Wycombe Fox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Sounds like Flavio's been on the sour grapes again! Taken from http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...ne/8001234.stm; Renault boss Flavio Briatore reckons the ruling in favour of the 'diffuser three' has made a farce of this season's world championship. He reportedly told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Our (McLaren, Ferrari and Renault) drivers are or have been world champions, and then you have a (Brawn) driver who was almost retired, and another who is a 'paracarro' (Italian for a roadside concrete post) fighting for the championship. I don't know how we can say we have credibility."
isaidno Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Should be a cracking race with the grid the way it is. I'd rather Webber wins than Vettel though
StanSP Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Should be a cracking race with the grid the way it is. I'd rather Webber wins than Vettel though I'd rather Glock wins and Sutil comes second
isaidno Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 For the 2009 season, the FIA are making public the weights of all cars ahead of the race start to help give an idea of relative fuel loads. The cars that made Q3 are weighed after qualifying, while the weights of the remaining cars must be declared by their teams shortly after the session.Below is the provisional grid for China with each car's weight. Note - Toyota’s Timo Glock has dropped from 14th to 19th after his gearbox change. 1. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 644kg 2. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 637 3. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 646.5 4. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn GP, 661 5. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 659 6. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 664.5 7. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 650.5 8. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 673.5 9. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 679 10. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 673 11. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber, 679 12. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 697 13. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 690 14. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 682.7 15. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 690 16. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 697.9 17. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber, 659 18. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 648 19. Timo Glock, Toyota, 652 20. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 679.5 Top 3 running very light cars, especially Alonso
Brainy Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Very surprised nothing's been done, or that McLaren haven't complained, about Vettel blocking Kovy and ruining his chances of making it in to Q3.
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Massa is wishing he'd got his white visor!!! We all know this is the real reason he packed it in!
hairy Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Another early Sunday morning, another wet race. Wasn't the same without the carnage on the first lap. Overall a couple of interesting moments but overall a bit of a bore.
Asha Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Ferrari. Horrific start to the season. Joint bottom of the constructors with Force India.
Wycombe Fox Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Cracked me up in the first few laps behind the safety car when the commentary cut to Vettel's race engineer; Race Engineer: "Sebastian, How is the track, how is the track?" Vettel: "There is water on the track" No sh*t Sherlock!
Brainy Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Horrific start to the season.Joint bottom of the constructors with Force India. You must have been made up when Suitl crashed then.
Asha Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 You must have been made up when Suitl crashed then. Yes I was, which is amazing really. We're fighting to not come last at the moment I can't believe the swing that's taken place. Going from the best constructor to the worst, in such a short space of time. Unbelievable.
FilboFox Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Yes I was, which is amazing really. We're fighting to not come last at the moment I can't believe the swing that's taken place. Going from the best constructor to the worst, in such a short space of time. Unbelievable. Don't worry... you'll pull yourself back together over the course of the season and finish higher than the bottom 2. What a fantastic story Brawn-Mercedes is though! Button FTW!
dandannieldanok Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 McLaren want VettelLink I should think everyone wants him nevermind just McLaren, strangely he's proven to be a lot more effective in slightly adverse conditions rather than the dry so far in his career.
Asha Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I want Ferrari to have Vettel. I wanted him last year before they extended Raikkonen's contract.
Brainy Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I think Kovalainen's contract runs out this season so if he doesn't impress the move could be on.
isaidno Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I'm looking forward to Bahrain on Sunday. It'll be interesting to see how fast Red Bull are in the dry.
