GLC Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 I think this little boy from Leeds needs a realty check for Christmas...Ho Ho Ho. are you leaving us after christmas day?
Big Bad Fox Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Look Leeds folk don't try and argue about who has the better squad... I've seen your goalkeeper in action.. and you could probably train a common goat to be better than he is (Lucas i think) Your defence is a shambles, Up front your'e a shambles, On the wings you're a shambles, and that fat bloke robinson is about as useful as Carl Cort We have a decent pair of goalkeepers, a defence that could easily compete in the Championship, good, youngish midfielders, who are turning out to be quite consistent, and two strikers who fit together like a jigsaw puzzle and we have Nigel Pearson, who probably threatens to crusify the players if they don't win... (james weslowski's injurys were no accident) so who has the better side??

Vardinhio Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 why are we even bothering? Let's not get stressed. Leeds can try and justify whatever they want but the facts speak for themselves. As for Fryatt not getting in your team...that's pure stupidity.... There's no spirit in the Leeds team and to be honest I think they'll struggle to even make the playoffs.
Edmund Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 CasperRichardson Assoumani Michalik Sheehan Kilkenny Douglas Delph Howson Becchio Snodgrass Subs: Lucas, Marques, Prutton, Robinson, Beckford No point rushing Beckford and Robinson back just yet, the starting XI above is more than good enough to beat Leicester, with proper management. Was just reading some of the comments on the leeds forum. I always thought leicester fans were deluded but we have a new winner. http://www.waccoe.com/index.php?showtopic=147383

Edmund Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Yeah, I was telling my dad about this, some of them are in cuckoo land. If only a new manager worked for us last season............ Like others have said, I dont think we will have a problem beating them. It will be tough but still all the pressure is on them not us. We just walked past Peterbrough and our players are in a professional mentality and will do a professional job. Pearsons not stupid we will go there and frustrate them get the crowd on there back and take it from there.
Bryn Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 I really don't get how Leeds fans can be so ridiculously confident...
Guest Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Dont think Leeds is THAT big a game for us now.Considering how far behind in the League you are. Even if we lose(which we wont!) it wont really matter in the grand scheme of things. We are where we are. You are where you are. we are Top you aint. We may will still be top if we lose. You aint even near. We're in this league for the first time ever and making a REAL go of going up first time. You fcukers have been prancing about in this league for god knows how long!!! Good luck to you though......
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 I guess this is the arrogance of the top of the table talking and not a sane football fan ! . I totally get that We could probably bet on Delph getting his International call up in about 4-5 years ( depending on when we let him go ) and as for Aiden White , I doubt if you have ever seen him play but that was just a personal prediction of mine . Have you not read the final game's match day programme in league 1 where every manager rates other teams and its players ? Guess not . Almost 90% of the League 1 managers last year voted for Andy Robinson for League 1's best player. I'm sure you know more than them. When you compare him with Tiatto , it says a lot about what you know. Enoch is one of those guys who will score 15 a season easily for an average league 1 side if he starts week in week out . I'd take someone like that as a squad player .Thats why I meant that he is quality for this level , would not take him for the Championship. I'm sure thats the case with Dj Campbell or Dickov if they started every week for some other league 1 club. This is a rubbish league as you must av clearly realized by now. Kandol's not a great player but he's already got 7 or 8 this season for Milwall in 14 starts , would you laugh If I call him quality for this level ? Bechio's anything but inconsistent , he puts in great shift after shift every week. I wonder why you make some really contrasting and comical comments . It's like me telling you that Lloyd Dyer is slow , Max Gradel is blonde and Steve Howard is wafer thin. Arrogance? Well your arrogant about how you say that your team is better than ours Yes, that's why we're 15 points ahead of you! Fabian Delph, I do agree with you but he too seems a lazy player and just the reason why Leeds are in this current state. Against Histon he was SCARED to get muddy! We weren't in League 1 last year so I couldn't have read the final programme But anyway, I'll take your word that Robinson was voted like that but was it not Jay Simpson who won the OFFICIAL League 1 player of the year? Kandol > Enoch yet still your management doesn't see the light. Lloyd Dyer is not as fast as people say, Max Gradel is blonde and Steve Howard is thin(ner).
lcfc81 Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Reading this thread, 1 thing I worry about is our team getting to arrogant. I hope NP keeps them down. I worry that we might get a Leeds backlash. On the quality of squad note, in reality there are a number of players in the Leeds squad I'd take for Leicester. I would say though its probably not the best timing to have a debate like this as Leicester have done so well recently and Leeds so badly. If the debate had been 6 weeks ago it would have got a different response.

davieG Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Football is a team game, it's not about individuals although the better they are the better the potential of the team. A well co-ordinated team can more often than not over come a team of talented individuals. Leicester have a great 'team' at the moment Leeds have a crap 'team'. I'm sure if Larry can improve the 'team' ethic of Leeds by 50% then they will rise up the League. The new manager bounce can give a momentary 'team' improvement but unless the new manager can make that permanent then the team will slide back to or get worse than they were - witness LCFC/Holloway last season. If we can keep our heads and continue to improve our 'Team' performance then we are more than likely to be able to overcome any new manager bounce - I have confidence that Pearson can do that.
lcfc81 Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Just been looking at that website and their is a rumour that Delph has been arrested for drink driving! http://www.waccoe.com/index.php?showtopic=147403 Only a rumour but looks like he's had to many 'team spirits'. Larry won't be happy, Day 1, 'best player arrested for being drunk!' Anyway still only a rumour.
Maybes Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Good argument .. You will see for yourself on Boxing Day. Our whole team might play shit but this kid will stand out as always Just a minor point that was annoying me. He is not 17 he is 19 years old pal. Other than that welcome!!
Daggers Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Just a minor point that was annoying me. He is not 17 he is 19 years old pal. Phew, old enough to drink drive then.

