Talking about Mattock. Why the fook is he not being played considering he is more or less the only u-19 squad memeber who has had 4 appearances for the under 21-s??

I think Mattock only got picked for the U21s as the starting U19s left-back (Bertnard or something) broke

an U19 curfew just before Stuart Pearce was going to promote a left back!!!!!

I think he is forgiven now!!

Yep, but in his last 1/2 appearances for the U-21, Mattock played left-back and I think that Bertrand was played left-wing...

Got it on good authority from a family member of Joe's that the club have recieved contact from officials at West Ham. Joe is interested in moving down there after Nigel Pearson has said that he has a left back replacement lined up and that if Joe wishes to leave then he can do so. Hammers scouts were out at the Euro championships and spoke to Joe along with some Hungarian player. Joe has also been talking alot to West Ham duo James Tomkins and Fred Sears whilst out there and has more or less fully made his mind up. Contract negotiations are set to start sometime in the next week.

Sad to see him go, there is always the chance of a loan back to us perhaps? :dunno:

That doesn't sound too promising :(
This isn't sounding too good at all. :(

If he's got his heart set on a move then there is no point in him being here. Hopefully we'll be able to get good money for him and spend it wisely.

It's football, players move on.

As long as we get a decent fee I don't mind him leaving, as it is pretty clear that he will definately be leaving sometime within the next year. Wish him all the best, and like Trigger said his heart wasn't in it last night which was disappointing.

It was always going to happen when we got relegated.

It's a shame but if it's what the lad wants, let him go.

Well, it was somewhat bound to happen. Can't just cling on to young talent when you just got relegated. It's the dream and intention of every professional football player to perform on the highest level possible and can't really blame Mattock if this deal is going through. And once the offer's good enough, why holding him back?

All I hope is that the money earned (together with all the other "high-profile" transfers) will be spent wisely for once.

Yes, one can still hope.

Bound to happen. Hopefully we will get decent money for him, and Hammers are not the worst place for a young footballer.
