Over the years City has been a hot bed for goalkeepers and i think this is the position NP/MM wants to address in the Jan window personally i dont rate DM living off his old mans back to much, he is very poor with crosses i did not go to the leeds game but my sons did and they say he should have got the cross to their goal.

He's not as bad as people make out, he's young and learning his trade and (like anyone else on the pitch) makes the odd mistake. Yesterday's flapping punch at the ball was totally ridiculous, but he has enough about him to learn from things like that.

For people to be suggesting we plop in untested kids (who they've never seen play a single competative game outside of FM09) is ludicrous.

At the moment Martin is the best option we have, he isn't Gordon Banks - so what? As a short-term fix he is fine, this is simply a position we need to be addressing for the long term and I'm pretty sure we will be.

What is disappointing is that he made a couple of absolutely cracking stops yesterday and no one has mentioned those once.

i've not had 100% confidence in any keeper since the days of tim flowers and ian walker

Marton Fulop? :P

I'll admit yesterday there were a few saves that won us the match yesterday, still wasn't hugely confident with him in goal though.

And there we go. The voice of reason.

Also he looks very assured when he does catch it, and gets his body behind the ball when it bounces awkwardly. Very rarely pushes it out back into a dangerous area.

But we are a Premiership size club, Who wouldn't want to come to us.

That's bollocks.

He's about 3 inches taller than Kevin Poole.

And Pooley weren't too bad.

But we are MASSIVE.

i dont rate david martin at all hendo is a far better option and we should be playing him after all he is our player, martin will just go back to liverpool at the end of the season and hendo will probabally want to leave as well because he does not get a fair chance

Id put hendo in front of martin anyday. You can tell even the defenders are nervous in front of him just recently, hence the two late goals conceded against Leeds and Hereford. :scarf:

Hmm we never conceded late goals when Hendo was playing.

They're are probably both Div3 level goalkeepers.