Robinson is a good player on the ball but is slight beefcake.
Tevez Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Everyone is getting a rock on over Fabian Delph but what has he actually done in terms of goals and assists? 4 goals and 3 assists in 17 league games is good , but he's no Andy King. Fabian Delph is much better than Andy King, I'd flog him to Northampton if i was Pearson.
Samilktray Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Fabian Delph is much better than Andy King, I'd flog him to Northampton if i was Pearson. Generous.
hesapeepingtom Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 BECAUSE everytime we play every single one of our players puts 100% effort and commitment in.Gilbert, Tunchev, Mattock, King, Oakley, Dyer, Davies, Howard and Fryatt would walk into your team. yeah so i was talkin to the leeds fan there numb nuts

Spot on . Couldn't agree more with you . I dont understand why some of you lads are failing to see my point and keep throwing the same stuff at me. 11 vs 11 , Leicester is much ahead of Leeds United at the moment as you are playing as a team and therefore some of your players are playing to their potential while we are not a proper unit this season , so some of our players are under performing. I only said that as a squad , I feel we are marginally better and I admitted that I might be slightly biased while saying that. Our 2nd string side outclassed 2 Championship sides with ease and that gives me enough confidence to back our squad. But this boxing day , I expect your team to beat us fair and square . As for the guy who said Kandol is better than Enoch , it's clear you av not seen both play. If Sam Allardyce is your manager , you'd pick Kandol. If Mcallister was your manager , you gotta pick Enoch. Otherwise theres not much difference between them. Very limited strikers who could still fetch you 15 goals at this level easily . I got some confusion over who won the player of the year award last season , whether it was Beckford or Jay Simpson cos I remember both winning something. @ Maybes - Never knocked Fryatt. Only difference between him and Beckford is that the latter has bigger potential to hack it consistently at the higher levels while I remember reading some really contrasting opinions about the very same Fryatt last season in this message board. They are both too good for this division. How times Change eh ? Thats why I took Beckford over Fryatt and Bechio over Howard anyways. Like someone said , 2 months ago when we were 2nd in the table , I bet your argument would av been different. Don't write us off yet , we ve got a plethora of talent in the midfield and once Simon sorts out the defense , we'd be as good as you. I'm already confident of a decent result at your place next year as I think we would be a totally different and better team by then. Btw , just curious , whats your line up more or less gonna look like for the game ? Would Gradel n Dyer start ? Hope not !
MC Prussian Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 Merry Xmas everyone - totally forgot !! I feel that our squad is marginally better because last season , we finished 2nd in the league ( barring the 15 points ) with a far worse squad. We have not sold anyone vital to our team , we have had 2 future England Internationals coming through in Fabian Delph and Aiden White , we signed League 1's best player for years in Andy Robinson , we picked up a gem in Luciano Bechio ( who has hardly settled down yet ) and in Snodgrass , we signed a young talent who West Brom and Boro were after and he is showing us why with great performances in the last 2 months consistently ! Enoch and Sheehan are top quality players for League 1 standards. Add to all this a fit Malcom Christie who looked sharp in the Cup game and the reserves , he is battling for a contract and wants to prove himself badly. If he does , it will be a great boost for the club. So basically , we just made our squad far better than what Wise had to play with. Why are we still doing poor in terms of results ? Very simple . Its our defending thats costing us dear and when you have players with absolutely no confidence and who don't trust their team mates , you go through such a slump in form. Mcallister and Stan lost the dressing room , so irrespective of how hard he made them work in training , on the pitch there was no belief and unity. So in all the games we lost , we dominate the possession and put in great effort but individual errors at the back cost us dear time and again. Players quite simply stopped believing in Macca's philosophy of playing it nicely and passing it around at all times. They lost the appetite to graft it out , get hurt and put their heads on the line like how we did under Dennis Wise n Poyet. I'm not saying we are a better team than yours . Certainly not as your lot seem far more balanced and competent. I'd still take our squad over yours as IMO we are just few signings away from finding the right balance and the rest is up to Grayson to instill the belief in them and get them performing. If he could make average lower league players in Blackpool compete with the Championship quality , I don't see why he can't convert some of our championship quality players into top league 1 stars. Any of your back 4 would walk into our team at the moment but apart from Dyer , I can't see anybody else getting into our midfield or Up front. Douglas Delph Snodgrass/Bradley Johnson are all Championship class and I think in Bechio and Beckford , we have a Championship quality strike force again. These guys were part of a 2nd string side that thrashed Crystal Palace and outclassed Derby County. I don't think they become bad players over night Hopefully Simon Grayson agrees with me. We, we, we, we... Well, I understand you fancy your side over ours, but there's no need trying to rub something in that doesn't exist... On one hand you say you're not the better team than us, then only a few lines further you say Leeds will win it because we are just few signings away from finding the right balance WTF??? a) What makes you think you're going to sign more players in the January window with the money that you don't have? b) Are you the manager??? c) Even if you found the right balance it wouldn't guarantee at all that you'd beat us! I could go on and on about what great players we have, but I won't. Because this whole "mine is bigger than yours" thing that Leeds fans seem to have in their blood is a ridiculous dick-game that can see no winner. All that I get out of your comment on Grayson is that you're desperate he's the one to turn the whole season around, like you're clinging on to the last hope. Really, you can do better (than this post). May the better team win... C'MON LEICESTER!!!

Koke Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 What good is a good squad when you are languishing around mid table and are closer to relegation than top spot? If you have any doubt how good we are, have a word with Posh & Southend fans. We may lose on Boxing Day, but quite frankly at the moment I'm more worried about MK Dons breathing down our neck and Millwall shagging us from behind. They are too close for our comfort.
