Darkzzz_ Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 Yeah but I've never called them that. Cannae be bothered. My brother loves them, he almost cried when they got relegated a few seaons back. I only call them that because one of my friends is a Verona fan, I do it to wind him up, To let him know that there is only one big team round that way. Hope they do well this season, they were quality in Serie B last season. Played some lovely football, hope they can carry it on.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 If you're going to support an Italian team (that's not Napoli, ), then follow Chievo. Lilian Nalis used to play for them didn't he?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Lilian Nalis used to play for them didn't he? Anyone who's anyone has played for Chievo my friend. Oh, and a Turkish update, Besiktas drew with Trabzanspor at the weekend, which nmeans they are still undefeated and still above Fenerbahche.
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 Yeah Nalis used to play for Chievo. That is where we got him from.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Anyone who's anyone has played for Chievo my friend.Oh, and a Turkish update, Besiktas drew with Trabzanspor at the weekend, which nmeans they are still undefeated and still above Fenerbache. Yeah I know. Early days yet though. Fener have had a poor start, but they'll get going when people get back from injury.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Yeah Nalis used to play for Chievo. That is where we got him from. We got him from Bastia. Think he might have been on loan there though, in which case, we're both sort of right. EDIT: A swift look at Wikipedia tells me I'm wrong. Sorry.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Yeah I know. Early days yet though. Fener have had a poor start, but they'll get going when people get back from injury. I find your lack of resistance dissapointing but your search for excuses joyous.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I find your lack of resistance dissapointing but your search for excuses joyous. Meh. I don't think they'll win it anyway, I just don't rate Aragones. Euro 2008 winner or not.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Meh. I don't think they'll win it anyway, I just don't rate Aragones. Euro 2008 winner or not. My granny could win the Turkish league with Fenerbahche.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 My granny could win the Turkish league with Fenerbahche. Your granny is very talented. And will you stop adding an extra H.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Your granny is very talented. And will you stop adding an extra H. If God didn't want me to spell it wrong he wouldn't have made it so bloody difficult. Fhenherbahche.
Joe. Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 As the great Sporting fan I am, I will be missing tonight's game at Barcelona due to going out. Sporting Lisbon. So good they have two nicknames.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 What's going on with Parma? Lost 1-0 today and have only won 1 of their opening 4 games in Serie B.
Mikey Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I only call them that because one of my friends is a Verona fan, I do it to wind him up, To let him know that there is only one big team round that way.Hope they do well this season, they were quality in Serie B last season. Played some lovely football, hope they can carry it on. And they have signed Kerlon.
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 And they have signed Kerlon. Well if the lad shows the potential that he has so far then it could well be a great signing for them. I shall certainly be keeping one eye on his performances.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 September 2008 Author Posted 21 September 2008 Some top class goals in Serie A so far today, Inter Milan are running wild over Torino, Maicon's goal Looking forward to a some more La Liga action tonight.
lildave3 Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Goals from Alex de Souza, Daniel Güiza and Kazim Kazim ensured that last season's UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists Fenerbahce make an impressive return to their Turkcell Super-League campaign with 3-0 win against Genclerbirligispor at the Fenerbahce Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. Fenerbahce was missing several first-team players due to injury including Edu Dracena, Semih Sentürk, Deivid de Souza and Gökcek Vederson. Now they've started! Must say Guiza appears to have made a good start.
Anorak Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Slavia Prague is my main euro team. You may remember them as that sorry looking bunch who were spanked 7-0 by Arsenal last season. In reality they did themselves proud just getting in the group stages, beating Ajax (how the mighty have fallen) as an unseeded team to get through. Last season they won the league for the first time since 96 (Sparta win it most of the time) but lost to Fiorentina at the 3rd Q stage. History I guess the Czech league is like many others in europe, the good young players don't stick around that long and eventually, when they're old and wrinkly and not wanted in the big leagues anymore, they return for a last couple of seasons. Smicer is back at Slavia, Repka & Berger are at Sparta and Galasek is at Banik Ostrava. Slavia's best young striker, Necid, is off to CSKA Moscow in january. Belaid, a young tunisian midfielder who's been very good is still on loan from Inter i think. RKC Waalwijik City played these lot in a friendly once. I once owned their home kit and although it was pretty bad i prefered it to having one of the usual big euro teams. Quite hard to follow them since they were relegated to the Dutch 2nd division a couple of seasons ago. Lost the play-off final to Den Haag last season. Know how that one feels.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 September 2008 Author Posted 21 September 2008 What a day so far in Serie A. Some class goals. Just watching Milan v Lazio. Good game, Zambrotta's goal, what a peach. Hope Milan dick them, my boss is a Lazio fan.
Joe. Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 "My team" was Sporting but unfortunately I have no interest in wanting to see them do well, sorry Ric. I am moving onto greater things with a team I actually like in Atletico Madrid.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 September 2008 Author Posted 21 September 2008 Barcelona were on there game tonight. Messi
Samilktray Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 "My team" was Sporting but unfortunately I have no interest in wanting to see them do well, sorry Ric. I am moving onto greater things with a team I actually like in Atletico Madrid. Had a soft spot for Athletico ever since I got there shirt on holiday a few years ago. And Valencia... Ive now dumped St Etienne for the same reasons as Joe and took on Valencia.
Ric Flair Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Samp drew 1-1 with Chievo. Average. They badly need a finisher.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 September 2008 Posted 23 September 2008 Now they've started!Must say Guiza appears to have made a good start. Besiktas won 3 - 0 and sit, unbeaten, at the top of the Turkcell Superlig. Good times.
Floating Fox Posted 24 September 2008 Posted 24 September 2008 Bochum picked up a fine point away at Cottbus, even if Cottbus did get their first goal of the season against them. Not an easy place to go though. Hopefully they won't go down!! FC SANKT PAULI aren't doing too badly either. 8th after a win last friday against 1860 Munich. It'd be immense if they get promoted :w00t: Got their Derby(ish) away at Hansa Rostock next week. Wanted to go to this game! Hansa, just relegated from Bundesliag, and have some of the most right wing fans around, against uber left wing Pauli. TASTY!
