acooling08 Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 we need to keep mattock. if he keeps improving and gains experience he could be worth a lot more than 2 million
Father Ted Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 we need to keep mattock. if he keeps improving and gains experience he could be worth a lot more than 2 million Exactly my thoughts.
ibbosuk Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I swear I've heard he wants to stay from someone who knows him. His gramps says he would prefer to stay at City for another season and play 1st team football, rather than being stuck in some Premier reserves side. Good sense I think Joe!
casabian Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 joe mattock was in ikea yesterday hopefully he planning to stay with city if he setting up his new home
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I think Mattock is one of those players that is very smart and probably realises that staying for regular football closer to family and friends in a familar enviroment is better than more money and reserve team football.
Tommy G Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 He is almost definately going, it just depends where to and how much. I'd be happy with 2 mill plus
Stevosevic Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I thought he was with the England U19's Fly today i believe
Noel Edmonds Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Wouldn't be surprised if West Ham did sign him, they have come out and told their fans that they will not be signing any superstars but will be purchasing several youngsters and they have already signed some Icelandic 17 year old. Joe could be next as they are also short at left back and had a bid for him turned down in Jan. At least there is the possibility that he would get a few games.
sham Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Seems likes West Ham have/or going to make a £2m bid SOURCE
Unabomber Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Seems likes West Ham have/or going to make a £2m bidSOURCE Probably lazy journalism. Although I expect him to leave this summer.
Uncle Albert Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Probably lazy journalism. Although I expect him to leave this summer. I cant. Think January will be when Joe leaves us.
MikeyT Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Seems likes West Ham have/or going to make a £2m bidSOURCE Not the most flattering picture of young Joe in the Sun is it!
billyfox1 Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Let the bidding war commence! If it's anything like selling Stearman MM will just let WHU have him for £1m because they asked first. What a nice man
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 It really isn't enough is it! Just look at some of the transfers that are flying about at the moment. Mattock has the world at his feet at this young age and he is worth more than what we will actually get for him. It just shows what the so called bigger teams can do, Monopolise the smaller clubs. Very sad.

Very sad. Yeah but other small clubs seem to be able to hold bigger clubs to ransom and slap ridiculously high prices on their players heads. Why is it always Leicester that gets raped?
Asha Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Yeah but other small clubs seem to be able to hold bigger clubs to ransom and slap ridiculously high prices on their players heads. Why is it always Leicester that gets raped? Not always Leicester. Bostock/Crystal Palace is a perfect example.
Ric Flair Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Not always Leicester.Bostock/Crystal Palace is a perfect example. But that deal was that price due to a tribunal as the player was under 16 and wasn't on a professional contract. Mattock is on a pro contract, so we don't have to sell him. Where as Palace had no choice.
Father Ted Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 We have to hold onto him for at least another season...
Asha Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 But that deal was that price due to a tribunal as the player was under 16 and wasn't on a professional contract. Mattock is on a pro contract, so we don't have to sell him. Where as Palace had no choice. Ah right, fair enough.
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 I would like to think we could keep him a little longer as well. No doubt the agent will have the final say.
Daggers Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 I don't care how much - I'd just like all players leaving to piss off now.
