Hitesh Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Comical radio commentry of the day...Massa - GET ME A WHITE VISOR NOW, I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING, I NEED A WHITE VISOR - QUICKLY!! Stay calm Massa, keep your cool. That was funny! Bit of a farce on the points decision in the end!

I think the words were "Felipe, baby, calm down!" The only thing thats keeping me happy at the moment are Ferrari's cock ups. Raikkonen: "My tyres are completely destroyed" just as it started to rain
StanSP Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 When I heard about Raikkonen eating ice cream wearing sandals, it was as if he didn't care about the race anymore. Rightly so. It's as if he could tell the future!
lildave3 Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Kovalainen hasn't actually finished a lap yet has he?
Jimmy Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Kovalainen is just a pathetic driver, he was bad at Renault, why McLaren stuck with him I don't know
Father Ted Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Quote of the day: When a driver goes off the track while battling for his place - Webber or Vettel?? When showing the replay, the posh commentator says: 'He's spun off again!', with which the other one replies: 'no, it's the replay'
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Atleast spell it right... Well 'Braun' are shaving seconds off everyone else!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Was it Bernie's decision to bring these races forward, to try and accomodate the european viewers? Made for a bit of farce today, it's suprising the race wasn't moved, as this was clear to happen. As interesting as it was for 25 or so laps, the hour or so watching wet drivers look wet, and people hover cars with umbrealla's wasn't exactly exciting! (fair play to kimmi though!)
Ultra Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 It was only half a race, so the rule makes some sense. I hope there are no disqualification fiascoes this week though..
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 It was only half a race, so the rule makes some sense.I hope there are no disqualification fiascoes this week though.. Well will McLaren decide to appeal against they're 7th in the vein hope to get 5th back? If I was McLaren I wouldn't appeal about anything else this season! And may I add, although they were wrong to lie to the stewards, why did the stewards reverse a decision without obtaining all the evidence required? It seems a stupid and ludicrus position they got themselves in.

Im not sure about Bernie but the race started at 1700 Malaysian time and the locals apparently said that it should have started an hour earlier because when it rains, it goes dark much quicker and so if they started an hour earlier it would be fine but the FIA being the tossers they are wouldn't listen...
isaidno Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Only just found out the result, gotta laugh at Ferrari
isaidno Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Jenson Button will find out if his car is legal on Tuesday when world motorsport's governing body makes a final ruling on the diffuser row. The F1 championship leader's Brawn team and rivals Toyota and Williams have a split-level diffuser some other teams say is illegal. The FIA dismissed an initial protest but the protesting teams have appealed. If an independent panel rules in their favour then teams using the diffuser could lose points they have won so far. British driver Button - who insists their car is "100% legal" - has won the first two races of the season and his team lead the constructors' championship with 25 points, ahead of Toyota on 16.5 points. The other eight teams have just 17 points between them and Ferrari, the reigning constructors' champions, are yet to get off the mark. The diffuser is the rear part of the floor of the car between the rear wheels and under the rear wing. WHAT IS A DIFFUSER? It is the rear part of the floor of the car between the rear wheels and under the rear wing It is crucial to the aerodynamics, and small changes can have a big impact on downforce - and therefore grip and speed It is crucial to the aerodynamics of the car, and small changes can have a big impact on the amount of downforce - and therefore grip and speed - the car can produce. Ferrari are one of the teams behind the protest, along with Renault, Red Bull and BMW Sauber. The outcome of the hearing is likely to have a significant effect on the season, whichever way the independent judges rule. If the protestors win their appeal the FIA has two options. It could allow the results of the first two races to stand, with the three teams concerned being forced to alter their cars from the Chinese GP onwards, or they could remove any points won by those teams in Australia and Malaysia. If the judges rule the diffusers are legal, then the protesting teams - along with the other teams on the grid - are expected to try and build split-level diffusers into their cars. That means they might have to make significant changes to the overall design of their cars, which would be a difficult undertaking once a season is under way. "If they [brawn, Williams and Toyota] are allowed to race with it they have a bit of an advantage and all teams will try to copy that idea," Renault's two-time world champion Fernando Alonso said after the first race of the season in Melbourne. "The diffuser makes you go fast if you have a new front end, new sidepods, a new engine cover. You have to rebuild the whole car and that would take a lot of months. "We'll see what happens. It's a complicated issue and the championship could be more or less decided on the 14th. "If the diffusers are legal, the Brawns are going to be nearly unreachable for any other team. "They have proved they are on a different level. Right now they are unbeatable." Brawn GP team boss Ross Brawn said he had offered to clear up what he said were "ambiguities" in the regulations concerning diffusers a year ago, but that the other teams turned him down. "I would just be surprised if the appeal court can make judgements on technicalities - it's quite a complex technical matter," he told BBC Sport "You can't be 100% confident but I hope common sense prevails on their side." If they take the points away from Brawn, Toyota & Williams it will turn this season into a complete farce.
Jimmy Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 If they take the points away from Brawn, Toyota & Williams it will turn this season into a complete farce. this IS the fia we're talking about, expect Brawn Williams and Toyota to be expelled from the championship

Brainy Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Nothing will happen. Why will everybody be crowding around and copying the diffuser those three cars on the grid if they were illegal?
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Breaking news on the BBC... The diffuser has been deemed legal! Now the other teams will be playing catch-up.

welck12 Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Good to hear; they followed the rules, made their interpretation, they even consulted the FIA people to check first. Chalk one up to the little guy!
