purpleronnie Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 They don't have to be. Then I guess we'll be alright in London 2012.
davieG Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 It might not have been diplomatic but the type of action I suggested would focus attention and perhaps get things changed. What's the point of respecting an opponent who doesn't deserve it. She knew she'd been hit and if necessary should have volunteered the point. If a golfer double hits he might not be seen by anyone but he calls it on himself. What's the point in winning a medal you're not entitled to it? I rather think it would focused on her reaction as the judges and sports admin would turn a collective blind eye to the poor judging and present a united front of idignation and disgust at this British braggart who dares question the authorities in such a way. Of course the Chinese girl should have volunteered but she herself is youngish and I suspect under extreme pressure from her sports admin to stay quiet. Didn't you mention the other week about some golfers cheating, it's endemic in sport in general and more more so in life.

And some credibility restored.

lavrentis Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Was it the judges Well I din't know, the people who over turned the decision are brave and I am glad justice has been done.
James. Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Does this mean she'll get a medal? If she loses she fights for bronze, if she wins she fights for gold.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Found myself screaming at the TV at a little known Australian who won gold in the kayak today, was awesome. Also i wonder wether local clubs of lesser known sports mainly have a growth in participants straight after an olympics, for instance me and a couple of mates are keen on trying handball out as it looks like a great sport to play as well as watch.
davieG Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Why do interviewers feel it necessary to ask the same basic question in several different ways

The People's Hero Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 I would have spat on the floor and caught the first plane home. That says more about you than anything else. You should know better at your age. For someone who must have a large amount of experience at losing, you sure are a bad loser!
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Gold for DeGale Yeah cracking gold medal that. Shame the forking Russians have done us but still a great Olympics for us.
