King Cal Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 Martin. 7. Did what he had to do well, looked a little nervy first half though. Gilbert. 8. Good game today, linked well with Oakley. Hobbs. 7. Steady game, solid, but tries too hard to hit a 50 yard pass when theres a simple ball on. Tunchev. 8. Awesome first half made one of the best strikers around at this level (Aaron McLean) look average. Berner. 6. Glad to see him at Left Back, Done a job in centre midfield, but not a midfielder. Oakley. 8. Awesome yet again think he's been outstanding at right midfield. King. 8. Looks a different midfielder since Oakley moved to right midfield. Davies. 9. Man of the Match for me ran the show and 10 times better than Berner in there. Dyer. 7. Good game without ever really shining. Howard. 8. Work tirelessly again for the team, disappointed that all the boo boys who hate him and slag him off decide to cheer him and sing his song today, need to support him every week not when he scores. Fryatt. 8. Hasent seen himself last few games and i don't mean goals or performances, mean in himself, dosen't look as bubbly and cheerful. I'm worried he's a goner. Dickov. 6. Disappointing again, personally prefer Campbell.

Unabomber Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Martin 7 - Did fine, was abit worried when he came out for that tackle. Gilbert 8 - He was superb, makes very few mistakes and is always playing from the half way line. Hobbs 7 - Improving from a dodgy patch, playing very well with Tunchev. Tunchev 8 - Playing extemely well, making it look far more easy that it is. Proud to have him in our team. Berner 7 - Was fairly dodgy early on, vastly improved in the second half, love his enthusiasm. Dyer 7.5 - Spent a lot of time cutting in, made some very nice touches and was key to some nice passing moves. Davies 8 - Was amaxing. Made some really neat touches, and looked to get into the box at every chance. King 8 - Also made some lovely passes, scored a nice goal, very pleased to have him in the team atm. Oakley 8 - Looked very creative today, was involved in many attacking moves today. Howard 9 - Won everything, played some great passes out wide and deserved his goal. Fryatt 8 - Played very well, ran the channels superbly and benifited with a goal. Fair play/ Pearsom 9 - He was absolutely spot on tactically, we stopped them playing, and then just battered them and outclassed them in all areas. 4 - 0 win at home and he acts as if we lost. To me this only indicates that we still aren't at our best. Lovely stuff.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle5375751.ece Nice report but Tunchev 6?! Erm...
Unabomber Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Berner gets a higher rating than davies and Tunchev?
reynard Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Martin 7 Personally I think his confidence is improving and he did everything pretty much ok today. Clearly really wanted a clean sheet as could be seen from him having a real go at Tunchev for being out of position at 3-0 up with just a few minutes to go. Berner 7.5 One or two iffy moments early on but looked a good left back at this level. Put in some good crosss. Tunchev 9.5 A close to perfection as a centre half can get. Did he lose a single aerial challenge? Hs reading of the game is excellent and his passing is simple but effective. An absolute key player and one we must keep. Hobbs 8.5 He was very good today. Bearing in mind their attackers are rated at 5m and have an excellent reputation he was part of a defensive unit that marshalled them very effectively. If anyone from Liverpool had been watching then they would have been well pleased. Not only is he improving but playing alongside a quality centre half is starting to pay off in terms of his distribution and calmness. Gilbert 8 An excellent peformance generally. Especially his link up play with oakley. His pace is very uselful as well. Dyer 7 Much better than the last home performance. He seemed to play with a freer role and often popped up out of position. Some of his runs off the ball were excellent. Davies 9.5 MOM for me. He gave the side balance grit and his forward play was excellent. The shame is that if he aintains ftness and continues to play that well then we will probably have litle chance of keeping him. King 8 I'll admit I've not been his biggest fan but the manager's introduction of first Berner and now Davies is starting to ay off and his performances are getting better and better. Another goal and a lot of good work in midifeld. I can sense some higher league scouts starting to take an interest. Oakley 8 Actually played lke a captain. Great free kick for the goal. Fantastic tackle leading up to the second and some great movement off the ball. Doesn't look like the player of a few weeks ago. Howard 8.5 An immense performance capped by an excellent goal. It is not only his flicks and his physical presecnce up front which unsettled them but some of his link play around the half way line and just inside their half was truly of a high standard. Fryatt 8.5 Another goal and another good all round performance. Dickov 5 A petulant foul rather spoilt what was an ok cameo. There were a few touches which showed he may still be able to cut it.
