i don't think fox123 was right to complain, the situation was being dealt with, and via several pm's to daggers and poynton last evening i tried to smooth things over.

fox123 made this thread, after the offending post, and the subsequent fall out, had been removed, in an attempt, by me to put an end to the arguing of the night before last. which failed, i believe, because this thread was started and served only to poke the hornets nest i was trying to calm down.

if anyone had the moral right to start the thread it was poynton, in my opinion.

Yet, from what I am informed in this thread, its an open forum where people are free to express their views. I think you will find that of all my posts in this thread I haven't resorted to any name calling (apart from original post) and have apologised for a typing error, I wont apologise about starting the thread.

I'm hated by most now, because of a typo.

Bloody hell. No one hates you. This is an internet forum. Personally I'm indifferent to you in the same way I'm indifferent to many people on here. I don't know you, I wouldn't want to pass judgement. Anyone who does hate you has a serious problem.

I know you "don't care" about people who say you're taking this too seriously but, seriously, you are. Take a step back. Get some perspective. The best thing that could happen from all of this foolishness is the next time there's a decent FT contingent getting together for a home or away game come along, have a few beers, and shake a few hands. It'll all feel a lot better after.

From meeting quite a few of the posters on here in real, normal, everyday life they're all decent, down to earth, fun people who just happen to share a common passion. I suggest you give it a try.

I think these last 17 pages of this thread should be passed to the police.

Everyone will get arrested, fingered, bummed and banged up and that will be that.

Who suffers? The Walkers Stadium that's who. As it will be empty (again) for the FA Cup, as you lot will be behind bars (and not of the drinking variety).

I expect you to become my sugardaddy at the next event. You can't just play with my emotions for it to have all been an internet lie.

Forget it sweet (and sorry for calling you a bint)

:dunno: I've been called worse. :|

It's ok, my grandad always told me "bint" is arabic for "young lady". Turns out it's arabic for "girl" or "daughter", but it's still technically a compliment

People were just quick to pick up on any discrepancies that were in my original post, because, they really didn't know how else to deal with it.

I will openly apologise if my original post come across in the way that I was accusing him of being a Paedophile, as stated above that's not the way it meant to come out, but I certainly wont apologise for the reasoning behind the post.

Nah, I was quick to pick up on the "potential paedophilia" discrepancy because it's what I do on this forum ie not be serious and post bollocks (like making certain letters in peoples posts really big to find "hidden messages" ) It's the same with TPH for instance, we probably had quite a big hand in turning this thread into it's current form. It's nothing personal against you and it's not because your gripe is against Daggers, we would've done it in any thread  We're simple folk, happy with our ways. I think James. has nailed it here:

I have a simple approach to FT: If you don’t like what you read then don’t fucking read it.

This is an internet forum, I think this needs stating again as it is a very salient point. An internet forum, especially a football-based one, is akin to a pub night - full of characters, bubbling with noise. There will be people you will fall out with as much as there will be people you'd walk over coals for. Thracian posted something similar around a year or two ago when there was an ongoing conflict between a couple of people.

If anyone gets bunched up about someone else's point of view then that is their problem. I welcome the online (and real) company of those who entertain me - and oddly enough it is only those who have an online sense of humour that ever bother meeting up with others from here...those who always have some kind of issue often seem to stay away to carp and bitch about cliques. I’m not here to debate with the stupid – if I have found you “limited” I stop bothering to discuss matters. I block you. Deal with it, is your life really so shallow that this ranks as anything of importance? If it is then you need to be finding other hobbies, this is the wrong place for you.

I subscribe to the Bill Hicks & the Chris Morris schools of philosophy: there are no boundaries, there are no limits to what can have the piss taken, anything and everyone is game. It's one which some people have a problem with - but (again) that is internet life. If you are offended then don't read it or turn the damn computer off, no one is forcing you to be here or read this. Anything I post should hardly come as a bloody surprise and so why are you trawling through what I write just to be offended? What a waste of your life that you do.

There is only one topic I have never used for a giggle or insults and that is ‘spastic’. I do this for no other reason than I already appreciate that Stez would find this deeply offensive and I value him highly. I self censor on one issue because of who may be offended, not that I appreciate why offense is caused. Poynton Blue called me a “kiddie fiddler” and “a nonce” because he was trying to wind me up but it didn’t work. It was a limp effort to try to annoy me based on my profession – so I ran with it. If he didn’t want a retort he should not have opened Pandora’s Box. If he (plainly) could not deal with on-line comments then he should question why he comes into General Chat in the first place.

