybe that's why I am not a manager! Simon
maccfox Posted 22 July 2008 Posted 22 July 2008 SPIDER T.SPEARING J.WILLIS HOWIE A.ROGERS JOSH LOW JUNIOR LEWIS G.FENTON DE VRIES ADE JIM MELROSE Now here's a team we might have even beaten last season. Melrose ?? u cant be serious ? just have a look at the record of the guy who replaced him Tom*y En*lish so bad i cant even bring myself to write his name!!
Phil Bert Fox Posted 22 July 2008 Posted 22 July 2008 I'd have to add Tom English Steve Earle and Roger Davies to this list of muppets Steve Earle?? Bit harsh. Scored a brace on his debut (If my memory serves me corect!) If you want to go back that far, try Alan Waddle, think we got him from Liverpool, came with a good reputation, fook knows how, don't think he ever played for them! Useless gangley twat, made the 'Big O' look like Peter Crouch. Lived in Glenfield and drove an RS2000.
