coale39 Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Looking to extend Martin loan The goalkeeper has impressed during his time at Leicester I would say hes just done ok.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Looking to extend Martin loan Radio Leicester reported yesterday that this was a done deal. I'm sure of it. He's here for the rest of the season.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Over the years City has been a hot bed for goalkeepers and i think this is the position NP/MM wants to address in the Jan window personally i dont rate DM living off his old mans back to much, he is very poor with crosses i did not go to the leeds game but my sons did and they say he should have got the cross to their goal.
Daggers Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 He's not as bad as people make out, he's young and learning his trade and (like anyone else on the pitch) makes the odd mistake. Yesterday's flapping punch at the ball was totally ridiculous, but he has enough about him to learn from things like that. For people to be suggesting we plop in untested kids (who they've never seen play a single competative game outside of FM09) is ludicrous. At the moment Martin is the best option we have, he isn't Gordon Banks - so what? As a short-term fix he is fine, this is simply a position we need to be addressing for the long term and I'm pretty sure we will be. What is disappointing is that he made a couple of absolutely cracking stops yesterday and no one has mentioned those once.
stez Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 i've not had 100% confidence in any keeper since the days of tim flowers and ian walker
Matt Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 i've not had 100% confidence in any keeper since the days of tim flowers and ian walker Marton Fulop? I'll admit yesterday there were a few saves that won us the match yesterday, still wasn't hugely confident with him in goal though.

The People's Hero Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 And there we go. The voice of reason. Oooooooh can I be the voice of despondency?
Zingari Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Oooooooh can I be the voice of despondency? can you reach the low notes ?
Daggers Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 And there we go. The voice of reason. Apologies if anyone was disappointed with that - I will return to posting absolute crap shortly.

Also he looks very assured when he does catch it, and gets his body behind the ball when it bounces awkwardly. Very rarely pushes it out back into a dangerous area.
Samilktray Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Yeah but how goods David Martin in the warm ups?
maddog Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Hes simply too short for a goalkeeper. The goal looks HUGE when hes standing in it.
Father Ted Posted 29 December 2008 Author Posted 29 December 2008 Yeah but how goods David Martin in the warm ups? How about Samilktray = cock who likes to upset people and is nothing but a wind-up merchant
Samilktray Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 How about Samilktray = cock who likes to upset people and is nothing but a wind-up merchant I tried to post seriously and youve spoilt it.
Shrenchel Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Hes simply too short for a goalkeeper. The goal looks HUGE when hes standing in it. That's bollocks. He's about 3 inches taller than Kevin Poole.
Bert Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Don't forget people, we're in League One, we aint gonna get a world class keeper.
Matt Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Don't forget people, we're in League One, we aint gonna get a world class keeper. But we are a Premiership size club, Who wouldn't want to come to us.
Corky Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 That's bollocks. He's about 3 inches taller than Kevin Poole. And Pooley weren't too bad. Don't forget people, we're in League One, we aint gonna get a world class keeper. But we are MASSIVE.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 But we are a Premiership size club, Who wouldn't want to come to us. Agree
simjim1980 Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 i dont rate david martin at all hendo is a far better option and we should be playing him after all he is our player, martin will just go back to liverpool at the end of the season and hendo will probabally want to leave as well because he does not get a fair chance
RAFRUDY Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Id put hendo in front of martin anyday. You can tell even the defenders are nervous in front of him just recently, hence the two late goals conceded against Leeds and Hereford.

They're are probably both Div3 level goalkeepers.
