Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 January 2009 Author Posted 11 January 2009 End of the third quarter, Eagles are on the Giants 1 yard line, 1st down.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 January 2009 Author Posted 11 January 2009 TD - Brent Celek Extra point successful, 20-11. Please hold onto this.
Uncle Albert Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 TD - Brent CelekExtra point successful, 20-11. Please hold onto this. Looks like I wont be stopping up for the Superbowl this year. Last years was a brilliant night up watching it. Big bottle of Coke and Cool Original Doritos with Salsa Dip. Epic. Slim chance of it happening this year.

Still anyone's game, it's been quite poor in my view, neither side looks like they are going to find getting a result easy. A lot can happen in 14 minutes.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 January 2009 Author Posted 11 January 2009 20-11.Go Philadelphia! I'm praying they get through this. Arizona are a beatable opponent. Best chance they've had of winning a Superbowl in years, Westbrook and McNabb have both been so instrumental this season, and, if they do get to the Superbowl, my Seattle and Denver supporting mates will never hear the end of this. Years of abuse I've had. Now it's my turn. Looks like I wont be stopping up for the Superbowl this year. Last years was a brilliant night up watching it. They haven't done anything since John Elway. As for Seattle, they couldn't even get out of the NFC West this year. Woeful. Oh, and it's over.
Jordan Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 Sigh. Eli? Where were you today? I mean, you weren't Jake Delhomme bad, but still, you were pretty bad.
MC Prussian Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Bring on the AFC title game and then the Superbowl, because the Pittsburgh Steelers are simply smashing:

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 There will be an Austrlian playing in the Superbowl

Woeful. Oh, and it's over. Yeah, it was 2005 I think, not sure. And I know it sounds stupid but for some reason they just have this hate for Philly, McNabb and Westbrook. Ignorance, really. Not just the Eagles either, any team that comes from Philadelphia. They just refuse to admit when they've done well. My friends are nobs.
Jonezy Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 How awesome are these playoffs.... Both Mannings out, San Diego out (Pats have their 2nd round pick in the draft, and they only have an 8-8 record, but would have picked last or 2nd last if they went to the SB) and the Phins out. Now only thing left is Steelers not winning it all and these playoffs have been perfect from my point of view. Love the Eagles and the Ravens defenses, and Fitzgerald has made some big plays. NFL has again proved impossible to predict!
TrickyTrev Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 After spending quite a bit of time in Pittsburgh this year I have got into NFL. It's nice supporting somebody good for once too! Watched all four games this weekend, I reckon its gonna be an all Pennsylvania Superbowl (have two teams from the same state competed in the Superbowl before?) with the Steelers taking it.
TrickyTrev Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 If anyone is interested in the answer to my question about a final between two teams from the same state... I believe there have been 2 previous cases. The New York Giants beat the Buffallo Bills in Superbowl XXV and 4 years later the San Fran 49's beat the San Diego Chargers.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 January 2009 Posted 13 January 2009 Who do you guys think is the better kicker, Sav Rocca or Benny Graham

Who do you guys think is the better kicker, Sav Rocca or Benny Graham Probably Rocca; Graham's quickly becoming a journeyman but he got a lot of attention when he came over to play for the Jets a few years ago. They're both decent but I'm not sure either of them could be considered among the league's best--certainly not in the same class as Darren Bennett was! The Aussie style of punting (with the nose of the ball pointed down) is slowly creeping its way into the game but the different shape of the American football will probably prevent that style from becoming the preferred choice of NFL punters.
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 There goes the Pennsylvania Party: Arizona winning against Philly 24-6 in the third.