The thread creator could have sent an Admin a PM if he was affronted but he didn’t, he chose to start this thread instead. Wallowing around like a love-scorned bitch he has pronounced his righteous indignation in a wonderfully ignorant manner, repeating the lame-brained child abuser inference. Anyone displaying this level of crass stupidity deserves to be ignored, I am simply surprised at how much he cares. His initial post has received a glorious amount of piss-taking and I fully appreciate the wonderful entertainment that ensued – so, well done 123fox.

Maybe I've misunderstood him, it's happened before. I thought Joeb was a bit of a tool when he started posting but he's a smashing bloke, I thought Danny Boy had special needs but he is going to become a forum mainstay and has made some brilliant contributions recently. I was wrong with them but it didn't matter, they didn't get all bent about perceived negative comments. The number of times 123fox has mounted his high horse of righteous indignation is risible. Get over it child and get on with your life; maybe if you spent less time worrying about what people say about you or what they write you would enjoy your time here more. I feel flattered by the non-stop interest you show in me but it will never work between us and I’m more than happy with my current family (unless Singh has finally made the decision).

I fully appreciate the fact that a whole swathe of this place would have no desire to drink with me - but so what? This isn't a popularity contest. I don't give a shit about my post count, the FT awards and any perceived clique/inner circle nonsense. I suspect half of this crap would vanish if my post count was zeroed, that's how petty I believe it runs to; that and the inability to distinguish fantasy from reality. I do care what people I rate think, people who I meet up with on match days, people I drink with.

I've said this before, but it appears it needs repeating again, that those who have met me appreciate that I rarely take anything seriously, life is too short. There's important things to be bothered about - the health of my parents, the well-being of my kids, whether my wife's cooking will ever improve beyond slightly burned - and there's things not to be bothered about: what people say on the internet features at the top of this list. I come here for shits and giggles, I don’t feel the need to be constantly placing emoticons in my text to massage people’s egos. I don’t come on here to be insipid.

Names will not bother me - call me anything you want as it matters not...but when someone starts a pathetic slagging fest I will join in, it's the online insult equivalent of chess. It's sport. Someone started up, someone who takes certain things very, very seriously. I responded. He cracked. It was sport. If he didn't want the response he shouldn't have posted the original insult it is as simple as that. I have no idea why anyone should be offended by any comment I made, no idea at all. It boils down to simply maintaining a grip, let's remind ourselves one more time, this is the internet. This is not real life.

I don't like foppy Jonathan Ross so I don't watch his shows...and you know what - I don't get annoyed and rant at the TV screen. Likewise, I'm not bothered whether anyone writes to me to give me "support":

Dear Daggers,

I am writing to support you as I believe you are right to find Ross offensive...but please don’t stop watching television. If we keep complaining maybe Ross will leave or we can get him banned.

Boohoohoo, he makes me so upset too.

Yours,

A Simpleton.

This situation really is at that level of stupidity. Almost as stupid as the person who has gone to the level of threatening to "get me" three times and once to announce he is “looking forward” to the "FT bowling". What a sad fuck, to be threatening someone online with violence. That really waves the flag of mental incompetence. Your IP is logged, where you live maps to it, you are not anonymous, just another person who seriously needs to question whether they need a new hobby because the internet doesn’t seem to be your friend.

In conclusion, you find what I write offensive? Place me on ignore or find another hobby.

...and this was my last post in this thread.

For some reason, I read the whole thing in the voice of Al Pacino. He makes cracking speeches, too.

You should hire Al Pacino to read this. Or practice a really good Pacino impression and read it next time we're all together. Seriously, top draw Dave.

This is true.

I don't take things very seriously on here and do honestly apologise if that offends anyone.

You lot really should know what to expect from Alex, myself et al.

Three-match ban for TPH, maybe upgraded to four if appeal is unsuccessful.

A spokesperson for the FoxesTalk FA said: "The People's Hero has seriously breached rules and has brought the site into disrepute. Laughing at others and joking around sends out a wrong message to young people. This behaviour is inappropriate and cannot be condoned in any way".

No. Even Thracian never really tried to groom me. Which is a bit upsetting. Am I ugly?

Rob Kelly: "It is a real shame to see TPH banned from FoxesTalk. He brought real energy and passion to the site. He really is a Smashing Bunch Of Lads. I hope the FTFA re-consider this ban".

TPH's best friend Ultra is unavailable for comment.

A cause for TPH- Potentially attempting to entice people to Kent without their permission.