Jimmy Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle5375751.eceNice report but Tunchev 6?! Erm... well he did have a fairly easy day it's not that far off

Corky Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Martin- 7 (Caught everything, looked solid, great to see him berating his defence at 4-0 up in the last minute as well) Gilbert- 7.5 (Fabulous performance, got forward well, wonderful ball to Fryatt for the second goal. Sign him permanently Nige) Tunchev- 8 (So calm, so cool, so class) Hobbs- 7.5 (Backed up Tunch excellently. Their front two had very little to worry us with) Berner- 7 (Good signing again) Oakley- 8 (Starting to become a vital member, wants the ball and uses it intelligently) Davies- 8 (Gets stuck in, works the ball around and has a decent shot on him) King- 8 (Another goal, and got stuck in more. Looks a very good prospect) Dyer- 6 (Struggling a bit at the moment, but still offered a threat and tries hard) Fryatt- 8.5 (Works very hard, brilliant chasing down and cross for first goal, very composed for his own. 23 goals and 10 assists- can't ask for any more) Howard- 8.5 (Worked his socks off for 90 minutes, played some lovely balls out wide and scored a great goal. Delighted for him, he deserved it)
The Stig Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Martin- 7 Did everything he had to, I still don't think he commands his area brilliantly. Gilbert- 8 Got forward nicely and looked comfortable. Tunchev- 8 So calm, so cool, so class, I agree with Corky Hobbs- 7.5 (Backed up Tunch excellently. Their front two had very little to worry us with, I again agree with Corky Berner- 7 First time I've seen him in left back and was impressed Oakley- 8 Is making this position his own, comes inside when needs to, comfotable on the ball, intelligent player Davies- 8.5 King- 8.5 Him and Davies were excelllent, complimented each other brilliantly and gave the boys up front excellent supplu Dyer- 6.5 - Some nice bursts of pace as per usual but he's played better Fryatt- 8.5 Worked hard, scored, looked constantly dangerous and a handful Howard- 8.5 Did the dirty work and waht a finish, pleased for him Dickov 5 Looked up for it but flopped for me. Needs more time obviously but didn't make an impact and then gobbed off at the ref.
lildave3 Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Performers of the 12 days of Ian Ormondroyd-mas in Akash Tandoori, London Road - 10. Did you get confused and go to their ground instead?
Guest ttfn Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Martin 7 - Looked very shaky on crosses but his distribution was better and made a couple of decent saves when the ball bounced awkwardly in front of him. Nonetheless he's no Hendo. Gilbert 8 - Terrific display. Endless energy, and he makes playing Oakley on the right work through his willingness to bomb past him. Also defensively competent. Would play him at Pro Evo any day. Hobbs 7.5 - Good performance, decent distribution in particular. Tunchev 9.5 - Have never been one to rant and rave about him before but I see why people do now. The Rio Ferdinand of League One. And indeed, of all the lower leagues. The best performance I've seen by a Leicester centre back for ages. Berner 6 - Poor today. Terrible first half but got better in the second. Poor control and passing but was in a defence that kept a clean sheet so must have been doing something right. Oakley 7.5 - Some fantastic play - his cross for the 3rd was outstanding - but also wasted a few decent positions with mindless crosses out of play which cost him an 8. King 7.5 - Really starting to mature into the sort of player that Thracian has been saying he is for ages. Of course, he wasn't back then, but is now starting to take control of games. Ran the midfield with, but wasn't as good as... Davies 9 - Superb display, absolutely dominated their centre midfielders. Box-to-box, full of energy, good neat passing, willingness to shoot, decent tackling. Had it all yesterday. Dyer 6.5 - Totally gone off the boil in the last couple of weeks. Absolutely no right foot as was shown when he missed that one-on-one. Still beat their right back easily on a couple of occasions and managed to look reasonably threatening Fryatt 8.5 - Always looked threatening. Worked tirelessly for the cause, and the first goal came about from him being a total pest more than anything else. Outstandingly cool finish for his goal. Howard 9 - Top-class centre forward display. Barely beaten in the air and always took up good positions. Fantastic shot for the goal and it was great to see NP and the rest of the team so happy for him. Dickov 4 - Knobhead. Campbell's got to be better than him
clazkel Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I think either King or Oakley will get MoTM. I dont think King will, i think Howard, Davies or Oakley, but i'll go with Howard
Thracian Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Davies or Howard. Kingy wouldn't get MoM with a hat-trick. Ultra and a few others would still vote him low!
Koke Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I've been critical of King in the past few months, but he has stepped up a level and shown what he can do. 8 goals, joint second top scorer with Dyer at Christmas time is excellent for a midfielder.
Guest Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Davies or Howard. That's who I'd give it to. Not that anybody had a bad game at all, I just thought Davies was immense. Can see Wolves wanting him back sharpish
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Excellent Yesterday 3 main points 1:Tunch.....Like a Refugee Steve Walsh 2:Fans.......Cracking to hear to fans in unity all with there singing voices on its how L block should be week in week out keep it up,also helped having the drum back, and havent had enough credit for yesterdays support the 15minute ring of fire chant was immense and we really were the 12th man 3:Steve Howard showe the kind of perfomance i heard he put on last week at carlise, excellent really was fantastic im openly a "howard hater" but if he put in those kind of perfomances 75% of the time nobody would critacise him 10/10
