Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 September 2008 Author Posted 10 September 2008 I got into the NFL in the early 90's when C4 had a programme on it (little short guy dont remember his name). Gary Imlach?
Jonezy Posted 11 September 2008 Posted 11 September 2008 Since Madden99, where I could only win playing with New England Patriots, I have been a Pats fan. Didn't quite expect them to be 3 times Super Bowl winners by now... Brady out for the season is a massive blow, so the perfect season 2nd attempt wont happen now. Do have soft spots for Steve Smith (being the Panther version of Dennis Wise this summer is not cool mind) and Brian Westbrook though.
purpleronnie Posted 11 September 2008 Posted 11 September 2008 I'd love to go to a game but I figured everyone just got so pissed in the sun they didn't realise they were spending so long there. Yeah. Loads of people drinking beer in the car parks b4 the game and you are allowed to drink beer in the stands too, or at least you did when I went. Cool.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 September 2008 Author Posted 11 September 2008 Do have soft spots for Brian Westbrook though. Monster of a player.

I've met him a couple of times and he seems pretty grounded and level headed. Not sure what sparked the issue but the Panthers seem to have handled it well despite losing their best player for two games.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 September 2008 Author Posted 14 September 2008 For those interested, the Eagles / Cowboys game is on tommorow night on Channel 5. Should be good.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 For those interested, the Eagles / Cowboys game is on tommorow night on Channel 5. Should be good. Mate who have my boys got this weekend?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 September 2008 Author Posted 14 September 2008 Mate who have my boys got this weekend? "Your boys" () have got the Rams. The team the Eagles destroyed last week. If they don't comfortably beat them I'll eat a vase.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 "Your boys" () have got the Rams. The team the Eagles destroyed last week. If they don't comfortably beat them I'll eat a vase. Right. So am I expecting an convincing performance?
Samilktray Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 If I followed a team, it'd be the team with the biggest, blackest players. And no I'm not being racist.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 September 2008 Author Posted 15 September 2008 Right. So am I expecting an convincing performance? You should've. They won 41 -13. Was not as good as the Eagles mind. Vikings went down 18 - 15 to an unconvincing Colts team.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 Eagles lost 41 - 37 to the Cowboys last night. Westbrook got three touchdowns.
C-man Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 I meant to post yesterday what a disgraceful second half performance the Vikings turned in on Sunday. Childress should go.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 Also to add that DeSean Jackson mad ehistory by becoming only the second player in history to open his career with consecutive 110 receving yards.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 I was a bit annoyed at seeing the Eagles lose but at least they lost in a dignified way.
C-man Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 15-0 and we fooked it up... DeSean has nothing on All Day A.P.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2008 Author Posted 16 September 2008 15-0 and we fooked it up... DeSean has nothing on All Day A.P. Quite .
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 16 September 2008 Posted 16 September 2008 Anyone know of a free internet tv service that will show the games - would be very much appreciated. (However why I would want to watch the falcons this season is beond me!)
Bert Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 And they gave us a good seeing to last night.Suprised at how good Aaron Rodgers was and how little T-Jack has improved. He's just not gonna make it.We're back on TV next weekend against the Colts I think. Yep, I'm well lucky we're on the first 2 weeks 'cos I'm going uni the week after so will probably miss most of our other TV games!Do it, we'll be UK Vikings Fan Club. 15-0 and we fooked it up... DeSean has nothing on All Day A.P. I might have to start saying we when i talk about the team i have an interest in, sounds fun COME ON TAMPA BAY WE CAN DO IT.
Smiffy Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 15-0 and we fooked it up... DeSean has nothing on All Day A.P. You may aswell get used to it. Hopefully its gonna happen next week aswell!! Panthers get Steve Smith back just in time.
C-man Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 You may aswell get used to it. Hopefully its gonna happen next week aswell!! Panthers get Steve Smith back just in time. Yep, he's bound to have a 200 yard game against the Vikings
Jonezy Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Patriots defense looked good against the Jets, but I'm not too sure about Matt Cassel yet, at least he doesn't make mistakes. Lamont Jordan did the business when he got involved in 4th quarter, weird to see Pats with a decent run attack. On a sidenote, kudos to Cards pass offence. Do they have the best receiver duo (Boldin and Fitzgerald) in the league?
C-man Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Brad Childress has benched Tarvaris Jackson in favour of Gus Frerotte who will start for the remainder of the season. Stunning.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 So am I to gather the Vikings lost then? Balls.
Jonezy Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Wow! The NFL is certainly feeling quite different this year. My Patriots getting slammed at home to last season's worst team, Buffalo only just scraping a win against the Raiders and Colts are drifting away in their division. Very interesting season.
