This is why I'm glad we weren't at Euro 2008. Playing poorly, and being outclassed technically by a side who were poor in the summer. We would have been an embarrassment. Having said that, humiliation on such a big stage might have been just the tonic needed.

Wife#1 just gave me my Sky Sports back.

I watched that and I have to say that it was worth my subscription for the year.

I laughed so much I have now permanently lost one of my tits. I think it went under the sofa and the dog ate it.

She phoned them, gave her security code and asked if they has any deals on. Then she agreed upon a suitable package and they fired up my personal tele service within 15 minutes of the call.

It's amazing what they can do these days.

Watching the highlights now. Barry and Brown are two of the most mediocre players to calve out genuine England careers. Still got Gerrard out of position to accomodate Lampard and Beckham. Why? It also has to be said that we have no centre forwards.

I quite like Barry, and I think he is capable of being good enough. He can certainly pass a ball, which is lacking at times from England. I didn't see the game tonight, so can't comment on what happened, but speaking generally, I think Barry is good enough. Brown on the other hand, just isn't. Even saying that though, Sir Alex has kept hold of him and clearly values him, and I'm reluctant to question the man's judgement, he must see something in him.

I still don't see how Wes Brown gets slated.

I feel sorry for the lad, i can't imagine what he'd have to do to get some praise.

Brown bashing annoys me too, has done for a long long time.

Just got back. It looked like hardly any of the players cared about playing in the shirt rearly. Slow tempo lots of misplaced passes and why does the midfield revolve around bloody lampard gerrard and beckham. Neither of them had a good game and as soon as Joe Cole finally came on things started to liven up

Barry can pass a ball to a degree of competency but he is just so slow! If we want a passing player in that role then Barry is not in the same league as Michael Carrick, a player who should have far more caps, if we want a destroyer then it should be Owen Hargreaves.

Aren't they both injured?

Away qualifiers I think. Not entirely sure they. They definitely have some.

They have the away games. ITV have the home ones.

If we play like we did last night, ITV will be bricking it!

Exactly what has Capello done so far that an "English" coach wouldnt have?

It doesnt matter what we do on the pitch, as long as the FA are in charge it will always be a joke.

Well yes. Its just that I can see Barry being annoited as the next mediocre England player that everyone pushes to be in the side ahead of far better players just because he doesn't play for one of the big 4. In the last few years we've had the campaign to drop Ashley Cole for Wayne Bridge (Especially pre-joining Chelsea) and David Beckham for Sean Wright-Phillips (Again pre-joining Chelsea)/Aaron Lennon. It really is a silly national trait.
