knowitall Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Stephen has just had another operation. This time he is hoping it works. However I dont think he will play again this season. Will take in the region of 6 months to recover.

Kilworthfox Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 This is true. He believes he will, but !!!!!!!!!!! What is exactly wrong with him? I heard he had bruised bones? I am no doctor so please don't tek the pizz
Corky Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 You have to feel sorry for him. I think he desperately wants to play for us this season to help us get back up, but it looks as though his career is on the knife-edge.
leicesterseddon Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Correct. I sadly feel we'll never see him in a Leicester shirt again. It's just like that when a player gets an injuury and keeps relapsing, needing further operations. Sadly this also means we're fooked in midfield, because Mandaric will not spend any money in January.
lildave3 Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 Sad news really. A centre midfielder on loan was already a necessity for me, this has no real impact on that.

Thracian Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 On a personal level I hope and pray that the operation is a success and that he gets himself back to health and even back into football if at all possible. As far as our team is concerned he has never been the greatest midfielder and his current injury problems may to some degree have explained why. They don't explain why he kept getting picked when clearly below his best or why we've never really invested in adequate replacements when knowing full well that Clemence was way off ever being fully fit. For what's it's worth, and after the ignominy of last season's relegation, Oakley and King have done much to give us hope for a return to The Championship but we have still failed to invest in the additional midfield cover and competition necessary to retain hose hopes. Times in history such false economies have proved costly. I hope that Manderic, Pearson and Leicester City don't end up with regrets on this issue. We don't need replacements for King and Oakley. We need assistance.
Lillehamring Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 should free up quite a hefty salary, at least.
Daggers Posted 7 November 2008 Posted 7 November 2008 He won't play for us again. He's not the only one. I take satisfaction from the knowledge that at least my season ticket is providing him a constant source of pocket money.
carterfox90 Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 feel sorry for hm but he has never shone for us so therefore no great loss like others have said our present midfielders need help not replacing

Indeed - and the same could apply to Oakley, who's having to play through a long-term injury at the moment. All the more reason why we need midfield reinforcements sooner rather than later.
jonw88 Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Meanwhile... Manchester United have sent England midfielder Owen Hargreaves to world renowned knee surgeon Richard Stearman in the USA to cure the England midfielder of the persistent tendinitis threatening his career. (Times) I think they meant Steadman!
dandannieldanok Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Hope he recovers and does play football again but I don't have that much sympathy for him after last season's string of toothless performances.
Solihullfox Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Hope he recovers and does play football again but I don't have that much sympathy for him after last season's string of toothless performances. His injury probably explains a large number of the toothless performances.
Father Ted Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 I wish him the best of luck in his career but elsewhere. I hope he plays football again - but not for us.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 His injury probably explains a large number of the toothless performances. The toothless performances were before this injury.
Jimmy Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 The toothless performances were before this injury. I thought he was carrying the injury the whole time
dandannieldanok Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 I thought he was carrying the injury the whole time Well if he was then it's poor on Martin Allen's part, spending £750,000 on a crocked player. The same thing has been said about Oakley ever since his arrival, if you ask me it's just an excuse rather than reality.
