Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin 8Edworthy, Tunchev, Morrison, Mattock, King, Berner, Adams, Davies, Powell 5 Howard 8 Fryatt 10 That will do for me too apart from giving Howard 7.5. The team couldn't be bothered much and neither can I.
Ultra Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin - 7. Uncertain in the first half, and tested far more than he should have been. Made important saves though. Edworthy - 5. Lack of pace was exposed at times. Tunchev - 5. As bad as I've seen him for us. Not his usual commanding self at all. Morrison - 5. As lacklustre as those around him. Mattock - 4. Badly exposed for the two goals conceded, and also went walkabout on other occasions. Adams - 2. Looked way off the pace. His touch and crossing reminded me of Josh Low at his worst. King - 4. Far more ego than effort. No goal to rescue his performance today. Berner - 5. Very subdued, possibly unfit. Dyer - 6. Some useful runs, not always with much end product though. Fryatt - 9*. Quality hat-trick and could have had more. Carried the team on his own at times. Howard - 3. Yet another p!sspoor performance against 4th div opposition. Nigel, get rid. Powell - 5. Failed to bring stability to defence, Davies - 6. Useful debut, made some important tackles.
RowlattsFox Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin -7.5 Edworthy -6 Morrison -6 Tunchev -5 Mattock -5 Adams -5 - some of his touches were bad but atleast he was involved and you noticed he was playing, unlike anyone else in the midfield. King -4 Berner -4 Dyer -5 Howard -7- Fryatt -9 Davies -5 Powell -5
Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 King - 4. Far more ego than effort. No goal to rescue his performance today. Bu the BBC do credit him with an assist for our winner though! I don't actually recall details of the build up so can't confirm it or otherwise. Nor do I think it would have made his performance any better than a five. However I can't see where the ego bit came into it. Perhaps you could explain?
Leicester-Fox Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin 8 made some excellent saves Edworthy 5 Tunchev 5 Morrison 3 Mattock 5 Dyer 5 King 4 Berner 4 Adams.................. 0 Waste of time him being selected Davies 5 Powell 5 Howard 8 - Good performance but needs to start scoring! Fryatt 9
James. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Howard - 3. Yet another p!sspoor performance against 4th div opposition. Nigel, get rid. Ultra, I'm not having a go but I'm intrigued as to how you can rate him 3 whereas everyone else so far has given him at least 7. Yes there are different opinions and everyone is entitled to their own but could you briefly explain for the benefit of those that didn't see the game (or saw it through some blurred internet stream while actually watching Wales in the rugby) why you thought he was so bad?
Mikey Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin - 6 Edworthy - 5 Tunchev - 6 Morrison - 6 Mattock - 5 Adams - 4 King - 5 Berner - 5 Dyer - 5 Fryatt - 9 Howard - 8 Subs: Davies - 6 Powell - 6

Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 When u next seeing ure bum chum King? Do you always slide your tongue through the gutter before you speak or is it simply for my benefit?
Joe. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 I just want to say that Adams was absolutely awful. That is all.
reynard Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Martin 7 Good performance. Some good saves and some good safe catches. Looked to have injured his back, let's hope it isn't too bad. Mattock 3 All the application of a player who is already half way out the door on his way to another club. Consistently out of position. Tunchev 6 Saved by second half performance. 1st half was the worst I have seen him play for us. Morrison 4 Really looked average. Edworthy 5 Tried hard but outpaced almost all the time. This is a real weakness. Dyer 3 Was he playing? Berner 5 Distinctly average but perhaps a bit unlucky to be subbed. King 3 absolutely shocking. Looked like a schoolboy totally out of his depth. Adams 2 Huge disappointment. Had a chance today to make the place his own and totally fluffed it. Howard 7 Another good effort. But we need both our strikers to at least look like they can score. Fryatt 9.5 Excellent. 1st goal was pure class. Davies 5 looked ok but no more. Powell 3 Absolutely no improvement over Mattock.
Alf Bentley Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 If you went to the game, please post your ratings at www.player-ratings.com/rate. I don't understand the extreme hostility to Adams' performance today. OK, it wasn't a 10/10 effort, but he worked hard (unlike most of the midfield and some of the defence), a decent proportion of his passes went to team-mates and he had an assist for the first goal. Looks a better option than Gradel at the moment, though Dyer-Berner-King-Oakley still looks the best option, injuries permitting...

Looks a better option than Gradel at the moment, though Dyer-Berner-King-Oakley still looks the best option, injuries permitting... I agree, Adams is a better option than Gradel. I actually thought he played really well today and most of his crosses were decent alot better quality than most we have seen this season. He has a good understanding with Fryatt. I thought he was one of our better players today Martin - 7.5 Made some great saves Edworthy - 6.5 Put in some good tackles Morrsion - 6.5 Afew too many hoofballs but played quite well Tunchev - 6 Not his best game Mattock - 6 Doesn't seem interested to me Adams - 7.5 Played really well, some great crosses Berner - 6.5 Don't know why he was subbed had a steady game King - 6 Please stop passing the ball back, pass it forward or run with it to create space Dyer - 6 Didn't do alot today compared to normal Fryatt - 9 Quality, really happy for him, he deserves his hat trick Howard - 7 Wins most of the headers when defending, needs to score tho
lcfc81 Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Its funny looking at peoples ratings having listened to the game and not seen it. The radio suggested in the first half only Fryatt and Adams could take any credit from the performance and in the second half morrison the pick of the defence and Martin in goal!!! I then read FT and everyone says Howard, Fryatt and Martin, with people berating Adams, Mattock and Morrison. Who to believe.
Joe. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Adams - 7.5 Played really well, some great crosses I can't recall one "great" cross. That's because there weren't any.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 It's a shame Adams didn't take his chance to impress today, because I actually rate him.
clazkel Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 I can't recall one "great" cross. That's because there weren't any. I have to disagree i think he did put some decent (fair enough maybe not great) crosses in the box
C-man Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Ultra, your rating of Howard is laughable. Seriously, you think Dyer was twice as good as Steve? Howard was the second best player on the park today after Fryatt.
Sods Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Ultra, how on earth did Steve Howard only get a 3? What should have he had done differnetly? Thats actually a joke.
Simi Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Fryatt - 2 - Useless, get rid. Least someone is talking sense. Three goals I know, but what the **** did he contribute to the team? Did he charge down the ball at every chance? No Where was he winning headers against the big centre half? Nowhere. If we get the chance, sell.
Hullfox Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Howard - 3. Yet another p!sspoor performance against 4th div opposition. Nigel, get rid. Yeah, get rid Nigel. Ultra, he da man.
Daggers Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Fives across the board apart from Howard and Fryatt. All in all a shockingly poor defensive display, approached in the manner of a pre-season friendly. C'mon Histon! C'mon you Poppies!
